2 Seater Production Numbers
I apologise if this thread has been discussed b4. Wanted to know everyone's thought's on how many 2 Seater "body style" cars are left in the world. I have done some research on production numbers, and propose the following: If we assume 240/260/280Z cars are included, the time span is from 1969 - 1977 (correct me if i am wrong, as we didn't get 280Z cars in Australia). I have added up the production numbers, across all continents and have come up with a final figure of: 310,336 units: 2 Seater Coupe cars produced Question: How many do we think are left? Could 50% of these cars over 30+ years be destroyed/rusted etc.

240z Fuel Overflow
I own a 1973 Australian delivered 240Z. I ask the following question???? When cornering hard left in the 240Z, fuel leaks out of the "overflow" tube that exits from the "Petrol filler neck" which is the main tube used when filling the car. The "overflow" tube is a breather tube, and sits behind the rear wheel. Due to the forces of inertia, during hard left turn, the fuel in the tank is pushed to the right and up the filler neck, where it enters this "overflow" tube and ends up spraying out the back of the car!. Presents a problem when friends are following you!!. Can I block this hose off? or do I need to get a one-way valve to allow the tank to breathe?. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

73 240Z
I used to work at a service station. I would park the car right out the front... this was when it was Green, you couldnt miss it. Customers would always ask about it, and I loved watching it during my shift. It was always a conversation point.

Totalled my 280Z... pictures inside....
My 2 cents.... As someone previously commented. The 240Z and even 260/280's are becoming 30+ yrs old. If you race your car on the track, or drive it every day, you increase the chance of having an "incident". I understand that the reason we own Z cars is to "drive" them. My concern rests with the fact that we are dealing with a finite resource, that is, donor or parts cars. There will come a time when we simply cannot source panels and parts for our beloved Zed's. The message is... look after your car as best you can, they are becoming more sacred every day.

Smoke Em!
Sorry... Not a Z. I was 18yrs at the time, it was my first car, a Sigma (Chrysler) Brown Sation Wagon. I would never treat my Zed like this!

Get that Paint Code!!
Maserati 3200 GT (Anyone got AU $200,000?) This was the colour that I chose for my 240Z. "Gran Turismo Yellow" as seen at the Melbourne Motor Show 2001

Adjustable Control Arm Bush
Yep. I am also curious as to whether this item results in a stiffer ride due to there not really being any "rubber" in the mount. I do not have a baseline for comparison, as i changed everything at the same time. i.e. control arm bush, pinion bush, rack mounts, castor bar, sway bar mounts, tie rod ends, ball joints, and added Koni Dampers and stiffer springs. All I know is, when it hits a bump, make sure the harness is on tight and forget about hanging on to the steering wheel!!!

Burning the Midnight Oil!
I can remember scrubbing my hands, and it still wouldn't come off!! Then having to explain to colleagues and clients when they notice the grease what I was doing. It then gets worse when they don't know what a 240Z is! So in the end I just gave up and did the best i could.

Sparco Seats
The model name is "Torino". Easy to fit, all you have to do is make up a bracket to attach the seat itself to your factory seat runners. Most people use angle steel, or just a piece of flat bar 4-5mm thick. Obviously make sure it is safe and secure. The biggest problem with aftermarket seats in a Z, is getting one that fits the cabin. The torino is reclinable.

240Z and GTS SKyline
On open road, the 240Z overtook this skyline. The turbo on the GTS could not cope with speeds in excess of 170k.p.h.

MSA Speaker Panel
If you like tunes... and you want to hear them, I strongly recommend this product. Fits pefectly, looks great. Sounds Awesome! Of course there is no better music than the sweet sound of the Z exhaust at full throttle!
