  1. Oh! and Steve is correct! there are a few other, less costly things that could be described as "Clutch went out". Give us some details.
  2. In a reasonable shop, with a good mechanic, I'd say 4 hours and $200.00 parts. 4 X $65.00 = $260 + $200 = $460 Tell us what they quote you. Pat, Fill in your profile so we can see what city are you in. Maybe someone can recommend a shop.
  3. Well, It is a unique car. You'll miss her when she's gone.
  4. Makes me feel quilty when I complain about my travels "All the way from East L.A." Still think we should have our meetings at the strip club. "Any new buisness?" "Yea! did ya all see the new dancer!?!"
  5. Mackin! What year is this? That's beautiful! Where's the Caddie? You had to have had a gansta lean for that hat, baby.
  6. MSA has chrome valve covers with exchange for your old one. Here's Mine: Before After
  7. I had a feeling you would like them, Lachlan!
  8. I know I'm crazy, but I've found another beautifull set of JDM wheels and I'm sorely tested! The fronts are 15 X 7 @ 0 and I know they fit, but the rears are 15 X 8 @ 0, I'm I'm not too sure... Any body running 15X8 @0 on a stock (non coilover) car? http://forums.club4ag.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=113064 Wouldn't these look F'N HOTTT??!?!
  9. In Addition, I too suggest the SU route. Side drafts are far from "Plug and Play". As others have stated Solex's/Mikuni's/Webers/Delotoros really do need dialing in with o2 sensors and, ideally dyno time. Make no mistake, the SU's are also High performance carburetors
  10. Whoa! They May be PHH's, although I do not know If solex used the same nomenclature. They ARE performance carbs. I don't know too much about Solex's (euro solexes that is) except that it hurts if you stubb your toe on them.
  11. We do have a vendor who specializes in rebuilding and restoring Mikuni/Solex Carbs Wolfcreekracing.com However, you do not have Mikuni/Solex pph 40mm, You have European Solexes, so Todd at wolfcreek may not be much help. Your carbs are from a Mercedes, fitted to a nissan L-6 manifold. Talk to Todd anyway, cause he may know just who to put you in contact with. Here's the link to your photo http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=16292&size=big&cat=500&page=1
  12. At least you bought good quality. I had a Lisle and a cheap china fork. The china steel(?) disentagrated before the joint separated, whilst the Lisle is still ready for the next job
  13. I'm glad you linked to that thread. I wished I had added these little tidbits to that one. here's the 1973 SCCA championship results (scroll down to C Production) http://www.virhistory.com/vir/73-apr/7304-res.htm By the way, the virhistory site is worth exploring. You'll get a real feel for Datsun's impact looking at the pages from 1968 onward.
  14. They make them. And at a Z car offset. Downside? They're even more expensive!
  15. Nice new ones at MSA. Even the J bolt in gleaming Zinc Dichromate. Round your order off with a new tray and there's one place in the car that's done!
  16. At 20 lbs a peice? I'll save my pennies for real TE37's 15 X 7 @ 0 Although, $1540 a set is kinda depressing, we're talking 9.17 lbs a piece of forged goodness. Price quoted from Upgrade Motoring who is one of the few vendors that list the Z car in their fittment guides.
  17. This sports car took the world on and won. And not for just a couple of years, but decades. Nissan designed this car to compete and they were more than succesfull. In both roadracing and rally competition, when the Z showed up, the competition frowned. In the U.S. the Z dominated national championships. In the home market, they raced to Nissan glory. All this sports car history is your's, every time you turn the key. That's the #1 reason I love the Nissan's of this era, the Z, the 510, the 1200, the Roadster, was built to take on the world. And that they did, in style.
  18. Instead of "Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing", it's "Ming, Mao and Mung"?
  19. You'll make the folks at 3M happy talking this way.
  20. I see our buddy Steve was there http://510garage.com/photos/albums/wpw-b8/normal_IMG_4191.JPG
  21. I commented to your photo. It's a rear carb off a 1969 1600 roadster. The bowls are reversed from the 510 models, the 411 SSS and the 68 roadster did not have the recirculation valve. the 1970 roadster had a nipple, not a banjo for the bowl vent.
  22. I know some of you are like me, and love to eye a 510 photo or two, or, in this case, 1,000. http://510garage.com/photos/
  23. 1600 roadster circa 1969, rear carb
  24. Ryan, This car was at the MSA show, and it IS as beautiful in person as it is on film. Every detail is so finished and perfectly fitted.
  25. I know a few of you guys enjoy a roadster photo or two, how about a couple hundred? Last weekend was the annual Shasta Roadster show. Riaz Abzal, Roadster nut, first class, is one of those folks (like me) who really puts in an effort to photo the cars in attendance. Below is his message to the Roadster List and the link to his photo page. Enjoy! --------------------attached----Snipped------edits---- Hey All, Just got back from the Mt. Shasta Datsun Roadster Show. All things went great and many cars did show up. Although the turnout was not the same as 2004's Mt. Shasta Show. Many similar faces and some new with a couple of unseen cars and some new SR swapped roadsters. Other than that, all else was usual. So I've uploaded the pictures taken by my older brother, Alias Abzal, and hope you enjoy them. http://community.webshots.com/user/riazabzal06
