Ok heres the problem: When i touch the exhaust tip the whole thing started moving, and it wobbled for a while, looking under the car shows that it is attached to nothing, it goes straight from the header to the end. I cant see any places where the thing might have mounted. So can someone give me some advisory on what to do? Thanks alot.

Hey guys, i want to rebuild most of my l28, but i need some help: 1: What tools do i need? 2: where can i find some additional info about this? 3: Is their a procedure for cleaning all of the internals? 4: Is their a way i can clean the outside of my engine without playing a crapload for a steam cleaner? I have this attachment for my grinder, its sort of like hard cork, but it has the texture of one of those hard sea sponges, i think its for removing paint and not damaging metal, should i use this? thanks.

Ah, i got pretty far with grinding it, i only do it untill most of the paint is gone, then i give it a little sanding, but of course there are very small scratches in the metal, will a primer fill these or will i need a filler? if so what should i use? thanks.

Ok, so how would i go about fixing these problems? Thanks in the tube closest to the front their is a brown-green gunk buildup, no liquid. Their is liquid in the second one.

Hey guys, i tryed to take my 280zx (79) out for a spin but it feels like i am always in 4'th or 5'th gear, even though i am in 1'st. Also my brake light wont go out, i check the button that turnes it off but its fine, i even tryed disconnecting the wire but it stays on. Please help! thanks alot.

Hey guys, i was checking the intake because their was alot of carbon buildup on my spark plugs. So as i pulled the hose retiner thing off of the hose, the metal wire that holds the retainer together fell off, into my engines abyss. So i really need help on finding a site that shows me how to make a custom Intake. On top of the fact that i lost that part, i also wanted to do this before. Thanks alot guys!

Ahaha! Actually the car idles just fine but startup takes a fiew tries and sometimes when i gas it the revs actually go down and i can feel a huge power loss. I have a fiew ideas on whats causing this.

I actually just started it again, it needed less gas (this is a 79 280zx fuel injected) but it ran fine without throttle after it turned over.

Hey guys, i finally started my car but it took alot of gas, i had to floor it a couple times. Is this because i had just replaced the bone-dry tank? thanks alot guys.

Hey guys, i had just finished fixing my fuel pump, so i took it off the stands and decided to fire her up. So i got my mom out and she watched cause she really wanted to see, i started it and it sputtered, sputtered and popped then after a couple tries i started! after 3 seasoned mechanics had tried i actually fixed it. But thats not the funny part, as i gave it some gas somthing came out of the tail pipe.....DOG FOOD!!?? yea, funny how the mice store there food everywhere.....it was a site, looking back and seeing dog food firing out the back. But i got it started, thats the important thing.

Ok, i did all of that exept lubing the parts up, ill get to that tomorrow when i buy the rockercover gasket. When i emptyed the fuel it was clean, just old, does this mean my tank is ok? i saw almost no debris (just a little bit of sand) in the filter of my funnel. Thanks alot guys!

Hi guys, im about to turn over my 280zx for the first time in a LONG time. What are some procedures i should go through? the fuel and oil is dirty and i would assume the gaskets are old. Plus i dont know yet if the fuel pump, pumps fuel. Any help would be apreciated! i really need to get this car started.

Thanks alot man, my mom just bought me a haynes manuel (haha my mommy) and its got all the good stuff. One thing, can i get body stuff off of a 240? cause they seem very alike the 280.

Thanks alot! One more thing, will my stock regulator work if i use a 4psi holley fuel pump and some 240 carbs?
