  1. Derek, You're getting good advice. If you want your car back quickly and cheaply, rebuilt L28 long blocks are most likey availible at a rebuilder near you. swap your carb/dizzy/exaust manifold from your blown L26 and your on the road again. The extra 200 cc don't hurt either!

Any other CZCC members coming to this show, this Saturday? I forgot that I had registered! No way I can get the Z ready from daily driver mode to show mode so quickly, so, I roadstering again. -----------attached--------------- Dear Victor Laury, You are receiving this email to confirm you are registered for the 3rd Annual Mossy Performance Car Show taking place this Saturday, November 13th. Thank you for setting aside the time to be there and participating in what has always been a very fun and positive event. If you are unable to make it, please email me back ASAP and I will remove you from the list. Please print out this first page and bring it with you, it will speed up the registration process. This year the car show will be held off the dealership lot, in the Albertson's shopping center parking lot about a block away. The map can be found here: www.MossyPerformance.com/map.jpg. The show will begin at 10am, so please plan on being there at 9 am to setup and be placed. We will do our best to accommodate parking with your club. If you all get there together it will be much easier. Because of the overwhelming response, we will most likely have to park some cars in a lot nearby. This will have no affect on the judging of your vehicle, rather it will spread us out some. We will be raffling off a lot of prizes again, and all proceeds will be going to the El Camino High School Cheerleading Squad. We were there biggest sponsor last year and hope to continue that again this year. The girls will also be selling hamburgers, hotdogs, candy and drinks. Please help support them. We will begin judging around 11 am and hope to be finished by 2:30pm for the awards ceremony. We will hand out the trophies, take some pictures and head out to enjoy the rest of the day. Please pick up any trash in your area and take everything you brought home with you. I don't need any more chairs or coolers, trust me! ;-). The list of trophies, based on current registration is this: Best in Show Best Truck/SUV Best In Car Entertainment Best G35 Best Maxima Best Altima Best Sentra - Early (B13, B14) Best Sentra - Late (B15) Best Datsun - Other Best 350Z Best Z - Early (240,260,280) Best Z - Later (280ZX,300ZX) Best G20 Best 510 Best Roadster Best 240SX Best 200SX There is a $500 and a Lo-Jack prize for Best in Show, and a $200 prize for Best Truck this year. If there are any questions or comments, please email me back and I'll reply as quickly as possible. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there. Greg V

Good to see you made it Robert! Robert is a known trooper to the roadster crowd.

  6. Redline MTL. Yes you have brass syncros. Your 1980 transmission (B box) differs from the A box 5 speed used in non-US market Z cars and all SRL roadsters. The A box used steel "Porsche style" servos (syncros) for all gears up to 1970. After Nissan fitted 1~2, 2~3 with brass "Warner Style" syncros

  10. Something still needs work. I have Nismo greens on the rear, Axxis Metal Masters up front - stops "NOW", even cold.
  11. Really looking forward to seeing you all. Let's make a point to get together. How about a ClassicZCar.com group photo? or an "Apres-Show" dinner. There's lots of eateries in the area. We could take over the Acapulco restruant on Katella. Maybe even a Tequilla or two in moderation, of course.

I've been to 125 according to the speedo. There's some left, but not much. I'd say at 130 you'd start to run into the aerodynamic wall. This was with a front air dam. I hear-tell these Z's get a little loose up front over 120 without one.

Since everyone seemed to enjoy my photos of last week's show, there's more on the web. Katy was there with her camera. Not surprising, as she's at most SoCal Car shows. www.katysnest.com/datsun-BBQ-Oct24 And the Dimequarterly has updated their site with a show report www.dimequarterly/2004DohenyBBQ

  16. I was looking at the Works when I was shopping. I was a bit diconscerned that they did not have a specs page that listed the size/width/offset (s) availible. BTW, that roadster photo Must be photoshopped. The only way to get that much lip under a roadster would be to shorten the axles/tub the body or flair the fenders like crazy.

Nancy, being from the wrench-and-ball-pean school of mechanics, the only way I know to test them is have another one to swap out! Speaking of that, the pick-a-part down in Carson has quite a few nissans with the same module. Take a shorty phillups screwdriver and your ready to harvest a "Test" module.
  18. I didn't know a lotus 7 could bend in the middle. That was far out. Couldn't see the mini one, dam company network firewall.
  19. Looks sweet!
