  1. Sound likes an air tool pitch/time shifted in some audio software. Do you even own a car?
  2. Check the wiring to the flasher unit would be my first choice.
  3. I think Lachlan already picked himself up a parts car. Got this form him in a PM "...like swapping teh gearbox out of my new parts car I got this morning, at 2am" He also said he was going to be out of the country for 4 weeks.
  4. a new paint job can hide a multitude of sins. If the shop is reputable and the pics show welded rust repair, not just bondo, then it should be ok.
  5. The VB catalogue nubers are for LHD HLS30 cars. The compliance plate is a more accurate measure of when your car was build. It was fitted when the car arrived in Austraila. So your car would probably be a 1976, or very late 1975, depending on how quickly they were loaded onto a ship and sent down under. If i had a dollar for everytime someone with a RHD HS30 240z looked up the numbers and claimed they had a 1969 240z....
  6. Twice pipes Gav. Get with the engrish.
  7. Its actually a copy of one that was/is known as the california z kit. the other parts being the wide body rear fenders, and whale tail.
  8. I wish they were cheap in Australia too.
  9. Can we get this moved out of the 240K section and into the Z section. Someone other than Alfa will have to do it, because he's on holidays.
  10. I get to work on my z about half a day a month. It's been a bare shell for almost 2 years, but no way would I sell it. I'll get it finished eventually. Just de-register it and stick it in a shed in the back yard. That way its not costing you anything. One day all your kids will move out, you'll retire, then you'll have plenty of time to bring it back to life.
  11. Not a z story, but my dad had an old beige Mitsubishi L300 van (dunno if you aussies got them, square box looking van forn the 80's) Anyway he was out driving, not too far from home and pulled up to a mini roundabout (the ones the councils stick in a perfectly good T junction in the middle of the suburbs to try and slow traffic flow) and pulling up to the other two entries were 2 other beige Mitsubishi L300's. They all stopped and looked at each other, and couldn't quite believe it.
  12. Hey Bill, who's Evan and does or doesn't he like G-Noses? . Inner skin, outer skin? The floors made of 1 sheet of metal. there is not inner and outer. Z floors seem to rust from the inside out anyway.
  13. Nope thats not a UK spec front spolier at all. Its a BRE type spoiler that lots of aussie 240z's had. If you cant tell the difference theres a thread about the uk front spoiler, just have a search for it. And the number plate is a skinny aussie one. Ok to mix it up a bit theres a 1973 240Z over here in Perth, original condition, never restored (Halz its your car i'm talking about your car) that has the thick chunkier door mirror that the some UK cars had. Heres a pic. On later 240z (my 72) the mirrors were fitted in Japan, as there a punched holes in the metal of the door, not drilled, as they would have to be, if fitted in Australia.
  14. I wouldnt worry about it. At least it will keep the exhaust fumes out of the car. Did you notice the big dent in the drivers door?
  15. Thats a Toyota S600. If you want to see one, visit the Fremantle Motor Museam.
  16. If you read the previous post the he says the halfshafts are the same length on the r180 as the r200. That would mke the answer to your question: false. Or Yes its true, the common rumor is (and i have read it myself somewhere) that they are different lengths, aparently due to the extra width of the r200 compared to the r180. So you can either believe what jmortensen says, from personal experiance, or keep believing the rumor. Its up to you. Seiouly what the point in asking questions if you arent going to read the answers? :stupid: *rant mode off* Welcome to the club. Seek any you shall find (ie use the search feature. its all been asked before).
  17. You've tried lossening the hinges and pusing them down as far as they go, but have you tried loosening where the bonnet bolts to the hinges and seeing if they is any adjustmet to be had there?
  18. I think theres some sort of saftey circuit that wont let the electric pump run when the car is cranking, or not running. I remember reading that in some other thread, but someone else that knows would have to confirm or deny that.. maybe a search might find it.
  19. I got a spare 2+2 tank if you are after one.....
  20. It rather own a 240K coupe anyway. or a C10.
  21. and another from the front Doesn't look too bad. I wonder how much he wants for it.
  22. Was hacking around on his website, and found a pic of the interior
  23. Yeah thats the one. Aparently he's got 2 of them, this is the spare one that he is selling. I guess his reasoning it that for a museam you only need one of each type. But all those cortinas look the same to me. Parts hard to find, yeah I get that with the Silvia, not that I had to look for much, but lots of roadster parts fit, which is good. If anyone wants a look: http://www.aussiemusclecarmuseum.com.au/
