    Bump for Saturday's Broward Meet
  4. Hey Chris, that is a shame what has happened since the convention. The ZCCA has really faltered in helping local clubs grow, they have the ear of Nissan but local clubs see no benefit from that. We have joined ZCCA to help support it plus the insurance coverage they provide, but if they resort to adding non Z's to help it and the convention grow rather than put the efforts into growing Z participation I am out. Come on there are what? about 150k 350Z's in the US?
  5. well koz I don't need luck, my club is flourishing without any problems and keeping it only Z's, we started in 2002 when the 350Z came out and made a point of contacting a local Z club that had been dying and joined forces and have made it successful with just Z's, the subject has even come up about including G's and my members have loudly said NO If the Windy Z club didn't have anyone to run a site or forum why didn't you guys appproach them to do it instead of starting a new one. I AM SORRY A G is not a Z 2+2 if it was Nissan would have called it a Z 2+2, they don't have Infiniti in Japan and guess what it is called there a NISSAN SKYLINE!!!! so this argument is just an excuse for people like yourself to include the G's As far as what Z is included we welcome any that has a chassis designated as a Z, whether they have done an engine swap or changed to non Nissan mirrors.
  6. well why wasn't that energy put into making Windy City Z Cub better rather than creating another club, which by the way is not a Z club with the mix of cars you have in it, that is one thing I have refrained from doing with my club, only Z's are members, diluting it for the sake of numbers takes away from it rather than add to it. And I was a 350Z owner first so it is not that I am die hard old schooler and want to keep non Z's, I believe that a Z club should be for Z's, if the ZCCA decides to start including non Z's in the mix that is when my club leaves the ZCCA. it will be interesting how many members remain members in ChicagoZ when it is time to pay up as you will have expenses associated with being a ZCCA member club in addition to the incorporation costs.

  13. I have always been into Z's, in college a buddy had a 72 240Z that I loved, then when I was a grown up the Z32 TT caught my eye but too broke to buy one, then the 350Z came out and I was looking for a new car and it was coming out so I had to get it, mainly because it was a Z. Then I went backwards, I came across a nice Z32 TT a couple of years later at a great price so I jumped on it, then this year I came across a nice 240Z and had to jump on it. I have my favorite Z's in the garage, no more room.
  14. Well I was disappointed once again by the slim pickings of classic Z's in attendance, hmmm ONE, I wish mine was ready. From reading this forum I see there is some dislike if not hatred for non classic Z's which is interesting since most non-classic Z owners love the classic Z's, you constantly hear from the younger crowd about relatives owning them if not owning themselves. And when one shows up the guys/gals are all over them. Any way I step off my soapbox and on to pics. Well for the northerners this will hurt, we had an awesome day, clear skies and 80 degrees It was a great turnout and some great photo opportunities, more pics here http://www.sfzcc.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7355

thanks for pics Ron, I am going blind looking through the borescope, I rechecked and I think the abnormality in the surface was an optical illusion from the scope, I could not see it again. I also checked the valves by turning the crank 1/4 of a turn at a time and sticking the scope in to check the valves and could see them open up easily, again no seats lose, and they seem to close fully, I could not see a gap at all. I am not familiar with older engines or carburetors at that, but the engine including the intake/exhaust ports as well as the valves look like they have a lot of carbon build up for only 34k miles. I am thinking of cleaning intake and exhaust paths as well as valves and pistons with some carb cleaner, then change the oil, lube the pistons a bit and try it again and see, I just don't see why the piston would not have any compression specially 0
