I get the "nice Corvette" comment from time to time. Guess the "Datsun" on the front fenders means something else to others. Chris

I seriously considered it but it was too far away. Chris Congrats to Chris though, green with envy!
  10. Hey Ben, I think most people here would say you didnt "flame". The guy was "dared" to post here and you and the rest of us have responded. It makes me sick to think of what might happen to this car. How many times have I heard of the "old car in the barn" story and wish it had been me that found it. If it makes you feel any better, I have 2 and a half 240's in a barn and no one will buy them and put V8's in them. EVER. My lesson learned here is to keep my eyes and ears open and buy everyone around my area I can. If only there were some 260's in barns in Nebraska/Kansas/Iowa/Missouri(and there might be) because I'd love to have one. I guess I just have to remember that some folks have none and those of us that do just keep on smiling every time we see our cars. Chris

So I work till noon on Saturday, I leave my Z at the shop and take the pickup home to move a dresser. While I'm gone a kid in a Civic going 70 or so, goes out of control and skids through our parking lot and plows into our shop's S-10 Chevy. The crash knocks the S-10 within three feet of the front of the Z car. If the S-10 hadn't been parked there, the Honda would have smacked the Z almost head on. Sheesh. Chris
  12. Ditto!! Leave it alone is my vote. Chris

Hey All, As of this morning I haven't heard from Wichita Police. I dont know whether to push the issue or wait awhile longer. I wonder if they think I'm legit even though I mentioned our club in the email and the fact she is a member/vendor here also. Who knows? Chris

This is on my to do list: Get some Clear Alumilite and some of their RTV silicone and make a mold of the white lens then cast one in clear. I would think it would be brighter. I also plan to insert some kind of reflector behind the bulb. But like I said, its on the to do list. I have thought of mounting a #912 bulb in the housing as they are super bright but I havent worked out the wiring yet. Most of these things are my winter projects when I'm snowed in. I'll try and post tech articles when I get them done. Chris

Hey Dan, I know a guy with a 72 who bought the VB unit for his car. It works well but it came painted silver. It looks like they sand blasted the outer shell and its kind of pitted but he doesnt mind. Working brakes versus looks I guess. He's a member of this club. SledZ is his username if you want to PM him with any questions. Much Luck, Chris

Hey Ken, pleased to meet you! I used to live in Bethany and I have some friends in Havelock. Lincoln is still a nice place to live but the taxes are insane. Hope your radiator project is a success! Chris

Does any member here have Chloe's last name and tried searching the web for any related news about her? When my Uncle died in Houston last year I found some stuff about him on the web. I hate to mention it but I recall hearing a blurb on the radio about some mysterious deaths in Wichita about the time Chloe went missing. Fingers crossed. Chris

Hey Vicky, I guess I shouldn't have left you or anyone else out. We're not crotchety, just "set in our ways". Chris
  22. ChrisA replied to mvsracf's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
So please define how all the members here in their teens, twenties and thirties are crotchety oldtimers living in the past? Damm, I just soiled my diaper!
  23. Hey Ben, Nice arse!!! Chris

Carl hit it right on the head. Ask your friends and co-workers who they've had work done by and if it was quality work. Most rebuild/repairs will be a lot less than a new radiator unless they hose you and you have to go back three times for the same fix. :stupid: Sometimes you learn the hard way! Chris
