yeah if my body man is stuck doing homework I am not sure I would be using him, not sure if the funny part is the end product or that this kid actually picked this guy to do the work.

what a joke, kids! when I had gotten the quote for 250.00 for the whole lip kit I would have ran not walked away, even at 750.00 final charge it is still cheap for a good body shop, between paint and install for all of the parts I would have expected around 1000.0 based on stuff I have had done to my 350Z. nothing makes up for doing your homework.

it is a shame the Nissan doesn't get more involved with local clubs, they could provide so much assistance, not just money but logistics and reaching potential members, because the dealers are useless in that matter.

  10. Drag Strip Challenge When: Saturday October 18th Time: 4:30 pm Where: Moroso Motor Sports Park 17047 Beeline Hwy. Jupiter, FL 33478 Click Here for Map Cost: The entry fee for each race day will be $30. This will get car and driver into the track and racing. Spectators are welcome and entry is $13 for an event. I have a friend that runs the Corvette Challenge at Moroso and this is the trial run to do something similar for the Z's, this event will serve as the trial run to see if there is enough interest and people enjoy the event before committing to a full season in 2009 at which time the events would be once a month on Saturday nights. It doesn't matter how fast your car is just how well you run the quarter mile, a 150hp car could beat a 600hp car. The Challenge is based on 1/4 mile bracket racing, which works as follows: On race night you are given a couple of runs, which are used just as practice, and to see what times your car runs. Then at eliminations (same night) which are single elimination tournament style, it's you against one other racer. You select a time that you think your car will run. That's called your dial-in. When two cars compete, they subtract the dial-ins, and the slower car gets that much of a head start. The theory is that if both drivers get identical reaction times, and both run what they predicted, they will meet right at the finish line... a tie. In practicality, this never happens. Reaction times will differ, and the car may run quicker or slower than predicted. If you run quicker than your dial, you lose! This is called a breakout. Basically, this means that you want to guess exactly what the car will run. If you guess far quicker than what the car can run, you won't be able to run fast enough, and your opponent can easily beat you to the finish. If you guess far slower, a practice called sandbagging, it is very likely that you will break out and lose. Also if people are not familiar with the rules you can read them here http://racemoroso.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=category&sectionid=8&id=4&Itemid=26 Here are main ones: · Valid State Issued driver's license. If under 18 years of age, must have minor waiver signed by a parent or guardian. · Long pants and full T-shirts required. No tank tops. · Seat Belts. · Hub caps and trim rings removed. · No cracks in windshield. · Good Tires. · If using nitrous oxide system, car must have sticker in rear window. If bottle is in driver's compartment, it must have relief valve vented outside of compartment. · 13.99 or quicker must have Snell 2000 or 2005 helmet. · Convertibles must have roll bar if running 13.49 or quicker. · Roll bar is mandatory in Street Legal cars running 11.00 to 11.50. Nissan list price for rotors and pads is around 5k 350Z Nissan OEM Brembo rotors and pads are around 2300, sounds high right"? but plenty of aftermarket options that are much cheaper, so I am sure there will also be cheaper options for the GT-R yes it is a supercar but it is still a Nissan so ownership costs wont be at the Ferrari level

  23. wow prices went up from last year
  24. not to confuse things, but at Daytona you had to have event credentials to enter the show area or at least be in a car with the a driver that had credentials. That I believe was not due to the show organizers but due to the show being held in the Daytona Speedway and the speedway required people to be cleared to enter the speedway, so just something to check and make sure something similar doesn't apply at Cleveland.
  25. Last year at Daytona was my first one, luckily it was so close to home, and I have to say it was more than I expected. For those that say they wont go because they are not into car shows, this is more than just a car show, I entered the non judged show just to be part of it, didn't hurt I won people's choice but I just loved spending the day looking at some incredible examples of Z's and the rest of the week looking and talking and having a great week. Also I got to meet or reacquaint with some great people, and realized how many were from Florida we are lucky down here, 26th/Carl/Zwolf/George71....... Also got to meet some personalities in the Z world like Johnnie Gable, Mad Mike, Fred Jordan.... and everyone else, it is an experience not just a car show, if you are within driving distance and don't go you are missing out in a great experience, I was planning on going but couldn't get it worked out, still trying but probably without a Z if I go.
