My Z story
Even though the car was rusty, it was my daily driver for many years. It never left me stranded. Ever. I have to admit I was more than a little sad to watch Bill and his dad drive off in it Friday night. But now I can spend more time with my baby(the 73)!!! Chris

Do you like the Skylines?
If I had the money, I'd have me a Skyline or two or three or....... Awesome cars. I read an article in one of the automobile mags a few years ago. The reporter got sent to Japan to check out the R34GTR Vspec2. He didnt get to drive it, only do a ride along. Supposedly (according to the article) he had to have the driver pull over so he could puke from the roller coaster like ride he was given. HAHAHA, what a wuss. I guess they call the car something along the lines of Godzilla. Because its a monster of a car. It really is a shame they were never brought to the states. Makes me wonder if the US automakers didnt want their precious Vettes, Vipers and the rest embarrased by a Japanese car with just a six cylinder in it. I have read of Skylines that make over 1000 horsepower after engine modifications. I also saw one with a six speed sequential gear box that ran the quarter mile in the high 9's. FWIW, Chris

My Z story
I hope everyone realizes that Bill was fully aware of the car's body condition. But I think they came and got it for the motor. I think with the collection of Z's he has now, he can put together something that will make him happy. I was really surprised that they came at all but, when you have that Z bug in you, you do some wild things. They are good people. They mean well and that's what matters. I was just happy to take Bill for a ride in my 73 so he could experience a small part of the thrill that makes us all love these cars. His grin was ear to ear! I once drove 600 miles for an L24/E88 that had been used as an irrigation pump motor. So I can relate. Bill, I hope you can find a way to enjoy the 72 and most of all, do with it what YOU want. Chris

Good one Vicky!! You so ugly you make a freight train take a dirt road. You're head's so far up your arse you need a glass bellybutton to see. You could burn water. Chris

What makes a great plug wire?
Will, I run Taylor on the 72 and MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor on the 73. Dont really know if one is better than the other, just thought the MSD wires were cool. Plus I built them myself for a cleaner install around the dizzy cap. http://www.msdignition.com/1wirac.htm Chris

Help Identifying Parts
Picture 2 is some sort of manifold for either vacumn or water. Never seem so many different hose ports though. The canister (pic 4) is a gas fume filter/absorber mechanism. Its got a replaceable element in it. Tied into the emission control devices. One on my 240SX and Xterra. FWIW, Chris P.S. From a website: "a vent line leading the vapors to the activated carbon canister where they are stored", "Fuel vapors from the carbon canister will be mixed with fresh air taken from the engine compartment."

Wheel adapters
Check out this link. These are the same as I run but mine were made in California. You'd be better off to buy them then have them made. I would think locally they would be more expensive. Maybe not though. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=6&PHPSESSID=5e8822934c24c5bdc583c30f8d8f635c Much luck, Chris

Very Clean 240Z for sale in Texas!
I'm not trying to stir up trouble, but I if were giving 5 large for a Z, I would want to know that the car had been in an accident and repaired reasonably well. But as always, buyer beware. Chris

Very nice S30 illustration Alan. Chris- Spare Wheel Needed
You want a stock steel wheel? I have some if you want me to UPS you one. You'd have to send me $10 paypal if you want it. Chris- So you think you can Autocross?
That was fantastic. The Lotus was great. I watched a guy in a Sunbeam Tiger do some AutoX once but never like either of these guys. WOW. Chris- Iron Mask 2
- Guide on crank pulley?
The crank pulley is keyed to the crank nose. Cant fail. Much luck, Chris- Ziebart question
I had a 1979 310 that was Ziebarted. They did a good job and the car never showed any outward signs of rust. It was a daily driver that lived in the Rust Belt. Lots of salt on the roads in winter. If the shop sprays it on correctly and its good metal to start with, you shouldnt have any problems. Much luck, Chris- Aftermarket Ign Module
Luke, if you have any GM/Holdens with the HEI distributor, the module from that is what you'd need for that conversion. I'm running one made by Accel on my 72 right now. Chris- L.E.D Solutions for dash and other LIGHTS?
Do you have any close up photos of those Vicky? Disregard this post. I went to your gallery and found the one of the drivers side front. Looks good. I'm actually building LED's to fit the stock side marker lite housings. I'm casting new lenses without all the reflex lines on the inside of the stock lens. With the LED boards I've already made and the new lenses it should be nice. Chris - Water drain holes
