  1. boot lid looks ok. wonder what his reserve is.
  2. Yeah seen that on ozdat http://ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=28607
  3. Unfortunately not true. Look at the CSP311 Silvia. only 554 made, not particularly desirable, but rare, = not particularly valuable (in the tens of thousands). Compared with the Toyota 2000GT of the same era, 351 made, rare, desirable = valuable (in the hundreds of thousands) Value is determined by desirability, not rarity. Nevertheless, they are cool to us Datsun nuts. I sold my Super 6 for $450 after a year of advertising it. (the guy that bought it bogged up the rust and is now trying to sell it for $5500).
  4. He might get that much for it, if it was in the Middle East, but he isn't , so he wont.
  5. Factory ones were plastic too, i'm sure.
  6. "4 speed manual" that could possibly be GT.
  7. Looks like the previous owner may have used the 260/280 struts, which would explain why the rear end is so high.
  8. Tell me you took the 240K GT badges off it.
  9. What was the outcome of the discussion, stamped? I doubt they would be engraved. Possibly the prefix was stamped first (HLS30 000) with the 01 to 99 being stamped later as required. The 22 looks too uniform to be engraved, ie both 2's are identical.
  10. Yeah the Europe got both coupe and sedans badged as GT. We originally got GT's then later GL's. For all intents and purposes they is practically no difference between GT's and GL's of the same years. Somebody probably just bought some GT badges and whacked them on the doors and exterior. My Coupe also has GT badges, and the GT gear knob (4 speed).
  11. Yeah no problem. If anyone is going out can you take photos. If they are as bugged as mine I don't want them
  12. I'm probably after the same section? I need the dogleg section for the drivers side (eg cut horizontal from the top of the wheel arch forward to the door, with a couple of inches of the inner wheel well left on) . The section of the blue on doesn't look too bad. If you can be bothered cutting it up?
  13. Somewhere there's a guy with a V8 buick wondering why one of his camshafts is longer than the other one.
  14. Couple for sale on ozdat http://ozdat.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=53
  15. Throw out the engine and drop in an SR20DET? A bunch of people over at www.311s.org might disagree.
  16. Nope, not in Aussie cars. It was typically only used on the Z432 and Nissan works competition Z's and on the Skyline GTR of the same era.
  17. My 1/1974 has a 5 speed, no idea if its original though.
  18. These came out with 5 speeds didn't they?. I believe it was only the cars that were badged as GT's had the 4 speed.
  19. I think there shouldn't be an apostrophe in "yours".
  20. Nope I've seen the youtube videos, (he's not a kid) and the photobucket album (http://s231.photobucket.com/albums/ee44/smokingwheels/#!cpZZ1QQtppZZ24), it's a real car (910 bluebird), just what he's done to it, no one is really sure but him, and to what benefit. Maybe he's from the future, like a 12 monkeys sort of thing
  21. There's a guy wrecking a 240K on ozdat. check the parts section. He's in the NT. Link: http://ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=24454
  22. this is too long http://scene-media.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/bozo2.jpg
  23. And one that's not so nice http://cgi.ebay.com.au/datsun-240k-GT-coupe-/160519678925
