Hello Kats, I was hoping you could tell me what the black canister is on the radiator bulkhead of the 432? Thank you very much for the pictures and video. Regards, Chris A.

I use this: Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant A highly refined blend of aluminum, copper and graphite lubricants. Use during assembly to prevent galling, corrosion and seizing and to assure easier disassembly. Temperature range: -60°F to 1600°F (-51°Cto 871°C). Salt, corrosion and moisture resistant – ideal for marine use. Non-aerosol version meets Mil Spec #907E. Aerosol - Level 3* Chris A.

Got the new Road and Track yesterday. They had a very small article on the Nismo Z. It does NOT come with a 3.8 according to them. 3.5 with a 5 horse increase. They mention a 400 horse 3.8 that was in a racing series Fairlady but they questioned why Nissan didn't drop that into the Nismo Z. R&T did praise the car for its balance, brakes and new looks. I actually like the new nose and the crazy rear lower fascia. FWIW, Chris A.
  12. Awesome Randy!! Love the side stripes. Nice work. Chris A.

Hi Bruce, Based on what you said above, I'd bet those are original fuses. Maybe Carl Beck or Chris Wenzel can chime in on that though. Carl bought his Z new and may remember what factory new fuses look like. I personally have never seen anything but the ones we're all accustomed to seeing. Chris A.

Welcome to the site Guy. If you post your pictures in this thread we will be able to see them immediately. If you post to the main gallery on the front page it takes a bit for a moderator to approve them. Chris A.
  16. Hi Stephen, Dumb question here. How does the car know when you've changed the oil? Reset button of some kind? Just wondering. FWIW, I use the 3000 mile interval on my vehicles. The Xterra is on Nissan's 7500 interval but something about a hard working truck engine with an oil filter smaller than an orange and only 3.75 quarts of oil makes me change it at 3000. Thanks for the article Carl. Chris A.
  17. Great! Thanks Vic. Chris A.
  18. Stephen and Zulaytr are both correct. From: http://www.courtesyparts.com/s30_oil.html Chris A.
  19. All my Nissan's have a copper washer. Z's, 240SX and Xterra. If the underside of the pan plug and the area around the pan hole is not buggered up, the copper washer will seal every time and not leak. I do wish the Z pan plug had more of a washer incorporated into the hex. The S13 and the X have much better pan plugs than the Z. I use one new OEM Nissan washer after about 4 oil changes. I've tried auto parts and hardware store versions and they are too thick. The Nissan washer has a certain crush factor that when tightened conforms to the plug and the pan surface. But after awhile it kind of tears/shreds and then its time for a new one. FWIW, I work at a truck dealership and we use coppers on all the major engine's pan plugs also. Mack, Cat, Cummins, Detroit Diesel and Mercedes Benz. Chris A. P.S. Courtesy Nissan in Texas can get you some.

Thanks Bruce, I must have got an UP set then. So I'm not upset! Yep, my brother-in-law's Healey runs like a scalded dog. Big 6 with triple's stock. Chris A.

OUCH!!!!! That stung a little considering what I spent on them. Okay, Bruce, when the time is right for me I'll call you about getting triples. Chris A.

Hi Bruce, you can mark me down for a complete setup. Would you need my SU's back? They were done by Scott B. a few years ago, and I have two that need overhauled as well. Seriously interested, Chris A.

Speaking of the Bugatti.....how'd you like to be the guy who is known as the one who wrecked the first one? Not me! HAHAHAHAHA! http://www.motorauthority.com/news/supercars/bugatti-veyron-smash/ "More details surrounding the Veyron crash have emerged, including the identity of the driver and its unfortunate owner. The Mail reports the vehicle was registered to 41-year old businessman Kumar Soni, but it’s believed the person behind the wheel at the time of the accident was his younger brother, 39-year old Ajay Soni. The crash occurred near the owner’s £3 million Surrey home in the UK, and neighbors claim it had caused a heated argument between the two brothers. It’s also thought that the £830,000 supercar was only delivered last week and is one of only a dozen such models in the UK. Onlookers claim the car was travelling in excess of 100mph before the driver lost control, hit a Vauxhall Astra driven by a seven-month pregnant woman, and spun three times before crashing into trees beside the road. Local police have taken details, and the driver is currently being investigated for driving without due care and attention. Fortunately, no-one was injured during the accident. The Soni family run several car hire and property companies based in London. Previous: We’ve seen plenty of smashed Ferrari Enzos but this is the first time we’ve across images of a wrecked Bugatti Veyron. Information is sketchy, but it’s thought that a pool of water on the road caused the AWD supercar to lose traction and then spin out of control, sending it head first into a ditch near Shepperton in the UK. Most of the cabin section and engine compartment look relatively undamaged, however, it’s hard to determine what internal damage to the drivetrain there is if any. Hopefully the driver got out unscathed. According to the source, this is the first time a private customer has actually crashed a Veyron. Engineers reportedly destroyed two prototype examples during testing, which was part of the reason for the long delays during the vehicle’s development. FWIW, Chris A. P.S. I'd rather have ANY Skyline!

For the Skyline fans here. Saw this today. Wow! http://www.autoblog.com/page/2/ "During our time in the grand metropolis of Geneva, we had every intention of spending some quality time at the tuner expo adjacent to the main halls. But with all that was going on, time was limited, and aside from the R8-ified TT and those kick arse chairs that our friend Paukert found, there wasn't too much of interest. Then we came across this. The European firm DigitalChip didn't think that the stock RB in their shop's Skyline R34 GT-R had enough juice, so they yanked the stock mill and replaced it with a 7L V12. And then – just for kicks – bolted on four turbos. The result: 1000+ HP, 1000 NM of torque, a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds and a quarter mile trap speed at the low end of nine seconds. Complete with carbon-ceramic brakes (381mm front, 355mm rear), 13x18-inch wheels and weighing a paltry 2,200 pounds, the GTR "Unlimited" can reach a maximum speed of 220 MPH and seems to be the highlight of several shows and tuner magazines abroad" Chris A.
