  1. AH ok. I stopped reading that thread. Never noticed it before I saw an ad for it.
  2. Looks like Nissan have gone a little retro with the 350Z. They've restyled the bonnet (hood) with a 240z-esque bulge. source: http://nissan.com.au/z/
  3. Yeah it was designed by Pete Brock. They only made 6 of them.
  4. When you say it was a modern daytona, I presume you mean its a replica, as opposed to one of the original cars. There are various companies making replica Cobras.
  5. Knowing Alan, straight from the horses mouth, most likely. FRP, Fibreglass - same thing. Carl, how did corvettes get away with having fiibreglass front ends then?
  6. Cool, where'd you get them from? yahoo auctions?
  7. OK. Does the whine stop if you turn the engine off, but switch it back to on (without restarting the car)?
  8. Even Alfa gets it wrong. The trees are Bonsai. Bansai is a misspelling of Bonsai I believe. One of the karate kid movies, I think the first one, had Mr Miyagi correcting Danial-san when he was saying Bonsai instead of Banzai (not referring to the trees, but used as a cheer of enthusiasm or triumph). Anyway back to your car, Got any photos of it after you washed all the dirt and dust off it?
  9. Did you mean "Banzai" or do really like little trees?
  10. Try it, I bet it wont. I guess you've never heard of flooding an engine then. Thats when there is too much pertol in the engine for the engine to fire. No it wont. I don't know where you are getting your facts from. Petrol vapour is explosive, petrol as a liquid, without the right amount of air will not ignite. Some science homework for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flooded_engine http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upper_explosive_limit

Does this help: http://www.datsunhistory.com/Racehistory1.html For a good example of just how much Datsuns dominated the racing scene in the 70's, just look at the 72 ARRC race at Road Atlanta. Google: John Morton Datsun Bob Sharp Datsun Brock Racing Enterprises That should find you the answers you are looking for.
  13. Not if the AF ratio is way out it wont fire. Too much fuel and it wont burn.
  14. I heard the roadster was on sale a couple of months before the MG.
  15. MG's, aren't they those english Fairlady roadster rip-offs.
  16. There was a website for a guy building an electric 240z. If you search this forum you might find a link to it.
  17. Ah, its so hard to pick up sarcasm in written text. Anyone want to bet that Boyd's team have been working overtime to rebuild the engine, fix the rust and retrim the interior for fridays unveiling?
  18. Brand New? after sitting in a concrete crypt filled with water that seeped into it, it don't think its going to be in brand new condition.
  19. The OS Giken head are unobtainable.
  20. At least you didn't buy a 280ZX Also they changed the way they measured HP between the 240 and 280, so comparing the numbers directly doesn't mean anything.
  21. I almost got myself A Nikon D70 at an auction yesterday, but the price went too high. Great cameras.
  22. Duncan Datsun in Perth (Melville i think) were operating in the 60's, and sold a number of Nissan Silvias, well one at least.
  23. Funny he should say that. Renault (a French company) own the controlling interest in Nissan, which is why the former vice president of Renault is now in charge of Nissan. If Renault didn't bail out Nissan, the there might never have been a 350Z. I saw the old Top gear review again recently in which Jeremy Clarkson describes the 350Z like this: (The same engine is used in the Renault Vel Satis). Yep Time for a redesign.
  24. There would probably be some c10/c110 forums in Japanese, and maybe some in Arabic but this is the only English language one that I'm aware of that has a section specifically for the C110. I dont think they sold in very large numbers outside of Japan, apart from maybe the middle east. They seem to be very popular over there.
  25. Now that looks better. Theres something about the nose of the other one that doesn't look right. But thats just my opinion, don't get offended by it , If you like it good for you. Everyone has different tastes. Its like Red_dog says, you want to like it, but it just looks a bit strange. Same with the new Nissan GTR. Awesome car on specs, just a little strange looking.
