  1. I hate it when people in Australia list stuff for sale in US dollars. Its a cheap trick to make you think $1000 au dollars, but by the time you convert it to AU dollars its substantially more. Wonder what the reserve is. I remember seeing that car on carsales or carpoint, cant remember what the price was though. Looks ok, but new paint can hide a lot of rust problems.
  2. It had a big Z-shop logo on the bonet. http://www.zshop.net.au/
  3. I saw a new Shannons advert on the weekend featuring a green 240z, with two other cars (A blue triumph spitfire, and an xy Falcon from memory). Was on during the motor racing on channel 10. Anybody else see it?
  4. I have a haynes manual and it says the firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Cover is a little different. It has the book number above the haynes logo -28010 (206) , and a 'printed on recycled paper' logo bottom left. That must be a first edtion, with errors.
  5. floor looks pretty beat up. when that happens the sound deadening tar stuff bends or cracks and can come away from the metal (which is bare metal with no paint or undercoat at all) and eventually starts to rust under the sound deadening, and you cant see it happening untill it rusts all the way through to the other side of the metal. So whats supposed to be special about it? The datsun badge on the dash could have been added by anyone, like the datsun gear knob. Seats could have been retrimed.
  6. Heres a long shot, but does anyone know who made these Rear Strut Cartridges? They are from a 240z, painted black, and the only markings they have are a part number: 734603 and "Made in USA".
  7. I'd pull the intake pipe off the front of the turbo an check that it rotates freely and doesnt have any shaft play. You should try and find out from the PO why the car stoped running in the first place. I'll help you work out exactly what needs to be dont to fix it.
  8. Snap a photo if you can. what sort of price are they?
  9. If I was selling a car, and had a couple of intereted buyers, i wouldnt sell it to the first person that saw it. I'd give all the people a chance to look at it and see who had the best offer.
  10. Hardtop is generally used to describe a 2 door car, same as coupe. (I just got bored with saying coupe all the time.)
  11. Yeah I dont think they mind whether its a hardtop or sedan in Kuwait.
  12. Thats a Mazda RX-5 incase you were wondering.
  13. Take lots of photos for us Alfa. Try letting the guy that does the Japanese Restorer magazine know, if he doesnt already. He might be able to put it in his magazine or on his website. www.japaneserestorer.com.au (He's mazdajon on ebay).
  14. Or maybe he's taling about the "overfenders" in which case you can get them from here http://www.classicdatsun.com/new/240_glass.html
  15. Yep He's the man. I emailed RS Watanabe a while back and asked if they had an Australian Distributor, and they gave me Miki's Details.
  16. I know a few people with original hubcaps. Though they arent on their zeds.
  17. Australia and NZ got about 1% of the total production of 240z's, so good luck finding any hubcaps to import.
  18. 1976 240K GL Auto. Melbourne, Victoria. $1200 or buy it now $2000 <img src="http://i9.ebayimg.com/05/i/07/8d/75/76_12.JPG"/> http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140004108930
  19. A 280ZX in the USA/ Austrailia was known as a Fairlady 280Z in Japan. Same for the 300Z(X) i believe. This is a Japanese second hand import that was imported to Austrailia in the mid ot late 80's. Thats why they are calling it a 280Z. Theres was no such thing as a 280ZX in the Japanese market. Thats why i put the chassis code in (S130) so people would know it wasnt the S30 280Z.
  20. I cut an pasted the classified ad into a previous post, nowhere does it say its a coupe, or a 4 door.
