That is one nice car. Would make me very happy but wizz my wife off (again). Wonder why they're selling it. Chris
  2. kenz240z is thinking like I do. I like the posts about parts cars. So much is interchangable. I'm like Carl, I have a 2 stall garage and its full of parts. Plus more in the basement and some in storage. Its amazing how much "space" a stripped down 71 Z can take up. Plus the spare motors, trannys, diffs, and the other bigger items us Z nuts hold on to. If you can get the car for a bill. Get it. Strip it down, you'll learn quite a lot from that project alone. Get Wick Humble's book on Z's and read it from cover to cover. Helped me tons. When you find that "right" car then those parts will come in handy. I like to refinish a saved part to like new condition then install it on one of my drivers. In the long run it actually saves me money. My .02 Chris

Hey Ed, nice new avatar. Yes, bigger is better as long as your not concerned with originality. I just replaced the smaller one on my 72 with the big one. Works great. Chris
  7. Hey Bill, I've been buying stuff from VB since 1990 and never had a problem. Much better than MSA lately that's for sure. I ordered a part from MSA back in early April that I still havent gotten. But as always it's buyer beware no matter where you shop. Chris
  8. Only if you add a can of compression! You guys are killing me this morning! Chris

Hey K, Give Mike a call there at Banzai. Tell him exactly what you need and I'll bet he has it or can get it. He's helped me out with my car. He has stuff not listed on the site. Much luck. Chris

Hey Gang, I have those style seats in my 72, they came out of a 1975 280. I know because I did it myself. No stock 240 I've ever seen had cloth cushions with vinyl edging. The 280 does. As far as the sensor goes, I removed and chucked it when I put the seats in. All the other 280 owners can chime in now. My .02 Chris

Hey Doug, all I can tell you is that the downpipe flange on a 240 is not the same as a 280. But I dont know on a 260. According to my VB catalog, the 240 and 260 take the same flange gasket but the down pipes are different. I also can tell you that the pipes are different again if you have a manual versus an automatic tranny. Reading back through this, I haven't helped much. Much luck! Chris
  18. Aloha Joel, Got my 73 in 1995, body in great shape, gave $2500. Have invested much more in improvements. Stereo, wheels and tires, suspension rebuild(Tokicos, poly bushings), Z therapy carbs, carpet, headlight covers, MSD ignition and plug wires, strut tower bars, LED's in all gauges, short shifter, 3 row radiator. Plus I have a garage full of stuff I havent installed yet!!!!! The fun never ends!! Chris
  19. Nice looking Z Brandon! Welcome to the club. You will find really good peple and info here. I agree with everyone's post, its most likely the differential mount. Much luck, and come back often. Chris

So I figure, what the hell. I emailed both bidders and asked them if they knew they were bidding on a PICTURE of an engine. Wonder if either one will read their mail before the auction ends. I'm gonna watch this auction and see how high it goes or if they retract their bids. I noticed the bidding went from $10 to $51 in only 2 bids. Simply unbelievable.:stupid: :stupid: Chris

Thanks John, yet another inspiration for the Z faithful. Did you weld on the splash panel to the inner fender/cowl panel? Chris
