hahaha.Its not THAT bad! You guys make it sound like once I take it out of my driveway its gonna fall to pieces.haha. My brother got the car for me when I was in japan and he Flat towed it home with no problems.You know just pulling it with another car with rope. And we have big speed bumps near my and it didnt collapse.hahaha oh and no not pop rivet onto rust.im not that stupid.Get rid of all the rust then see what I can pop rivet to.

oh ok.kool! So what do you think these engines can handle? 125 shot?150 shot max?

I was thinking of just pop rivet some metal in so I can drive it to my friends.What do you think?

only a 50 shot? Maybe your just being safe?! I thought these engines can handle at LEAST 75shot.My little 4 banger can handle 100HP! You can go 125 shot but thats like the max on stock engine!

K.here's the thing.I'm almost positive the problem is my carbs but my dad says I should check compression etc before I assume its the carbs.Just thought I'd see what you guys think.Now for the symptoms: I havent drove it but did this while on a jackstand(brother had to use rim)hehe.I can start the car.Idles fine.But if I step on the gas all the way car will just run rough and RPM's wont go go up at all.Just sound's like its being overchoked with gas or something. RPM's wouldnt go up so I decided to mess around and if I put the gas pedal about 1/4 and it'll run rough but I hold it there for a little while then slowly rev about 3/4 then full then it'll run rough then finally start to rev and RPM's skyrocket just like normal. Hope you can understand.If not I can try to explain better.Sorry!

hahaha.yeah. but im just preping for the future. Little nitrous for 1/4 mile runs here and there wont hurt. Want N/A but thinking bout nitrous for those drag encounters! ^-^

Does anyone have any experience with nitrous in their Z? How much nitrous can a L24 engine take? I know these engines are strong and 6 cyl..so I would think pretty much. sorry.I didnt know to put this here or in modified z cars.

Oh.Since they only sell floor/rails. What metal do you reccomend to fix the firewall/battery tray? I'll just trash the battery tray but need to fix the whole it left.haha

I poked most of it before I took the pics.Its mostly on the passenger side.If I look harder I can probably find some on the driver side but not as bad as passenger side. I was taught somewhat of welding from a friend but dont have a welder.But for now I have another friend who can weld for me. Thanks for all the help guys!!! I really just want to see what happens on a big speed bump.common.dont you?! haha

I love Nissans!!!Although I have to admit I also love rx7's. But the 240z is a whole nother ballgame then the sentra etc. Its like having a 1999 firebird then buying a old hot rod. Totally different.Much to worry about in restoration etc. Thanks again!

Hi everyone.I'm new to this board as you can tell.I'm a proud new owner of a 1973 240z..and I went down to purchase a new starter for it and they said there was hitachi or mitsubishi. I didnt know there was 2.Which one is the right one or does it even matter? They only had hitachi in stock.It's smaller then the one that was on there.But I thought hey..carbs etc. are hitachi. Please let me know. Thanks for the help guys!!!!!!!!!
