  1. There's something odd about your car. Looks like a 260Z (has 260Z tail light panel, dashboard, center tunnel trim etc), and those welds on the interior of the C panel, shouldn't be there. Also the back of the car appears to be green originally, while the front appears to have been gold, but you say its a 240Z? I don't think the roof has been replaced. I'm gonna take a wild guess here an suggest that the car has been rear ended at some point, and the back half of another 260Z has been welded on. I expect you'll find the join in the floor, here (where the rust is behind ridge after the seat mounts) to go with the welds in the C panel. : Personally I wouldn't want to be putting a V8 in a cut and shut car. I wouldn't even want to own one. I hope I'm wrong for your sake. Pull the cover off the trans tunnel and see it there is a welded join there.
  2. I do, but there is a set on ebay right now if your interested (Not mine). In SA too.
  3. KPGC110 was the only C110 that had rear discs.
  4. Its brake not break. Don't wanna break the Z.
  5. Now you're really confused. Your thinking of the the 4 cylinder L series right? As used in the bluebird 510 and others. The Fairlady roadster never had an L series. The L20A looks exactly the same as an L24. The fairlady you saw would have had an engine swap. There were no twin cam roadsters, that I'm aware of. Some schoolin on the L series: 4 cylinders: L14 (also used in the 510 in various markets) L16 (as used in the 510) L18 (also used in the 510 in various markets, 610) L20B (used in the 200B, 910 etc) 6 cylinders: L20 (Cedric motor) L23 (Cedric motor) L20A (Fairlady Z and other JDM vechiles) L24 (240Z, 240C, 240K, Cerdic, etc) L26 L28
  6. I posted this before in regards to one of your posts, but you must not have read the reply. The Fairlady Z did not have an S20 engine. It had an L series, the L20A. The only S30 that had the S20 engine was the 432 (regular and R versions).
  7. There were no Left hand Drive Farilady Z's. Its possible it was converted to LHD by a previous owner, but I doubt it. Fairlady Z badge was reserved for the Japanese market, which is a RHD country. One sure way to tell is the chassis number. If its starts with HLS30 the car is a fraud. It's more likely that is it is a 260Z or 280Z that he, or a previous owner has slapped Farilady Z badges on in some misguided belief that the 260/280Z is the same as a JDM Fairlady Z or Fairlady 240Z. Big fuel fillers were standard on the early Z's. Nothing special there. Headers are not stock, but were available after market or from Nissan. I bet the GT badge is from some other car.
  8. So its right hand drive then? There was no "GT model"
  9. Interesting article and pictures. http://speedhunters.com/archive/2010/03/18/car-builder-gt-gt-ta-auto.aspx
  10. You forgot the S31. ....waits for someone to explain boat anchors and flat tops...
  11. Just did a bit of research. Remember that tidy bronze 240K up in Qld that was a deceased estate sale. The auction was canceled, because the owner got an offer of around $3000 for it, so sold it to the guy that made the offer, instead of letting the auction run. Then the guy that bought it (Alex, who was in Minchinbery NSW, and ran an ebay business selling imported stuff) put it back up on ebay a few months later for $7000. then changed the lising to a buy it now for $12,000. Of course no one bought it, so back on ebay it went for $6,900, no sale, but an offer of $6000. Stated in the listing they were worth heaps in Japan. Not sure how much it eventually sold for though. The full discussion: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21279 Well anyway this seller is also in Minchinbery NSW, bought the car a few months ago for alot less than $12,000 (though he does reckon he spent 5 grand on wheels and tyres), seems to think they are worth 50 grand in Japan, and runs an ebay business selling gym equipment. Sound familiar? I'd bet his name is also Alex.
  12. Its back. New owner is selling it it appears. Now asking just under $12,000. Man these cars are getting expensive. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170458540150 He's under the delusion that once all the GTR parts are bolted on the car will be worth $50,000.
  13. Your wrong. S30 is a valid chassis code for a Fairlady Z. HS30 meant it was either a 240Z or a Fairlady 240Z Your wrong too. S30's had and L20 in them. PS30 has the S20.
  14. And a car that's rolled the odometer once past 99,999. Was there something unique about the 77? or is it unique like my 72 Z isn't a 71 or a 73
  15. No there is no L28ET stamp. Just L28 on the block.
  16. I don't think it would work. They are very strong when trying to remove them at 90 degrees to the surface they are attached to, but relatively easy to slide, and the forces acting on the rear spoiler would be more of the sliding type. Unless you have a corresponding magnet bonded to the hatch for each one bonded in the spoiler, and a couple of locating dowels to stop sliding movement I don't think you would have much luck keeping it on the car at speed. But then doing all that defeats the purpose I believe you bought them for - not having to drill holes in the car. I don't think the magnets will have any noticeable affect on your radio reception. I don't think your car will be attracting shopping carts in the supermarket car park any more than a shiny new paint job would. I had the same thought about using magnets for attaching ZG flares, but I doubted that it would work, so never bothered experimenting. Maybe when the hybridZ guys do another wind tunnel test they can test magnetic spoiler attachment.
  17. How about this thread gets deleted? No point having old for sale ads on a car forum when the car has been sold.
  18. Confirmed. Front windows and window trim are different between the sedan and the coupe. I thought they were, but measured them to be sure. Sedans window is more upright and is taller than the coupe. The coupe's is on more of an angle, but is also shorter.
  19. I'll be selling the door cards off the sedan. They are in pretty good condition. Any ideas on worth, or should I just ebay them. They'll be a problem to post. Have to courier them I expect.
  20. I believe it's the bracket hat holds the boot onto the center console.
  21. Ah yes. Its the Zoidberg 3000. Drives sideways and the engine makes a woob woob woob woob noise.
  22. There's a very clean C210 coupe on ozdat that might be for sale. http://ozdat.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=20762
