Best Weather Stripping Kit?
the dealer is an option, I have ordered about 90% of the weatherstripping from the dealer, probably spent more than if I had gone with MSA or anyone else but I wanted to explore Nissan first and then will get the remainder from the other vendors. Some is expensive but other stuff may surprise you, worth a shot

yes I agree it is a "rust free" 240Z, when I compare to others I have seen with major rust and holes, it makes this look like a cream puff I have been getting a bunch of stuff from the dealer, things I keep hearing people say the replicas are not great mainly the weatherstripping, not cheap, but with our shop discount it is easier to swallow, I may be going a bit over board but that is how I am, I just don't want to put all of this work into it and stop short for a few bucks, I see some many beautiful "restored/refreshed" Z's that look great at 10 feet but as you get close you see some of the things they cut corners on, and I know it will drive me crazy if I do it on mine.

Well another productive weekend, got the tranny out, also got some more dry ice and got the rest of the insulation off. I wasn't sure I was going to be able to finish the insulation since there was more than I thought under the tranny tunnel trim and hard to put the ice on the sides of the tunnel but that was probably the easiest to get off. Found some more rust fortunately only surface rust so far. Still happy with the amount of rust it is really not bad, I again recommend to anyone thinking about "refreshing" an older Z to go deep or this rust will surface eventually worse Driver Side Passenger Side section of the tunnel had corrosion I didn't expect, I had to drill out the screws that held the center trim as they were rusted in, maybe the previous owner spilled something

240Z based 2000 GT replica
looks nice but while spending the money why not just have a great looking Z I might do the GTO or Cobra but doubt I would do the Toyo

well not too much done lately, got the interior vinyl off, wiring harnesses out, just have the roof interior and the rest of the insulation to come off and then to the body shop. I did just spend bout 600 bucks on weatherstripping and miscellaneous rubber parts, amazing how much you can still get from the dealer, but the list is still long, I might be going a bit crazy but being that I will probably spend a small fortune before I am done I don't want to skimp on minor stuff, even got a tailgate glass weatherstrip

Nissan FAST System
haven't installed it on Windows 7 so no help there, but you are right "S30" and "1177" should be right I put in "S30" and "0271" and it works on my Windows XP laptop

Best Weather Stripping Kit?
the precision site is weird you have to pick Nissan instead of Datsun to get more choices in parts, Datsun only gives a result of about 8 while using Nissan gives about 22

One step closer, I worked on getting the insulation off. The dry ice method is awesome, wouldn't do it any other way. I didn't have enough or the right technique at first so didn't get it all but enough to see that I had some surface rust under the insulation, so anyone that thinks they do not have rust guess again, at least it is just surface rust so far, anyone doing any kind of body work should really do this and not assume it is rust free. Here is a spot by the spare tire I found under the insulation And here is under the passenger seat area And the passenger side floorboard, still have some to do there and the driver side And this is a piece that came off, definitely easier than trying to peel it off

Valve Adjusting
I would have thought 200 psi would be good, but a moot point for me, as I made the decision to go deep on the Z, I am almost done completely tearing it down to take it to the body shop. I did take the head off and found what looks like 3 pistons that hit the valves Piston 4 Piston 5 Piston 6 Engine is out More pics on the link in my signature

Well a little more got done, got the engine out. I think I am going to just finish off the interior, harnesses, fuel lines, brake lines, which should not take long and then to the shop to take off the drivetrain and suspension to get it on the rotisserie for the body shop. And then start the rebuild of the engine and restoration of all of the parts to go back on

Hagerty NAZI Gestapo/ Regular Insurance Dolts
Statefarm is the only one I have heard of doing this, but it probably wont be as cheap as collector's insurance Grundy is working for me, only restriction is not to daily drive it to work, and since I work from home, no biggie for me. Main thing for me was that they allowed me to insure my heavily modified 350Z since i had the 240Z and 300ZX insured with them, which with the years was making me nervous to have to live with blue book value in the event of a loss, this way I was able to insure for the full amount including value of modifications.
