  1. He should take those 510 mirrors off and fit S30 mirrors
  2. It's a pity you never saw that $1500 2 door from Tasmania that was for sale on ozdat for 2 and a half hours.
  3. Huh, thats odd. I though that would be big news... http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=b0zWhrbVp7g (your subject line reminded me of that)
  4. G-spec, nice. So what are your plans for it?
  5. The ones on yahoo are new in box Nissan ones.
  6. Hit reply, and in the Additional Options, click the Manage Attachments button.
  7. Damn, every 240K left south of the equator is going to look like a GT-R
  8. Your not looking hard enough. http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e87924605 Know anyone in Japan?
  9. I assume he means Nissan 240Z Fender Mirrors (the black ones. Chrome ones are for the 510) see link, and not genereic fender mirrors.: http://www.nostalgictrio.com/blog/index.php?image=files/2007/December/20/19/images/zg-mirrors.JPG&id=19#image
  10. Really? I just searched MSA for fender mirror and Fender Mirrors weren't listed. The only result was for tuner die cast 240z models with fender mirrors. Yahoo auctions Japan is also a good source for these.
  11. If its in the car, while driving at a 3rd gear speed, shift into 4th, then try 5th. If the revs go down your in 5th. If the revs go up, you have gone back to 3rd, and its a 4 speed.
  12. I'd be after a full set if someone (Phil or whoever) could send it to Perth. Well packaged so they don't get damaged.
  13. No rear hatch window either. Photos must be from before the car was finished, i guess.
  14. Yeah group buy of local parts was being talked about here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32006
  15. Not many transport companys will touch a car that wont run. You may have to drive down with a trailor or truck and pick it up yourself.
  16. Told a guy on skylinesaustralia about this one. He seems keen.
  17. I didn't know that about American cars. I guess your perspective on the matter biases you towards thinking that the Chassis number and engine number should be the same number, but since we are talking about Japanese cars..... When applied to the S30 "matching number car means" (at least to me it does) that the VIN Tag (Tag as in a metal plaque attached to a vehicle that contains information about that vehicle, irrespective of size, in this case I was referring to the one in the engine bay, yes lets call it the Nissan Identification Plate, or Nissan Model Number Plate, or any other name to describe the alumin(i)um plaque/plate/tag affixed to the engine bay), has numbers that match the chassis number on the firewall, and the engine in the car. Since the S30 has different numbers for chassis and engine. Damn, now you have me sounding like a lawyer. US cars did get this engine bay tag right? From an Aussie perspective: We had the factory fitted tag/plate/plaque in the engine bay, and thats all. No VIN tag numbers on the dashboard, and no plates/tags in the door jamb. Though we did get an extra compliance plate in the engine bay, as dictated by Aussie law. This allow had the VIN number on it.
  18. You do know what matching numbers car means, right? It means that the numbers on the ID tag for the chassis and engine number match the vin number on the firewall, and engine respectively. Not that they are all the same number. It's just a way of saying its the original chassis with the same engine it left the factory with. Surprises me that people think the chassis number should be the same as the engine number. L24's all had sequential numbers on the block, and they were used in many different models, so its no surprise that the engine number is a lot higher than the chassis number. This guy is looking for the original engine that was in his car (as stamped on the VIN tag) because he's obviously had the engine swapped out at some point. Right Garagegoon?
  19. Testees??? I'm not touching that one. Watched the original version (UK) of Life on Mars, no Zeds in that. US might be different, but after watching the pilot US version, didn't want to watch any more of them. Capricorn one, yep thats been mentioned before, so has the back to the future one. Theres a yellow 260Z in the movie Chopper, staring Eric Bana, before he became known in the US. Probably been said before too. "Attention shoppers. Testees. That is all". Family guy quote, sort of. Sorry couldn't resist it
  20. Front fender DATSUN emblem is retained by 3 spring clips. You need to get to the back of the fender through the wheel arch with a thin screwdriver and bend the clips away from the pin, so that they can slide off. If your not careful you can snap the pin off. If you cant get to them you can unbolt the lower edge of the fender, that should give you enough play to pull the fender away from the body to get to the other clips. There's an inner mud guard panel that may be able to be removed on the 240z. I think it was welded on later S30's. I cant remember if the bolts were on the wheel side, in which case you can get to them, or the other side, in which case you cant.
  21. Cut and paste it into notepad first, If it shows up there, then re-cut and paste from notepad to here. better be worth the wait
