Triple carb install = won't start!!??
Hi Eric, Some people will shudder when I say this, but try a squirt of starting fluid into the carbs. Just a small squirt to see if it will fire. If it does fire on start fluid then more in likely it is something in the carbs. Mike

Great 1970 Z car in Grassroots Motorsports Magazine
I have to agree with you guys on that one. By the time the next issue is out my last issue is pretty much worn out from me flipping through the pages for ideas. I use to buy them at the newstand until I saw the " Free" trial issue. I went online and ordered the freebie and was really hooked.

phosphoric acid for rust
The proper way would be with primer then paint over the top, but if the area isn't exposed to sunlight much you could get away with just POR -15 . I need to repaint my battery tray area myself, but not until another motor goes in.

phosphoric acid for rust
I use Oxalic acid to clean rust and aluminum parts. I buy it by the gallon at paint stores. It isn't as hot as other acids and works great cleaning stuff off. You just have to remember to coat what every your cleaning right away.

Does anybody have wheels like these?
Lug nuts aren't a problem. Look at this link : http://www.wheelcomponents.com/ And then go click on accessories/car/lugnuts I think in that order. They wouldn't allow me direct link to the lug nut page. They have tons of styles of lug nuts. Including the step washers that you need to install the ZX wheels with the huge holes in them :-)

spherical bearing TC rods from MSA show...
THe Japanese ones in the picture are $$$$$$$$ they also have another setup that is less expensive. Mike Kelley's from ZF Suspension's are the least expensive and are fully adjustable on the car. Links to his set up pics are here : http://photos.yahoo.com/dat74z2001 His sell for $850 a set I believe and he is throwing in a set of rear Control arm bushings. Mike

Shimming R180 LSD diff
Eric, Are you planing on changing bearings and seals at the same time ? John Coffey mentioned a driveline place in the LA/Orange County area that set up his R180 and the Quaife. He had everything the brearings and seals done during the install. $150 sounds pretty fair for adjusting breakaway pressure. I have seen people spend hours trying to get it right. Mike

Nismo extended wheel studs
Hi Eric, Here is the pic of the front air dam. Note that it doesn't have any brake ducting in it. It is solid straight across. http://users.adelphia.net/~bitterroot/brespoiler.jpg Thanks, Mike

Nismo extended wheel studs
Eric, The one in the photo has the brake ducts in it. The one I have is straight across. Same style, but without the brake ducts. I will get a shot of it tomorrow an upload it to my website. Mike

Nismo extended wheel studs
The front spoiler on my car pic isn't the one I want to trade. The one I have is the BRE Spook non vented spoiler that attaches to the lower valance. It has never been installed. The one in the picture had to go to the dump. Idaho isn't the best place to be for any type of ground effects. The spoiler in that pic sure plowed plenty of snow :-) I will wait to see what Eric wants to do before I make any decissions.

Nismo extended wheel studs
Hey Eric, You interested in trading for a BRE rear or front spoiler. I have both and am not going to use them. The rear has been mounted but never painted. Thanks, Mike

Nissan Motorsports Euro Spring part numbers
I always thought it had to do with corner weights on the Z , but I am not sure if that is why. I have a set of used Eibachs here and they we marked by the guy I got them from. He reminded me not to put them on the wrong side.

Bsp 240z
John really hit the question on the head with his answers. The question are going to be a serious autocrosser or racer. I have looked into this alot. Am I willing to fork out 10 to 25K on a dedicted racer. I don't have that kind of money , so my answer was no. I am going to mess around with my car and use if for Street Mod 2. I think the days of a Z being competitive at the regional and nationals level in BSP are about over. I noticed that Vic Sias it running a BMW now in Street Mod. MY early plans call for just going through the suspension and making sure everything is either new or redone. I am also going to go through my stock braking system. These are things that I would have to do anyway to have a good running car. John and others recommended I take a drivers school first. I did look into some driving schools and have plans to take a few of them. Again this is something I would do if I was going all out or just recreational. The best thing is with the plan I have I am not wasting money on things that I would have to change later. John and a few others really pointed that out to me. Thanks John for some more great information !! Pictures of my car are coming soon ;-)
