Yungman, where are you located? You can get most common parts at any good auto parts store. Hoses, fuel line and such aren't hard to find unless you happen to be in the Arctic or something. Take a sample to the store with you, easier for the parts person to have something to see. Not all parts reference books are correct. Trust me, I'm a parts man. Good luck to you. Chris A.

Hi, Call this number 800-208-2444, ask for Tom. He has a 77 RHD Fairlady Z missing its original engine. I thought he once told me it came with an L20. Maybe he'll buy yours so his is closer to original again. Can't hurt to call. Much luck, Chris A.

Okay guys, I've decided to give in to the myth about the 260Z N36 manifolds being better than the E46's. My 240Z has been punched oversize. Not sure how much as previous owner couldnt remember. Car has a stage 1 cam and ZT carbs. I've never had it on a dyno but it definitely is stronger than a bone stock 73 Z as I have one of those as well. I have upgraded the ignition also. So I bought a set of N36 manifolds on eBay and decided, what the heck, I'll be my own guinea pig. I made a jig to mount the manifolds and I'm doing some mild porting to get rid of the parting line roughness. Its amazing how rough they actually are. I've read as much on the subject as I want and I know some will say the manifolds need a little roughness to keep the fuel in suspension. Okay has anybody looked in a new Edelbrock V8 aluminum intake lately? Amazingly smooth. All the way from carb flange to head flange. So what I'm doing should give me something. Remains to be seen whether its good or bad. If its bad, I'll just put the stockers back on and no harm done. Any advice either way will be appreciated. Chris

Hi Guys, Holley has a PDF web page that shows how to wire an oil pressure safety switch. Its on page three I believe. http://www.holley.com/data/TechService/Technical/Fuel%20Pump%20Tech%20Info.pdf Chris A.
  21. Hi Richard, My 73 has ZT carbs. But I have the whole setup from a 72. Manifolds, air box, etc. Took me about 4 hours. Of course there was some beer drinking going on. Some of the other members will hopefully chime in here. I've heard there might be a spacing issue between the carbs using the Hitachi manifolds. But I may be all wet on that. I remember member "beandip" saying that the connector linkage between the carbs needs modifying. Try searching the forums for better answers than mine, I know they're there. Much luck, Chris A.

Ed, I believe you were on the right track when you got to the point where you press "R". Here's what I suggest (if the machine will let you): You first need the machine to boot from the CD. Change that setting in the BIOS. Insert your Windows XP compact disc (CD) into your CD drive, and then restart your computer. (You can also boot with a Windows 98/Me Startup disk with CD support and run WINNT.EXE in the I386 folder on the CD) When the "Press any key to boot from CD" message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD. When you see the following message displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER: To setup Windows XP now, press ENTER. At this point an option to press R to enter the Recovery Console is displayed. Do not select this option. On the Windows XP Licensing Agreement screen, press F8 to agree to the license agreement. Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press the R key to repair Windows XP. You shouldnt lose any files. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup Hope this helps. Let us know how it goes. Chris A.

Ed, If you can get the computer into "Safe Mode" then you can do a "System Restore" to a previous state. Do you have any friends that have a Win XP system? You could take your hard drive out and install it as a slave in their computer. You could then save files to CD's or some other format. Then do a clean install on your drive (in your computer) and then put the saved files back on the drive. It sounds like you may have a hard drive failure. It does happen for almost no reason some times. Is it a desktop or laptop? Laptop hard drives can be slaved into a desktop but you'd need an adapter. Don't hesitate to ask more questions and give us some more info. Chris A. Whoa, Kelly types fast, his info is spot on. As is everyone else's so far.
