  1. Yep. Gotta do the same to mine. You make the replacement, or buy a pre-formed one somewhere?
  2. Speaking of 2+2's. I'll be cutting mine in half soon, so if anyone needs a roof or rear quater panel. The wheel well is spoken for. I also have some doors with glass for sale, and a complete set of black interior panels/vinyl, and a Rear seat - cloth trim no tears. and various other bits an pieces. Any takers? And now something to make you cry. A guy on the wa z cars forum sent a whole 260z 2+2 body shell to the crusher because he couldn't find anyone to take it off his hands. Bonet, guards, everything. Those bits would have come in handy for spares for a 240z.
  3. So unplug the brake pedal switch and touch the wires together. The brake lights should come on. If they do your swich is the problem, if they dont, you've ruled out another possible cause and can keep looking. Also check the bulbs. As they are dual filament, the brake light filament can break, and the normal (light) filament will still work. Sometime the broken filament can touch the other filament and cause all sorts of wierd symptoms.
  4. http://www.victoriabritish.com/z_zx_cat_page.htm and get then to send you a free catalogue, or http://www.classicdatsun.com/new/240Z.html or http://www.datsunrestore.com/catalog.html (just past halfway doen the page) If your not changing the foam or webbing, its almost as easy as putting on a seat cover.
  5. :stupid: He should have brought it with him!
  6. Nissan replaced the L series with the RB series in the mid 80's. Not sure exactly when, but we started getting the RB engined skyline in 86/87. The RB could be had with a single cam head, or a twin cam head.
  7. So if you could pick up a triple weber manifold for $170 that would be a good buy?
  8. How much would a manifold like that cost? (not including the carbies).
  9. I like the ones that say TURBO (of course it helps when you have a turbo too).
  10. Some people pay lots of money for custom interiors like that.
  11. S30s all look the same if you take off the bumpers and the lower valance. Of course there are subtle differences to look for, the lower front crossmember for example indicates that this in not a 240.
  12. Thought you ware selling your z for a second Hayden. Nice number plate.
  13. Hey Nick what ones did you go for? the ones from classicdatsun.com? I just realised the exchange rate makes it worthwhile buying things from the US again.
  14. Try "tweaking" it in the opposite direction. Open the hood, stand infrom to the car, grab the edges with both hands and give it a good "tweak" on the opposide direction. (ie, twist/bend it straight).
  15. Ok So since the 240ZG had flares and the guards cut out to fit wider wheels as standard, how wide were the wheels that were fitted to the ZG from the factory? It seems that this will be the widest rim you could fit to the Z in W.A. if it was wider than 7 inches.
  16. Spring Perch i've heard them called. Heres my z when i bought it at standard height. Its up on stands with no suspension at the moment, so i can measure the distance http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/data/500/1278100_0471-med.JPG

Yuppie, your lines are as tacky as your username.
  18. As well as the the factory pressed numbering? So you have 2 sets of VIN's on the firewall? or is this for cars that dont already have the VIN pressed into the firewall. I have a 260z with a factory pressed VIN number on the firewall, a different VIN on the factory nissan ID tag, and yet another different VIN on the Australian compliance plate.:stupid: Something fishy going on there maybe. I guess that means there are 2 other 260z's out there that are dead. Speaking of dead cars, I cut up an early 240z today. Cut the roof right off it. Going to fill the hole in my 240z roof where the sunroof was. See the pic in my gallery of the butchered Z. The PO though he was improving the car by welding bits of metal onto the sides of it. I think he was mentally unstable.
  19. Should fit an intercooler, instead of pumping that hot air straight into the inlet manifold.
  20. I think sx wheels would have too much offset to fit on a 240z
  21. The back of a r180 is fairly flat. The back of a r200 has a definate curve to it.
  22. I have a 260z 2+2 that i will be completely pulling apart. I have already removed the front panels. Keeping all the mechanicals, dont know what i'm doing with the rest. Black interior panels, rear seat etc. Probably will have to go. Anyway i worked out a real easy way to tell the difference between a r180 and r200. The r180 rear plate is very flat when compared to a r200, which has a lot more curve to it. And if you dont have another diff to compare it to. the r180 moustache bar is infront of the A arm supports that are mounted to the chassis, while the r200 moustache bar is behind the A arm supports. Mine has bolt up half shafts.
  23. There's a guy selling 16" b45's on www.wazcars.com 7 inch front, 8 inch rear. I dont think the 8 inch will fit under the guards though.
