Looks to me like a late button with an early emblem.

  5. "Stephen Cox wraps up the most successful season of his career with three wins, sixteen top fives, a rookie points championship and the 2004 GT Challenge Series title to his credit. Sopwith Motorsports' success is due to perseverance, consistency, and primarily the efforts of Shane and Scott Stephens and the Stephens Bros. Racing crew, Jeff Saulsberry, Stephen Dale Skinner, car builder Chris Mahurin, chassis specialist Chad Fox and Larry Childs. Sopwith Motorsports would like to thank all those who have supported us so faithfully throughout the season" Fantastic! Good work Stephen! On slicks? You should get a cheap set of 712's for rain days. Did that Beemer give you trouble?
  6. Ok The photo is a prototype adjustable rear suspension that goes where the rear arm attaches to the strut and brake housing Adjustable for camber and toe-in. It needs to be used with a custom set of lower control arms, hub and coil-over attachement. I don't know if I got it right. I don't want one if I win. It looks like a bunch of good machine work to me. I could not figure how the shorter pin comes into play.

I was just given a beaut of a Japanese periodical "Nostalgic Car Pro Shop Guide 2003". Not a lick of English text but so many shops for Skylines, Z cars, Roadsters, Toyota 2000GT's, Honda S cars. Loving the photos, but if I was going to Japan, It's a great guide to the shops.
  8. No kidding! Is that beauty back on the market? Not that I won the lotto, just asking.
  9. The 510's were not fitted with the 46's. Any that you might have seen are modifications. the SSS manifold was for the 38's RL411 - twin 38's set on an angle with a different float bowl mounting. Nissan made limited product, development model or racing market manifolds to install twin Hitachi SU's on just about every enigine. Last week, Les showed me the almost "one off" twin SU (English SUs) manifold for the 1961 Fairlady SP212, famous for being the first Nissan raced in the U.S. Wow 62 Whole horses (at the flywheel) in racing trim! Hang on!

And both are driven of the crank by the drive gear. Which rides free on the crank on the keyways, retained in place by the harmonic balancer/front pulley (damper, dampner, whatever). If the front pulley rides out, so will the drive gear, changing the timing. It happened to me.

get a flashlight and take a look at your dampner. Really. Was /is your car air conditioned? the reason why I ask is, sometimes the dampner bolt loosens, which allows the dampner to move forward, wich allows the distributor gear to move = Z car No Vroom. And in very much the same fashion as you described.
