Where is this video located? I rebuild carbs as my day job, and the import guys at my work do not like tuning them or rebuilding them, so I was thinking of doing it myself in my free time, wouldn't take all that long, and I am looking for something to help me learn about them seeing I have access to almost unlimited amounts of new gaskets, jets etc. Thanks. -Chris (Ben's (The Owner)'s Mechanic)
  4. I am super interested, give me a date and time and I'll be there. Ares081883@comcast.net

It isn't all that great, but you can fish if you want, go swimming, there is good parking space, and depending on the area we want to park in, it'll either be really packed, or we can go to quieter area of the park.

Yea it is a 1971 240Z, I live over by Contra Loma off of James Donalan, but the car is over at my mechanics, he drives it around for me keeps it going and whatnot, while he is working on it. After the meet this saturday he is putting in new U-Joints, and while underneath checking for rust etc, he lives over in the Deer Valley, Lone Tree Way area of town.

A metallic blue, with iron cross wheels, and missing badges in the rear. Oh yes, loud, extremely loud.

If you show up to the next meet, there will be video taken, not sure how great it'll be, but I can offer an unedited copy for $2 or $3 a tape or something, or however much tapes cost these days. Let me know. Nor Cal Meet, East Bay Area

I had to cut the exhaust off of my car last night, they welded it straight to the header, and I am going to be purchasing a set of twice pipes, and a new header, not really sure which one yet, but crap it was loud when I started it up running just off of the header. Sounded almost like a V8 at idle. Definetely need something on there to quiet it down a bit. Or at least put the sound behind me.
  15. I know, unfortunetely, I will be in LA on a trip. Which is why I was wonnndering if anyone would be willing to do it again. :classic:

Sounds good. The car has been set off to the side, and is getting slowly stripped so we (my mechanic and I) can get everything cleaned and ready for restoration. Thank you guys a bunch. :classic:

I just picked up my 240Z tonight, absolutely gorgeous. Runs like a dream, drove her home from San Francisco. 83000 on the chassis, approx 10,000 on the engine. Freshly rebuilt carbs, and motor. Body is in good condition, no rust, new paint, small dent in the front of the hood, where someone ran into it. Needs some interior work, and some inside body paneling. Besides that it is in great condition. Picked it up for $2500. Pictures will be coming. :devious:

$12 each @ Autozone or similar. Interesting, I will have to look into that. Thank you for letting me know. How reliable is the Motorsport Auto store? That is where I got the price from. Thank you.

The Spicer ones aren't to bad at all $24.95 a pop @ two per driveshaft. Which would last longer, the Spicer of the "Stock" replacements?

I use bead blasting on a daily basis, as long as you are careful, have the proper amount of pressure on the house, use the right blasting material, and don't fall asleep it should be ok, use quick, horizontal strokes over the piece you are blasting, also if possible, remove the piece to blast and place it in a blasting cabinet, it will save a lot of room and clean up, not to mention you can get much more individualized, and do a better more thorough job.
