Places for a car guy to go in Japan?
Thanks to Babalouie, here are pictures from the 2008 Shizuoka Nostalgic Car Festival in Shizuoka, Japan! There was a man who set up shop at the rear of the show who had a TON of NOS 240z parts. He had oem nissan fender mirrors, zg flares, and ONE set of the headlight covers which I am going to attempt to pick up next weekend at his shop in Tokyo! In addition to patch panels, wiring harnesses, aftermarket zg front bumper, you name it.. http://public.fotki.com/Shizuoka-Nostalgic-Car-Festival/2008-shizuoka-nosta/ I am also attending the D1 Grand Prix tomorrow at Ebisu Circuit! I will post pics after! Thanks everyone for all of your help!

Places for a car guy to go in Japan?
Thanks very much for all the replies guys. I think I have more than enough to keep me busy. That datsun-freeway shop is near narita airport? That may be a good thing as that is where I will be flying into. I will be staying in Sagamihara which is about a 1.5-2 hour train ride southwest of Tokyo.

Places for a car guy to go in Japan?
Wow Baba thanks for that wealth of info! I really appreciate it, I am pretty much looking for classic japanese car shows, shops that specialize in 240z's and miatas (aka eunos roadster) and I would also love to catch some type of racing event possibly drifting?

Places for a car guy to go in Japan?
Thanks for the bump Carl, surely someone on here knows a little something about Japan. Is it Allen (sp?) who has the real deal 240zg seems like he would know Japan like the back of his hand?

Places for a car guy to go in Japan?
My company is sending me to our parent company in Sagimahara on March 10 and I was wondering if any of you on this forum have any suggestions as to things to do or places to go for a car guy seeing as how I will be there for 6 weeks! I'd like to go to the Toyota museum and see a 2000GT and go to a Nissan museum and see some rare cars. Also does anyone know where I might have a decent chance of finding some NOS parts for a 240Z (headlight covers, ZG flares, S20 Longblock hehe j/k, etc)? Thanks in advance to anybody that can help!

$5000 for a 1970 240z??
The interior was in pretty good condition, seats were straight, there was one crack on the passenger side dash, was all original still though. The motor seemed to be in good mechanical condition and it drove good, brakes took forever to slow the car but since this is the first 30 year old car ive driven i dont have another one to compare. The rust would be fixed properly by welding new metal. Part of the inflated price is due to the fact that it is being sold by a reputed houston z-car specialist and he repeatedly told me "we stand behind our work". The price seems a little steep to me too. Just wondering what you more knowledgable z-heads would think.

$5000 for a 1970 240z??
Went and took a look at a number 4xxx 1970 240z in houston yesterday. The car has just over 100000 miles. The things i spotted while looking at it were: un-original 5-spd tranny, rear quarter emblems shaved, unoriginal hood, 280zx side view mirrors, car looks to have been lightly tapped in the rear at some point (the driver side bumper guard slightly pushed into rear body, along with the body under the bumper having some dents/irregularities), couple minor dings here and there. Rusted through holes in the front inner fenders above the frame rails and rust on the driver side dogleg. Both of which would be repaired before purchase. The battery tray, rear deck panel and floor panels all look healthy. Is $5000 to steep a price for this car?

Help to gauge a good price for this '72 240z
thanks for the heads up wal, i stopped by there today after work. he had only a handful of 240z's in the yard and all of them were good for parts cars at most, however the owner of the yard to let me know that he had around 8 L28 turbo motors out of 82-83 280zx's that he said he would sell for $1000 for everything, including motor, tranny, wiring harness and ecu. Also came across some beautiful 16" bronze with a polished lip mesh wheels but forgot to inquire about a price....still hunting for one

Help to gauge a good price for this '72 240z
I had also heard that the 72's were among the best year of z's to purchase because the motor had a favorable head design. The 70's of course seem like they would fetch the most because they are the VERY first z's. However i don't see why a '71 would fetch so much more than a '72. That 240z in Mcallen Texas looks really nice and the price seems really good also. From the short time ive been reasearching though ive got my mind set on either a 70 or 72 240z in the original white paint with the original motor and tranny. I spoke with the seller of that white '72 last nite and im going to meet up with him in about 2 weeks when im back in texas, 99% chance im not going to buy, but i figured it wouldnt hurt to take a look at it. I'm going to wait patiently and hope a nice condition white 240z with mostly original equipment will pop up somewhere...thanks to everyone for swaying me away from buying this car, ill take your knowledge over mine because i have no experience restoring these wonderful cars

its a 1972, man the consensus seems pretty solid here, Dont Buy the Car. Anyone on this forum have experience repairing these areas on their zed? I have really no idea what the cost would be at a body shop to have these rust problems fixed.
