  1. Ah that reminds me. I have a 240z belt buckle. I'll dig it out an take a photo. Stay tuned.
  2. if you think those videos are scary, this one will freak you right out. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5489018464221065117
  3. Ha thats funny. I like the Dustin Hoffman Rainman samples. Obviously fake - something somebody edited up on their computer. Its not a Bruckheimer production. couple of photos of the car here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0811080/photogallery
  4. I wonder if theres any time limit on when the laws apply? For example if the tint was applied 6 years ago and it was legal then, and in the mean time they changed the law, would your car have to comply, or would it be exempt?
  5. Its not just the transmission, now his engine is on fire too: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=27586 Had you posted that information in this thread. I would have suggested your overflow on you flow bowls is leaking. What does it do when it leaks? It squirts petrol right onto your exhaust manifold/pipe.
  6. I think that's just perspective playing ticks on your eyes.
  7. Hmmm. I see where they've wiped years of oil grime of the front of the engine and sump, but stopped about half way up the side of the block. And Didn't wipe the anti sway bar, or steering rack. And they've replaced the diamond vinyl with carpet and plain vinyl.
  8. Get it up on jack stands and have a look at whats burning.
  9. You cant believe all you read in books. Some books still claim the 240Z was designed by a German.
  10. If you are just browsing the site you can run it through google translator (french to english works on english sites). That way the logged ip's only go back to google.
  11. There is nothing to debate. They are (well appear to be) Kobe Seiko manufactured wheels that were a Nissan option for JDM Fairlady Z. All Portuguese 240Z got them as standard? Cool. Do yours have date stamps on them and what size are they?
  12. Now thats the best advice. If you want something done right.....
  13. Yeah. I got told at a petrol station that my 86 turbo Z31 was "old school". I guess it its to people under 30. As for the 240K, If you told them it was a mid 70's Skyline they might have known what it was.
  14. Its only available from Japan on VHS tape (No DVD), and you have to learn Japanese, because as of yet theres no subtitles. Or you can just watch the fan subbed Anime version off the net. Darbji, Yep thats the place I was reading about. I cant find the article I was reading, but it was pretty much the same as this one http://www.houstonpress.com/2005-03-31/news/delorean-lives-on/
  15. The 510, 610, 910 are all bluebirds. The Fairlady name was was in use before the Z, which is why the S30 was called the "Fairlady Z" to distinguish it from the previous fairlady.
  16. Theres already a Z cars in movies thread, do we really need another one? speaking of irish cars, I read an article about a place that completele rebuilds DeLoreans. In the article they said they might start making new ones on a limited basis, since there aren't too many f them left.
  17. I was subjected to country music when I was a kid. Forced to listen to Dolly, Kenny, and Waylon in the car when on trips with the parents, and sometimes at home. I can still remember the lyrics to most of the songs. There should've been a law against it. I have memories of being driven around in the Mitzi L300 with it playing on the tape cassette player. That and Boney-M. After all that I cant stand country music.
  18. More scarce? They're pretty damn scarce already. It's easier to find a 240Z than a 240K down here.
  19. Doesn't sound like the wiring is the issue. Sounds more like the wiring harness has been dodgied up to fix various problems, instead of fixing the problem itself. Eg the headlight problem is probably a worn combination switch (a common problem with the S30). Simply replacing the harness wont fix the problem.
  20. .... and valve springs. Pick a car, be it 240 or 260 or 280 and spend the money on head work, cam, carbies, and exhaust. The better the engine breathes the more HP its capable of. Theres no point spending money stroking the L26 when you can pick up an L28 cheap enough. Or theres the turbo charging option, but thats a whole other can of worms. Whatever you do, you could dyno the car before and after, so you can see what gains you actually made.
  21. Exterior panel disassembly: 1. Start by removing the hood and inspection flaps. 2. Remove the wipers and the cowl. (giving you access to the hidden fender bolts) 3. Remove front bumper, grill and lower valance. 4. Unplug all lights in the fenders, and remove all bolts holding on the guards. 5. If you got all the bolts the fenders will come off in 1 piece (no need to separate headlight buckets). It it doesn't move, you've missed some bolts. 6. Unbolt the door hinges from the chassis and remove doors with hinges attached. (Take a note of any shims the might be used so you can replace them correctly). Or you could leave the hinges on the car and just unbolt the doors. 7. Moving to the back of the car, remove the rear bumper. 8. Remove the Hatch 9. Remove the rear tail light panels, and tail lights. Thats basically it for stripping off the body panels, I don't think I missed anything. You should remove the windows too, but you have to start removing interior panels to get to the bolts that hold the quarter windows in.
  22. It got to AU $3,583.00 reserve not met. No sale, I guess that means we'll see it again on ebay.
