i replaced the fuel filter, i can now get started w. starter fluid and it will run for aprox. 2 min and then it starts to bog down. i was trying to rev it up to clear out anything stuck in the injectors and it bogged down real bad and the engine started to smoke from the area around the injectors????? bad/clogged injectors? thanks for the help so far sblake and frank

good for you, i just bought a 280 last wed. post some pictures if you can good luck fixing her up

Update i messed around with the afm and now the car will start and idle w. spray start. if you hit the gas it will rev but after a min or so starts to bog out and dies, hitting the gas does not help at all. fuel problem right? i checked the fuel pump, its pumping any ideas?

all this working on cars stuff is overrated but its worth it for a datsun.. i found the Fi book @ http://www.72hours.net/~zcar/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf so i am going to start going through the troubleshooting tnks

well i finaly got the injector hoses replaced... all 12 of them... that was a serious pain. now the car wont start, will crank over but dies right away does not respond if i give it gas. i understand car problems are hard to fix w. out checking out the car but can any one give me some ideas as to where to start? maby a bunch of stuff to rule out? any and all help welcomed -Jon p.s. its a 77 280z fuel injected

:love: :love: i got my new datsun today its a 77 280z 77k original miles was 1 owner bought it off a lady who treated this car like it was her child this thing is in near perfect condition, pics in the gallery pending aproval best part.... ONLY $2500 now i just need to get her running...

GAH...:dead: well i got my new datsun today, it had some pinhole leaks in the fuel lines, the little rubber lines on the fuel pipe near the injectors, i think the PO was using reg fuel lines and not the high preasure. anyways i got all the lines off but it is such a pain to get them back on... any tips for the newest (11:00 am today ) datsun owner? well im going to sleep but i want to drive this thing by friday

just called the lady and offered $2500 im going to trailer it home wed morning.... then the fun begins

Hey, i found a datsun i like but its got "Pin hole leaks in the Injector lines" that is what the lady who owns it told me. replacing fuel injector lines is simple right? just take off old and replace w. new? making sure to keep all lines going to same places ect.. also would this be a sign of more serious problems?

i think im going to go w. the the one in MI, its only $500 and looks to be in good condition. i asked for more pics and if they look good i'de like to go get the car on sun.. then i get to get it running but if anyone else has one lmk im still open to others... btw there is a black one on e-bay in rock falls iL.. stay away... e-mail me if you want more info
