  1. I saw that some low-life was selling one of those tickes on ebay ealier in the week. Trying to profit from Steves Death is just wrong. The tickets were free in the first place. The price had gone up to 12 million dollars, obviously joke bids to try and teach the seller a lession. Imaging the final sale fee they would be charged by ebay, which would have been deducted form the sellers bank account regardless of whether the seller paid or not. They would then have to try and reclaim the money back from ebay via a non paying bidder dispute. Anyway it never got to that, ebay pulled the auction, and i presume, informed the police. I heard the seller was fined $2000. Not sure what the offence was. Scalping tickets is illegal isnt it? if so probably thats what the charge was.
  2. C10? Theres one in Perth. - its for sale, if you have a spare $30 grand. http://www.c-red.com.au/stock/kgc10/index.shtml Also aarc240 (or whatever his moniker is) said there was a C10 coupe in a Dealer showroom back in the 70's (somwhere in SA i think he said), so if its still around, thats another.
  3. To quote Cleveland from family guy: Oh, that's nasty! (I was talking about the picture of the rust, not what you said Jim )
  4. Added backward too, aren't they? I Thought the thick end should be at the back so the point out at right angles to the car. (Sames as the indicators should be at the front. Not saying the indicators on this car are wrong, I cant tell from the photos).
  5. Same story downunder. No L20A's either. A bit too anemic when compared to the other 6's on the market. Most aussie 6's of the time were around 3 litres.
  6. People spell it Sylvia, because thats how the persons name is spelt - I should know, it's my mums name. Have you seen how its translated by the translation sites, like google, bablefish etc. It's often translated to Sil-beer. Also Fairlady often gets translated as Fair-ready
  7. What you need to do is approach a Bodykit company, (Like the ones that do the VR ferrari kit for the S30) and have them buy one, and have it shipped to the USA, so they can take molds and reproduce it. Though I'm not sure about the legalities involved, re copyright etc. The alternative would be to get some foam blocks and carve up a blank, coat it in FG, and use that to make a mold.
  8. Your car is awesome Lachlan. Made me want to get one myself.
  9. Just in time for that car show in october, eh.
  10. So currently the forums reads: Sub-Forums: S30 Z Series - 240z, 260z, 280z, Zcar Conversions & Aftermarket, Datsun 240K How about : Sub-Forums: S30 Z Series - 240z, 260z, 280z, Zcar Conversions & Aftermarket, C Series Skyline (or Skyline C series). That covers all the current Skyline/240K people that post here I think (maybe with the exception of the Pre-C10 Skyline (cant recalll the exact chassis code), but I cant remember any owners actually posting here). Also it wont encourage newer skylines (R sereies - theres plenty of forums for them, www.r31skylineclub.com and www.skylinesdownunder.com etc ) and could not be confused with the S series Z. The distain Alan speaks of seems to be the reverse down under. Nissans are regarded fairly well, but Datsuns are regarded poorly, though of as rusted out thrashers and grandpa cars, except by people that own them, or know anything about cars.
  11. The L20B is the 4 cyl versions designation isnt it. Hence the 200B Datsun that was powered by the L20B?
  12. http://www.r31house.co.jp/ translated by google http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.r31house.co.jp/&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dr31house%2Bjapan%26start%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DN
  13. Heres the original Post and Poll from when I had the Other Datsuns idea in the first place. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11128 I think the idea behind naming the forum 240K was to stop the site being overrun with discussion about 4 cylinder datsuns. I think renaming the current 240K forum to "Datsun Skyline" would stop people mistaking it for the 240Z forum. I think there reason some people post in the 240K forum instead of the 240Z forum is this page: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/index.php I think people see Datsun 240.... sticking out on the end and thats all they read.
  14. I remember years ago suggesting an "Other Datsuns" forum for discussion about datsuns thats werent zeds, but for reasons you'd have to ask Mike about, he created it as a 240K forum instead.
  15. Hmmmm, I've read that there was a special Paul Newman version of the R30 Skyline, but never heard of a R31 Newman. I first heard the R32 called Godzilla by an announcer during the broadcast of the touring car races at the time it was raced.
  16. I saw the other post (with the pic) before this one so i knew what he was talking about. It's a fibreglass front end for the S130 in the style of a G nose, Made by somone in the UK. Doesn't look too bad, adds a bit of ZG class to the S130, and gets rid of the bulky bumper bars. Heres a pic from the other thread. see it for more photos, and info on availability.
  17. try emailing or pm'ing the guy (moggy240) that posted the pic of the zx g-nose on the other site.
  18. Hey Dafunkist, I wasn't trying to be rude, just trying to say the car was sold without letting everyone know I bought it, but I guess the cats out of the bag now. Plans for the car, hmm, fix the rust, some gtr spoilers and flares would be good.
  19. Latest News reports state that Peter Brock died at today (September 8, 2006), in a racing accident after colliding with a tree during TargaWest '06 in Western Australia, near the township of Gidgegannup. Brock was driving with Mick Hone in a Daytona Coupe. http://www9.sbs.com.au/theworldnews/region.php?id=131182&region=7
  20. Looks like a 5 pieces nose to me, just painted all the same colour. The one piece noses I've seen dont have the join moulded in between the headlight bucket and center panel, where the join would be if it were a 5 piece. If you look at the photo, you can see the line. Yeah its not a 1970 either. S31's were mid 70's (like 260/280 interior). It says its an S31 in the chassis number. Also the FI is a givaway for a later car, unless its had an engine swap. "ONE MORE THING DMV LEGALLY REGISTERED THROUGH THE VIN NUMBER AND IT CAME OUT 1970 NISSAN" I guess if you compare the chassis number S31011637 to a US spec S30 then S30 - 011637 would be in the range of a 1970 car, but of course you cant do that, so somone at the DMV really screwed up. ZT? Whats that again? ZL maybe? (I thought people added the T for turbo?) Nope S31's look like S30's.
  21. The laurel looks nice, except for the massive flares. I wonder if that ZG nose is an original nissan item.
  22. I dont understand why a JDM Fairlady is worth any more than an equivelent condition 240Z in the USA? I would have thought the 240z would be more desirable because of the extra performance of the L24 and the fact that you are sitting on the correct side of the car when driving in the USA.
