My county calls it the "Junk Vehicle Ordinance" Quote--- 10.42.110 Keeping of Unregistered, Wrecked or Junked Vehicles It shall be unlawful for any person in charge or control of any property within the city, whether as owner, tenant, occupant, lessee, or otherwise, to allow any non-operating, wrecked, junked, or partially dismantled vehicle to remain on such property longer than thirty days. It shall be unlawful for any person in charge or control of any property within the city, whether as owner, tenant, occupant, lessee, or otherwise, to allow any vehicle which has been unregistered for more than thirty days to remain on such property End quote-- There are ways to get around this. Put the vehicle in a shed, or get a "Hobbyists Permit". "A hobbyist permit is for the restoration or repair of up to 2 vehicles. The location of the vehicle must be the same as the applicant's address. Obtain an application from the Lincoln City Clerk's Office, or download an application from their InterLinc website. Fill out the application and file it with the City Clerk. Pay $50.00 fee for each vehicle. Permits are good for 180 days" I took my extra Z's out to a friends acreage and put them in a barn. Up on blocks to try and keep the critters out of them. If you live in a more well to do area, they'll crack down pretty hard. If you live in a more blighted area, they don't care at all.

I'm not touching this with a ten foot storm surge.

The same station I posted about yesterday raised prices again this afternoon. $3.19 for 87 octane $3.29 for 89 octane I did hear a rumor today that by 2006 the price will be down to $1.80 but I'll believe it when I see it. CNN had some analysts on the tube say that $4.00 could be expected soon. Yippee!! Time to get the moped out of the shed! Chris

If I go to jail after buying you a drink, how can I drive the Z?

Hi Mark, I have no idea why for sure. The bastards in this state tax everything to death and gas is one of them. Our state legislature is constantly coming up with new funding ideas for this and that and it's usually a 5 to 8 cent per gallon tax increase. I can't do much but bite the bullet. Look me up the next time you're through here. I'll buy the drinks. Chris

Hey all, How's the price of gas in your area now after the storm. This afternoon in Lincoln Nebraska it went from $2.79 to $3.04. Friend of mine works at a distributor for Phillips petroleum, he said it will go up 40 more cents by the weekend. Better gas up now. FWIW, Chris

I have a sister in New Orleans. She got out of town before the storm hit. Her house is now under water. Luckily she loaded her mini van with as much clothing as would fit. Houses can be rebuilt, the loss of life can't be fixed. Chris

A big thanks again to those who've put up pictures. I have to mention the one car that really drew my attention. The 365 GTB/4 Competizione behind the Dino really is a beautiful car. Notice the rear roofline. Chris
  18. Good luck Marty. I'd help you if I was there! :classic: Chris

Your question is a little confusing. If this is a Z car with a straight six in it, then you can't hardly miss the oil pan plug. I dont know if the oil pan on a ZX is the same as on a Z but I would bet they're very similiar. It takes a big wrench on my car. The oil pan plug on a 240Z is roughly down from the number 3 & 4 pistons. If you removed the ONLY plug on the oil pan and got no oil, you got trouble.

Craig brings up a good point about the mech pump. Worth checking. I had a 200SX with a built L20B in it. Once while really flogging the car, it would just sputter and loose power. If I backed out she came back to life, but over a certain RPM it would just flounder like it was down two cylinders. Found the dizzy shaft was wobbling and was simply killing the car. New dizzy, no more problems at high RPM. Good Luck Marty, you'll get it I'm sure. Chris

Hi Marty, sorry to hear the fuel tank repair didnt fix the issue. Could you be having an ignition related problem? I know you're running a Pertronix, could it be dying at higher RPM? I dont really know about that type of ignition. Could there be a saturation time problem at 5500 to not load the coil? I'm really at a loss to help you. Any wobble in the dizzy shaft? I'm assuming your getting good clean fuel at good pressure at the carbies now? Chris
