  1. Yes there are. I've only seen them for sale in Japan though. Spirit Garage have them. ¥110,000 or 115,00 I dont read Japanese. www.spiritgarage.com http://s-garage.hp.infoseek.co.jp/gaisou2.htm
  2. What country are you in? The short answer Yes, .... and No. I guess it depends on the Speedway rules in your country as to why you are asking. What country are you in? The S30 series 2+2 did come out with fuel injection in the , but with the L20 and the L28, in Japan and the USA respectively, but the were called Fairlady Z in Japan, and 280Z in the USA. Australia never got the L28 (280Z) as the L26 of the (260Z was adequate for Australian conditions, the fuel we had at the time, and the market at the time) Dont Know what the story is in Europe. 240z, 260Z, 280Z, Fairlady Z are all S30 chassis cars. I think they stared putting FI on them around '76, but i'm just guessing.
  3. I think he is since he has had it in his car for some years now..... What he was really asking is if there was anyone else out there with the same nissan V8 in their Z.
  4. More than likely the turbo bits would be attached to a L20ET in australia. I know a guy with 6 of them lying around in his shed. Go the L28E with a big cam and extractors. With the instant power you'll leave the turbo boys at the line waiting for their turbos to spool up onto boost.
  5. Hmmm, depends exactly what you are asking. I think you are asking: can i rip out the entire front suspention from, a 72 and put it in a 78. In which case, not sure, but i dont really see why not, since you are replacing the whole strut assembly. Sounds like everyone replying, thinks you are asking: can i use 72 strut cartiges and springs in my 78 struts. In which case, no you cant. Heres why: 72 struts tubes have a smaller internal diameter than the later tubes. The later tubes are designed to have more travel (at the rear of the car at least, not sure about the front) than the 72 or so i have heard.
  6. Sad thing is that the cars will probably sit in the shed untill the the guy is too old to do anything with them. Does he seriously think he's going to be able to restore 20 cars when he retires? Maybe his Kids will inherit them, and sell them off cheap. I was at a wedding at recently out the pack of Perth, in upper swan, and spotted a derelict 69 mustang sitting in a paddoc in the adjoining property against the wire fence. It was between 2 shipping containers, with a makshift roof over it. I wondered if there were more mustangs in the shipping containers.
  7. Yeah that Jason's. Speed bumps are the cars nemisis. It cant get over them its so low. The paimt reallly gets peoples attention. Its funny watchin people looking at the car as you drive by them. They cant quite believe it. Go to the video page and have a look at the MC runs if you have cable (about 9 megs) if you want to see the full effect of the paint transitions. (it was quite possibly me that shot that video). You have to put the colour on the licincing here in Perth too. Its listed as chameleon, but they use 3 letters to describe the colour I think, so its just CHM. Jason has some plans for what they were going to do to the car, but its all very hush hush, so I dont think he would like me talking about it. I Think Jason got the car from Adelaide (with the paint already done). Pity the car looks pink or purple most of the time .
  8. Anyone Know anything about Fibreglass.? I have a front spoiler that doenst fit right, and was wondering if there was any way to temporarily soften the fiberglass, bend it to fit better and let it re harden. Is this possible?
  9. Huh? say what now? I think by that you mean the raised edge around the radio band display. I dont know but maybe someone else can help out.
  10. Try swapping the bars over from the parts car. It sounds like they are stronger. Mine is a 72 and the hood stays open without need ing the bonet stay. (untill a large gust of wind comes along
  11. Speaking of Supras, this guy's a mate of a mate. Its not so much the supra that gets the attention, its the paint job which changes from metallic green to putple and again to bronze, depending on the angle of the light bouncing off the car. So the cars 3 different colours at the one time. And it's not just show, it goes pretty hard to, and is a daily driver. http://members.westnet.com.au/nokternl/Mesmerize/main.html
  12. Is your car missing the torsion rod spring things? they do a pretty good job of holding the bonnet open, then theres the rod thingy ontop of the Rad support panel the locks into the bonet to stop it from closing. Does your car not have these parts? theres the bonet thingo in this pic: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=169&sort=1&cat=all&page=55
  13. Sounds like your clutch was slipping, which it does when they wear out and get a bit thin. You could try adjusting the rod on the slave cylinder (if the Z one is adjustable, I cant remember. It probably is). That migt give you a little more use out of it, but it would probably happen again, and you might get stuck miles from home. and you risk scoring the flywheel from the rivots in the clutch plate. Changing the Clutch isn't too difficult, but is not a job for a beginner. If you can afford to pay someone else to do it, its worth it to save youself the hassle.
  14. I guess you are not planning on keeping the car for very long, applying bondo straight to the bare metal like that. My car has been "skimmed" by the PO. and had already started to rust under the skim coat after only a couple of years.
  15. I had a rust free section from a RHD car that could have been used to repair the battery tray area of a LHD car, but got no interest, so it went to the crusher with the rest of the 2+2 shell.
  16. 240K owners. Wondering where all the 240K tail lights have gone? Damn celica owners have been pinching them. Warning: Sutpid tacky car modifications. http://www.classic-celica.com/modules.php?set_albumName=jdmcelicas&id=zen_ra28&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php
  17. The original flasher unit on my (the) 240z is bolted onto the pedal assembly, or dashboard right up under the dash (i found the original in when i pulled the dash apart) almost behind the speedo. (aussie cars didnt have hazard lights so i dont think it was that? but could be wrong i guess) I suppose its there so that the clicking sound seems to eminate from the indicater lights in the dash, instead of from the center console, where most replacement flashers seem to end up. Check that thats the indicator and not the hazard flasher. You should getatest lamp or multimeter and check that the switch actually works. check fuses. also check the globes. The indicators are fairly "mushy" to begin with and dont have a solid tactile on/off response like newer cars do. The mechanism also wears out, adding to the mushyness of the lever. Also the lugs in the actual switch wear out (just like in the headlight switch) so that they arent able to push the metal contact down far enough to make contact. I described a quick fix for my indicators that worked for me in another thread, try searching the forums for other threads on this too.
  18. If you are putting in a turbo, you should also fit a surge tank.
  19. Hey Tom. Get on over to www.wazcars.com and send an email to the contact address listed there. That will get you put on the Email list for the Western Australian Z register. Then you can ask for an email to be sent around to everyone asking for the bits you are after. One of the guys on the list has 19 z cars, so he has plenty of spare parts he is willing to sell.
  20. Me either. First time back, for a while and people are still having a go at people for expressing their opinions. So Carl you ment everyone except Alan? Maybe if you had anything worth ripping off you would understand his point of view. No whining! What's whining? If someone has a different point of view than you. Since when is this the classic z carl site. Why is your opinion more important that any other members opinion? If you dont like people whining, as you call it, dont read the thread. it's that simple. I'm outa here, and i'm not comming back for a very long time. And as far as making this site so the photos cant be downloaded, it hasnt even been attempted.
  21. Using my l33t haxor skills: all you have to do is change the url to: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?ppuser= and add the user id that is shown in the status bar when you hover over the user name. So gav to go straight you your gallery: http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?ppuser=1316
  22. You took the photo, you own the copyright. you can do with it as you please. The problem they guys are trying to highlight here would be more like: A Photographer (either amature or professional) took a photo (therefore owns the copyright) and someone else came along and by whatever means obtained a copy of the photo, which they then proceded to do whatever with (eg use it on a website, in a book etc) without obtaining consent from the copywright owner. i.e. someone spent the time and effort to produce something (whether it be 30 seconds or hours producing), and someone else came along ane ripped them off without the owners permission. Like when someone copys a CD. Whether you are trying to profit off it or not is not relevant. I'm no copyright lawyer, but i believe the photographer would have the copyright of the photo by default.
  23. Yeah Probably was a prince skyline, come to think of it. Think it was on the same page as a 240z. Dunno, was a month or two ago, on a weeknight. Sorry I cant be of more help. The last scene of the movie is the 2 door C10 driving around a train station parking lot, and picking up a girl that was waiting for the guy, I believe.
  24. There was a red 4 door for sale in one of those classic cars for sale, (dont know which one), last month on the eastern side of the country. Tho one in Perth is a KGC10. Its at http://www.c-red.com.au/oldsite/stock.html at the bottom of the page. and also at http://www.c-red.com.au/stock/kgc10/index.shtml $29K is alot of money for a replica isnt it? Somewhat off topic, but not completely, I was in a model shop looking at 240Z models and saw 2 C10 coupe models made by kyosho. One was standard and one was in racing livery. A bit more off topic, but still Syline related, I saw a movie on SBS (australian tv station, not the USA station). It was a japanese gangsta movie. The ganster types were getting around in a white 4 door C110, and the good guy (or at least the guy they were after) was getting around in a metallic silver C10 coupe. Only caught the last 20 minutes of the move, but it was cool to watch.
  25. About $11,305.64 USD at todays rates. I think to ship a car costs about $4000 to $6000 doesnt it?
