1. Ok K guys. Explaing to me the difference between 240K standard tail lights, and 240K GT® tail lights. Whats the diff?
2. P.S. Yat Ming is Road signature. Yat Ming is the company name, Road Signature is a brand name. And Sun star arent that bad, about the same as Road signature, better in some ways, but worse in others. Kyosho are the best though, in Die cast. Anyone got any ebbro? They always seem to look a bit dodgey in photos. Yes, but there should have been
3. Open the door of the yat ming/road signature. then you will notice the discrepecies between the yatming, and the real thing, or even teh sun star or kyosho. And i'm not talking about the interior..... I'm talking about the door window frame.
4. What new 350Z? You mean the one that been around for about 4 years now? I did this fo a thread discussing the looks of the 350z when it was new here (see page 3) The bottom pic is my photoshopped version of what it should have looked like. keeping the classic proportions of the 240, and getting rid of the ugly toad-bum like rear. They kinda grow on you a bit, but i wouldnt trade my 240 for one. Go the ugly toad! Still waiting for the metallic green one. rib-bit.
5. Get a series 2 center consloe, and it will look stock, apart from the fact that its a series 2 console, but hey, you have a 5 speed,, so you cant be that concerned that it isnt 100% original.
6. Ha! Z parts in a wreckers. Not bloody likely! Though you can find 260z 2+2 bumpers in the classifieds, but you usually have to buy the whole car.
7. Jees mate, get a sense of humour. Your gonna need one around here.
8. r16 was the standard engine for this car, so i'm guessing thats whats in it.
9. Ok heres your chance to own one of these ultra rare coupes. [edit] Bidding has ended, but you can still contact the seller as the car is still for sale. Silvia CSP311 for sale on ebay Australia: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4536210643&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT Starting at AU$7000 ($5,387.86 USD at todays rates www.xe.com) or buy it now : AU$8500 ($6,543.12 USD at todays rates www.xe.com) I believe it costs around $4000 to ship a car internationally from australia, but thats just something ive heard, so check it out if you intend to bid, before you bid. Dont waste this guys time, like the last bidder did. Its not my car, and ive never seen it, so dont ask me any questions about it, because i wont be able to answer them. All questions should be directed to the seller via the ask seller a question link.
10. I thought they were used with turbos, as i've only seen them on turbo cars. A couple of friends of mine have twin turbo supras. One has the dash mount one with the big readout to keep the passengers amused, the other has a simple one thats just an adjustor knob and a couple of l.e.d.'s. They use them to supply more fuel at high boost.
11. Oh yeah and ricers love the ones with big digital readout that display a bunch of crap like throttle % and rpm and other usesless crap that they will have time to read while cruising slowly down the nightclub strip, with the doof doof music pumping.
12. SAFC dont supply any pefromace benefits out of the box. As far as I know they are for cars running higher that factory turbo boost settings, and allow you to adjust the air fuel ratio for the higher boost setting, where the factory computer would otherwise supply normal air/fuel mix, but under increased boost it would be to lean. So the SAFC allows you to trick the computer under highter bosst into supplying more fuel to the mix. So unless your cars turboed and modified, you dont really need one. And if you have a programmable engine managment computer you wouldnt need one either.
13. Whats a matter carl, getting blind in your old age? It was from post number 1. You can go back and read the whole post you will clearly see that sentence.
14. No Carl you are wrong. He was referring to an E88 cylinder head.
15. Think you mean E88. Either way, sounds like someones got the z bug.
16. How much you get it for if you dont mind me asking. (you can wait till the cars firmly in your posession before answering if you like).
17. Doesn't really matter to me how much the cars rise in value, I'm never selling mine
18. Car # 160 is still for sale on www.ozdat.com. Remember that car ("twisted frame running from the cops" should jog your memory), It was on ebay, the thread about it is probably one of worst threads on here. He also wants $4500 for it.
19. They aren't for lowering, there for that stiff sporty feel (and do a good job of bending the springs.
20. Cool because it had the elemets of a good video, with an unexpected twist at the end. very cinamatic. What happend is that the 4 cars drove into a blind tunnel way to fast to find that once inside it made a sharp turn to the right, and the cars were goung way to fast to make that turn. The 350z oversteered and the back hit the wall. the 260z understeered into the wall, (didnt roll, that was the passenger dropping the camera in panic), and looks like from the damage the silver 350 rear ended the 260. Well thats what i think happened.
21. This is a cool video.... http://www.sr240z.com/videos/images/260zt.wmv
22. Other 240K parts incorrectly listed as 240Y (i sent the guy an email and informed him of his mistake) Steering wheel http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32063&item=4534600472&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW rear panel and tail lights http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=32063&item=4534601403&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
23. Used to be white too. Would make a good project car. $250 is cheap enough. Cost about $700 to get a car shipped over to WA I believe, if its running and can be driven onto the truck or train. Haven't seen any K's around latey. The reason they are so rare it that the 510 guys (datsun 1600) scrap them for the suspension and brakes to upgrade their cars. Someone's had a 240k sedan shell and bits for sale in the quokka and I think on ozdat.
24. I said "If you work out the power to weight ratio of both cars theres not much in it." Power to weight ratio based on the figures given above by other people 240z power 151 HP, weight 2400 pounds 280z power 170 HP, weight 2700 pounds (yes 300 pounds iq quite alot more) Do the maths: 240z power to weight = 1:15.894 280z power to weight = 1:15.882 Thats just a fact! based on the quoted power and weight figure. If they are wrong blame someone else. Straight enough for you? The 240z didnt have more power stock than a 77 FI L28.
