  1. Damn. I forgot to up my bit at the last second, and someone out bid me. Hope it wasn't any of you guys. .\/.
  2. Got a budget in mind? Best performance, go with a larger engine (L28). If you want to cut costs, ditch the efi and use round top carbies. The search feature is good, think of a question and type in some keywords and you'll get alot of homework reading. also check out www.datsunzgarage.com
  3. $400 for a fuel pump sounds expensive to me.
  4. I did, until the electrics crapped out and constantly drained the battery flat. I'm fixing a z31 to use as a daily now, but until then i'm in the R31.
  5. Tough break. how much would storage cost? Maybe you could offer the cash to your parents instead? Got any buddies that could store the chassis for you at there place? Maybe you could put a shed up in the back yard or beside the garage to store the car in, then your olds get a free shed after the car is gone. Or you could move out and take the car with you.
  6. I dont like R33's or soarer's, so my advice would be don't get either. I like 31, 32's and 34's. then theres the Z32. Maybe you could try getting a fresh off the boat imported one (any of the above) from a dealer?
  7. I bet its around 5K, as the last auction started at 4999 with no reserve. Been on and off ebay for about a year i'd guess.
  8. Looks more "Tin stamped" than "die cast" if you know what I mean.
  9. You can see more pics of Andrews car here (post 39 and 40).
  10. Replicas are available from Japan, like this one
  11. Not really. If you thinking of getting some parts to take back to the USA to sell for profit, you'd probably be better off bringing some hard to get parts to Australia and selling them off to the locals.
  12. Relisted for 99 cents with a reserve. 1 bid so far. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300131620946 Lets see what bidding gets to.
  13. I dont know if this is any help It's from the USA Nissan Competition parts book cira 1984.
  14. I reckon I would have paid around $3000 to $4000 for it, which is around what he convinced the previous owner to remove it from ebay and sell it to him for. But now that I have one, I'm not interested. He should list it with a lower starting value and let the market decide what its worth, and sell the other bits off separately. I think he's hoping someone from Japan will pay his buy it now price and ship it back home.
  15. Yeah I was gong to say 72 but I wasn't sure about USA delivered 240z's so I guessed late 71.
  16. doesnt matter, you already tried them.
  17. Thats the revised version, late 71? to 73. 69/70 center console didn't have the chrome sliding ashtray like the one in the photo.
  18. The seller is mistaken. They are not made of aluminum.
  19. You can upload pics directly to the thread with the manage attachments button, no need to wait for approval, they show up straight away if you do it that way.
  20. No its not metallic. Its an original Datsun Z colour 112 Yellow (aka: Lime). heres what the colour looks like in the daylight.
  21. He's still using the Queensland photos from when he bought the car. I wanna see photos of the veilside kit. I bet its really ugly like most veilside kits are. p.s "AS THE GTR C10 JAPAN" whats that supposed to mean?
  22. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26154
  23. Yeah saw that. $4,990 no reserve. I wonder if the auction will get to run to the end, or if it will get yanked off on the last day.
  24. woah, that airdam looks like it's right out of Mad Max (Road Warrior).
  25. If your timing is 180 degrees out (and not 90 degrees out), and its had an engine rebuild, then its most likely that you distributer dive shaft was installed 180 degrees out. It's not really a problem, just makes setting the timing a little difficult, as it doesn't line up with the timing marks on the cover.
