Excellent thread Kats! I found the wiring on my 73 last summer. But only on the right side on the car. Did you guys that found this also find it on the left too? I made a harness that allowed me to run lights on both sides and am using small white LED lamps that are tucked under the dash by the vent controls. Each lamp has three LED's that throw light down into the foot well when I open the door. Not factory of course but you can't see them unless you really look. Kats, thank you for the information on the factory lights and where they mount. The search is on. Chris A .
  3. May I suggest when you pull the blower housing out that you replace the seal on the square flange that mates to the underside of the cowl box. See white arrow on attached picture. Chris A.
  4. Hello Mohamed, Thanks for the vid clip. Your car sounds great. I do love a silver Z! Maybe you'll do some more for us???? Chris A.
  5. Absolutely, let us know how it goes. Chris A.
  6. Yes, I havent priced any from MSA or Black Dragon. My local guy will sell them to me for $79.50 each. But, when you got to have it...... Chris A.
  7. So true my friend. I could have taken the header to a muffler shop and had things bent and tweaked to fit around the tranny. But in the end it wasnt worth it. The header was old and the car (L28 w/SU's) ran great with stock exhaust. You'll just have to bite the bullet and try and fit it into your car. I'm guessing you have an auto-tranny then? Regards, Chris A.
  8. The automatic tranny is wider than the manual and the header hits the side of the valve body where the transmission oil pan bolts on. The header will not bolt up flush to the cylinder head because of this. Trust me, I know for a fact. Tried it on the 72 that I gave to Bill Ramsey (fun in my z). Chris A.
  9. Hi Todd, If you can't find anybody local to get the parts, PM me and I'll hook you up with my source here. The guy gets me anything I want brake wise for the Z cars. Last time I did brake work he got me good quality Bendix and Wagner parts. FWIW, Chris A.
  10. Hey thanks guys for all the tips on the chrome strips. I can experiment on my spare 71 panels. Now if I knew where they were at......:stupid: Chris A.
  11. Hey Todd, Did you have any luck? Chris A.

  14. 16's with stock struts, 17's with coil-overs. By the way, came across your previous thread on this same stuff. http://classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16410&highlight=Tod+Kaneko FWIW, Chris
  15. I guess original never installed Nissan parts are worth that much to some folks. Chris A.
  16. Arne win's the prize. "The factory struts were shortened and fitted with Design Products coil-over collars and Tokico five-position adjustable cartridges. The coil-overs use Eibach springs (225 lb. front, 250 lb. rear) and pillow ball mounts to help straighten out the twisties. All mounts and bushings have been updated to Delrin and polyurethane to keep it real on the street. Stopping power has been addressed with a Porsche 993 Twin Turbo brake conversion executed by Ziel Motorsports. The 993 binders feature 330mm vented and drilled rotors, factory Porsche Brembo four-piston calipers and Ziel-spec aluminum hats." Yes, its a nice Z car! Chris A.

Dealer installed modification I thought. As Arne stated, my 73 had the insulation but I removed it after I put 72 carbs on it. Not needed. Chris A.
  20. Hi Todd, I would think a big city like Milwaukee would have a brake supply place not afflilated with a brand name parts store. Try this: Auto Brake Clutch & Gear Co., Inc 1721 North Water Street Milwaukee, WI 53202 Phone: 1-414-276-8610 Toll-free: 1-800-369-5888 Fax: 1-414-276-7663 email: abcg@abcgparts.com http://www.abcgparts.com Good luck, Chris A.
  21. You could always go to his site and buy them direct........ for $745.00......yikes! http://store.datsunspirit.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=84 Chris A.

Hi Juan, Shell says this about their 20w-50. "SHELL HELIX Super 20W50 API, SH/CD, EC1, CCMC G4/PD2, JASO SG Guaranteed quality lubricant based on a blend of high viscosity mineral oils and selected additives. A strong performing oil which beats its equivalent competition, it provides reliable enhanced engine protection in normal motoring conditions. Recommended for naturally aspirated, turbo-charged diesel and petrol passenger cars. The No.1 selling Shell oil for petrol and diesel engines in over 100 countries. Dependable all round protection Long operational oil life Excellent engine cleanliness for maximum engine performance and life Ensures adequate viscosity at all operating temperatures" It appears to me that there would be no problems with the Shell oil. I don't recommend a 20 weight oil if you have consistent temperatures below 20 degrees f. If you do, then I'd go with a 10 or 15 weight oil. Regards, Chris A.
