Cool. Got plans for it, or is it for sale? Designed by the Italian designer Pininfarina eh? Not sure who was copying who's website content, but this website http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/car_info_datsun_bluebird_p410_1964.htm also Says Goertz designed the 240Z, http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/car_info_datsun_240z.htm so I wouldnt believe that Pininfarina had any involvment, unless someone can provide any real evidence to support that. It's certainly not mentioned on Nissan Heritage collection website in any of the P411 articles. Interesting fact. The P411 was also made (assembled?) in Nissans Mexico factory.

I hit surface rust like that with the rust converter phosphoric acid stuff. Once it dries and converts the rust, I hit it with the wire brush attachment in the grinder. repeat as necessary till there's no rust left.

+1 rent a truck. My old 240z had a tow bar. Should have seen the damage it caused to the chassis.
  5. "My engine sounds funny." "How funny does it sound?" "It sounds so funny, when I drive down the road, clowns chase after me". But seriously. If you are going to fit a new exhaust, just have the shop fix the leaking head gasket issue. The have alot of experience doing such things. Better still, if you are going to fit a set of headers, it would be included in the price. If you feel like fixing it yourself you could try putting exhaust putty around the leak, though its would only work for a short time, and is really just a temporary measure.

You should Personal Message Alfadog to discuss the language issue, since he is the moderator for this section. As for not doing it again, if you don't use unacceptable language, then he wont be forced to moderate your posts. Generally, the usual 4 letter swear words starting with C,F, & S are not allowed.

www.z31performance.com and www.z31.com would be a more informed crowd to ask. From my time there I'd say, they would tell you its probably worth around $500 in the condition it's in, maybe more. Z31s aren't valued to highly. Definitely fixable. I have a Z31 myself.
  9. The most identifying feature of the 2+2 (for me) is the roof-line. If you cut off the roof and made it a convertible you would remove the most obvious visual cues that its a 2+2. Like this one:

No, I believe he's a web guy that does Search Engine Optimization (they are the snake oil salesmen of the internet), He makes random posts on popular websites with links in his signature to try to improve the page rankings of the sites he's promoting. Will. What software are you using to create the DVD?

Not the sort of pics I had in mind when I read the title.
  12. What, you mean pull out the back seat? Whats the point? Still looks like a 2+2 from the outside.

The correct way to use google to limit searches to a particular website is to use the "site:" keyword. eg. site:craigslist.org Datsun 240z which will only search craigslist.org, whereas your method, although it does work, would also find random pages (such as personal blogs) where somebody mentions buying a Datsun 240z from craigslist. This works with all websites. eg you could seach this website like this: site:www.classiczcars.com 240zg
  14. Sometimes it's in the first place you look, but you don't look hard enough, and spent 10 minutes looking in other places, and you argue with the misses, saying don't look there, I already looked. Then you start over and look in the first place again and find it.
  15. That made my head hurt just trying to read it. roadworthyable thats my favorite invented word of the week.
  16. If they were ricers, then they would have stock brake setups.

I think some of people put them on backwards because they think its more aerodynamic.

I've heard the ford 65mm falcon throttle bodies (from the XE/XF type) can be adapted to fit. I think thats what Simon DeGroot has/had in his 240Z/

Is that center emblem different to the usual emblem? Or is my mind playing tricks on me?
  22. Was out in the Z giving it a bit, when some crazy Jon Doe starts chasing me in some big American car I dont recongnise. Luck for me the Z easily out handled it and I lost the guy after a few turns and a bit of an off road detour. Lost a hubcap and bent the front bumper though. Got it all on video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBt75UmVFrU ROFL
  23. I like the "sock in the BMW engine" post better. At least its believable, unlike that one.
  24. So This (exhibit A): Is definatley not this (supposed leaked photo during a presentation) (exhibit : Been doing a little google hunting for more pics and found these. http://jalopnik.com/366392/nissan-370z-info-shows-up-in-japanese-car-mag-bigger-engine-on-the-way a supposed engineering mule that was sporting 370Z emblems: http://www.drivingenthusiast.net/sec-blog/categories/nissanZ/2007/06/21.html http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/autoexpressnews/219765/nissan_370z.html If I had to guess, I's say the leaked photo, exhibit B, was a styling concept, not an actual car. I'd also guess that there would have been a couple of designs in the running to be the next Z. I'd also guess that the exhibit B design would have been rejected because its too radically different to the current Z. So, I guess the next Z will probably be more like exhibit A than B. I guess we will have to wait and see. Go on Nissan, prove me wrong.
