  1. I was looking at this photo and the comments http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10045&password=&sort=7&thecat=500 Bill says in the description its a 280Z wheel. and Inf says its a 240z wheel, which I agree with. But looking past the wheel, its also a 240z dash, 240z center console, and 240z door trims. they changed the dash for the 260z. So my questions: Did they change it back for the 280z (Unlikely) Is bills car actually a 240z and he mistakenly believes its a 280z(Bill's the only person that can answer that by checking the chassis numbers and id tags) Or did someone swap the interior out of a 240z and put it in a 280z. Check out the other photos. The interior belongs to the car with the alpine sticker i believe. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showgallery.php?stype=2&si=billramsey2002&cat=500&sort=1&ppuser=5338 Whats the story Bill?
  2. Yep. mine would be a 32 japanese woman with all the right curves in all the right places. extremely nice to look at, and even better get in and ride umm drive.
  3. These are in Perth. Not 7's and at the wrong end of the country but anyway. performance superlites, 15x6 with pirelli 205x60 dragos all in as new condition, caps and nuts $1050 Not mine, but i know the guy that's selling them. Link: http://www.wazregister.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11
  4. SJ curtis is collecting information about chassis numbers, but I think he is only up to about 30 cars. I might make a register page on our wazcars.com website so that people can submit their car details. But the infomation isnt any good unless you can access it. So I was thinkin that you would be able to seach it, but not see who owns the car unless they have clicked a check box to allow you to view their name. maybe have an anonymous contact form so that you can email them but not make the email address public. I'd also have a deceased cars section for all the 2+2 260z that have been crushed, or cut up for parts, or written off cars. Like the register at zcar.com but biased towards australian cars.
  5. They probably want the parts for their own car, othewise they wouldn't bother stealing them. theyd just break into the house and steal your video and tv.
  6. Well to go with the confidentiality laws, there are also freedom of information laws. You are not violating anyones privacy if all the information you get is chassis number, and whether the cars is currently registered, or date of last registration.
  7. It says one in europe and the car is located in sweden I wonder if its Silvia #70319, that was exported from Australia to sweden. Silvia #70319: http://w1.590.telia.com/~u59003583/ Heres a link to their website which has a pdf version of the cars for sale: http://www.classiccarsmagazine.co.uk/nav?page=classiccars.carsforsale Direct link to the pdf: http://images.classiccarsmagazine.co.uk/classiccars/classifieds/may.pdf The silvia is on page 6 under nissan. Looks like it could be the same car. Check out the 66 Datsun Deluxe 6 2000 on page 3.
  8. Gav, that would be from a skyline gtx (C110 series) probably
  9. datto_240z you are showing your age there. THose plates were only issued in the 1980's. If it had original plates they would probably be the black on white ones. Hey Cuong Where did you see this car?
  10. Just pull it out, pull the case apart, pull the motor off and connect it to a battery, and if it spins, then its working. screw it back on and lube the spindles with sewing machine oil, put it back together, connect it to a battery and see if it goes. it it doesnt giv it a bit of a shake. That what i did. and I left it sitting on my desk, connected to a battery for a couple of weeks. If you'd seen my car you would understand why.
  11. Yeah I saw that. It looks like it needs a lot of work. Definatly not worth the $4000 it was listed at. It's been on ebay since december last year, sitting in a shed rusting away. Poor car. Some people dont deserve cars.
  12. So whats a Silvia worth, generally speaking?
  13. So isnt the KGC10 Skyline supposed to have a S20 engine?
  14. I dont know how many posts he had, but he uploaded a load of pictures in the gallery. Number 2 at 459 pictures. Second only to Mike, this site's owner.
  15. Some info FYI aussie z car numbers: www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=86954#post86954
  16. Wow, this is an old thread that I found. I have that Book and the numbers for australia in it are as written, though i've heard that they might not be entirely accurate. but for the record Aussie Numbers are printed at (this is Export numbers by Nissan): 2seat 2+2 70 = 319 -- 71 = 894 -- 72 = 362 -- 73= 783 -- 74 = 442 599 75 = 198 742 76 = 385 1615 77 = 98 990 Sales Figures I have from a moder Motor magazine artical from Jan 1974 state: 110 unit sold in 1970 751 units sold in 1971 553 unit sold in 1972 the Final 73 figure were not available, but at the time of printing the total for 73 was 607 units (with a further 2 months of figures yet to be added to this sum). So that gives a total of at least 2021 240z sold in Australia (of course left over stock could have been sold in '74) .
  17. I'm guessing 71 because that what it looks like in the photo.., but the number i was looking at might be something else, other than the year. I'll try and track down some more information on the car from the owner, but I believe that he bought it as is, with the fairlady grill and fender mirror. Though it appears to be a "series 2 car" from the other photos i have, but i'll give it a thorough examination when i next see the car in the metal.
  18. So what sort of car was that to begin with? The window looks like a Mazda MX5 (Miata)
  19. As Darth Vader said "I find your lack of faith disturbing" I've seen the car, the compliance and nissan tags. What more "reported" proof do you need? Next time I see the car i'll take more notice of the numbers. It has the fairlady grill, fender mirrors, so i think its a japanese domestic model that was sent to australia. I took a photo of the plates. Looks like it arrived in Aus in 1971, but the photo is out of focus. So you all you non believers, heres the photo i took of the plates.
  20. The ADR compliance plate is fixed to the car when it arrives in australia. Austalian cars dont have dates on them except on the compliance plate. I'm not sure who fits the compliance plate. The date you car was made? how long is the boat trip from japan? The firewall is stamped above the brake booster, see my gallery for pics of my number. One of the guys here in Western Australia has HS30-00003. [Edit. Not 00003, i mis-read the blury photo I had of the tag. It was 00803. Lowest vin number on the WA register is 117]
  21. OMG! and you still bought it! Brave. I wouldnt do that to mine. Looks better in purple though. What engine you putting in it?
  22. Did you find that on the links page at www.wazregister.com or was it just a coincidence that I added that link to our wa site a couple of days ago?
  23. Yeah you will get that kickass feeling, when you realise you have been ripped off, you'll want to kick the sellers arse. Anybody else notice that theres a turbo, and an exhaust manifold, and a couple of other bits of junk one looks like a external wast gate, but no intake, plenum chamber or any kind of fuel delivery system. No dump pipe either. Also the way the turbo looks like it mounts on the exhaust manifold, looks like it wont fit in the engine bay. Stick with the factory parts.
