  1. I doubt it. I don't think any VG engine parts would fit on an L series.
  2. Art bough a new car. 4 cylinder Prince Skyline. (You can tell its the 4 cylinder version by the shorter front guards). Whats your plans for it Art?
  3. Speaking of TLC, this car needs emergency medical attention. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160105601778
  4. If you sold the z to get the bmw in the future the z will be worth double what you sold it for, while the bmw will be worth half what you paid for it. Monetary value aside, i'd rather keep the Z. If you really want the Beemer and need some extra cash, take out a loan.
  5. Looks like somebody really wanted a corvette.
  6. I trimmed mine down till they were a better fit. Stock they wanted to be under stress to fit, so i cut down some of the edges that were pushing them out of shape, till they fitted under no stress. Never actually fitted them though, since the car is a work in progress. Then i got a set of nissan chrome rim type ones
  7. Anything's fixable. Just look at what HLS #26 or was it #27 looked like before being rescued.
  8. Yes the early ones were badged as GT 's and had 4 speed gearboxes
  9. Yeah I was expecting some sort of vintage Datsun truck, but I guess we all have to own at least one modern car with all the conveniences. For me its my Skyline GTS-X.
  10. Yep.Best mod is to bold all the turbo gear onto an L28 (or even the L24 or 26 thats in the z you get - if you get one with an engine). Heaps of info on Turbo L6's over at www.hybridz.org
  11. Before buying anything from an ebay seller its wise to check there feedback. The easiest way to do that is on www.toolhaus.org Just type in there username and click the button. eg this guy ur-gelis: http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=%09ur-gelis&Dirn=Received+by&ref=home
  12. So from that I assume you mean that: 1. The lowest number 240K to arrive in Australia was number 301, 2. and it was a 2/73 compliance dated car, 3. and you cant find any evidence of the cars 1 to 300 being shipped to any other countries (which doesn't mean it didn't happen of course, they could be in Europe or some other market)
  13. If you plan on going shopping: http://www.rubber-soul.net/ http://www.rubber-soul.net/eigyou.htm http://www.rubber-soul.net/new_page_35.htm Use google to translate it to English to get the address. Don't know if its anywhere near where you are going to be though, its in Osaka.
  14. I wonder if Nissan just borrowed them from the C when production stopped and stuck them on the K?
  15. Which year 240K hubcaps are they?
  16. I don't think you would have any problems fitting them in a RHD Zed. They look similar to the headers that are available for the Z down here. But I'm just guessing. I think the issues with some Z headers in a skyline is that some Z headers have clearance issues with the Skyline Steering, since the steering assembly is behind the cross-member, whereas on a Z the steering is in front of the cross member. Maybe grab a tape measure an check that they will fit ok.
  17. Thanks Ron. Now we know both sides of the story. I don't know alot about BRE and any opportunity to find out more is a good thing.
  18. Yeah Coung (Yellow RB26DET 240Z) bought it (the car, not the spoiler) off the prevoius owner (who was some relation to the original owner, who put the V8 in it and I think that spoiler). Then Coung sold it to Paul, the current owner. That spoiler is still for sale if anyone wants it.
  19. I don't think he's trying to pass it off as one either (a BRE race car). I think people are just inferring that because of the association with BRE. To sum it up, I think this is a promotional car. An advertising tool, painted to look like a BRE, with special gear knob, badges, and other bits of trim. A demo car of what this "Trans Am" package would look like, that BRE and this Marketing company the seller worked for were trying to sell. Some of his wording is a bit strange but I don't get what all the fuss is about? I think he meant "take his stock 510" to BRE and have them give it a mild upgrade and a make-over? Surely racing teams had marketing strategies to generate extra cash? He should have posted the questions he's been receiving on the auction. It's easy to get emotional when people start saying "that aint no BRE car" (as it sounds like people have been doing), when you worked with BRE to develop the car. I think he's in the best position to know what the car is. - if you take what he's saying as genuine, and I don't see any reason to doubt him. You either take him at his word or call him liar and a con man. Either way I agree with Marty. Nice condition 510, but not worth more than any other 510 in the same condition. The fact that it was a failed marketing concept car wouldn't make me want to pay any more for it. ....now back to my real life
  20. I wonder if the G37, GT-R and the next Z (Z34?) will be all based on the same chassis like the current z33/g35 coupe. Seems like a logical move to save costs.
  21. I've never seen a scuff plate before. All the zeds i've had (4 of them) never had them, and I've never noticed them on any other zed i've seen. Anybody got photos? I'll have to look out for them at the next club meet and see if anyone else has them.
  22. What about them? It's a Mk 4 C130 69-71 they did have a 2.4 liter engine. http://members.fortunecity.com/planetcedric/cedhistory.html
  23. Yes, I type "VIN", because its easier than typing "Chassis number".
  24. Yes, yes I do. But, if I had a big shed.......
  25. Theres a Datsun Super Six for sale on ebay-au. Tidy looking car, would be a great restoration project. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230109579225 The seller says it has a 2.4 liter engine, but I think they originally had a 2.3 liter.
