Exactly. Your adding a separate circuit, for the main power to the headlights. No more big power through the dash harness and stalk switch. The existing circuitry will now only operate the relays, which is a very light load in comparison.

There is a K&N filter element for the stock air cleaner. Available at MSA, part #11-5001 $56.06. You get the benefit of the reusable filter with the stock air horns. Win-Win?

That Turquoise engine color is much darker than the air box color. I bought a can of the Duplicolor DE1610 and partailly painted my 1970 L521 air cleaner. Here's a Photo! color comparision It's close. The stock is a little grayer? greener? What do you think? Will it do?

DE 1610 Pontiac Blue, looks green in the chip chart but as I recall, it's quite close.

Hey, Tom! Yes! Balcome Canyon road was very fun. Not another car was seen, and I took those tight twists at balls out. The only dissapointing thing was the road was too short. The kits go on exactly as the originals did. It's not a complex job. when you take the seat-backs off, you'll see the metal points that pierce the vinyl material and fix it into place. As you peel the old covers off, you'll see the places the originals were "drawn in" with hog rings (hog ring pliers and rings are at your local hardware store for about $12 max). It's about a 3 hour job to recover the seats. I did it 1 evening in my living room. Silicon spray? Hey! that's a good idea! I tried to use baby powder as an installation lube. DON'T DO THIS! I had baby powder coming out the vent holes for months! I was talking Z's with 240ZX the other day and he heard that it helps to leave the covers laying in the sun, to warm them up and help the install process.

I bought the 6 into 1 MSA header with the "jet-hot" ceramic coating. I had the 2.5'' system built by a exhaust shop well known with the Hot Rot crowd. Drove to the shop with an open header, drove back happy! I think it sounds pretty dam good. What did you think of my exhaust note TTDriver?

For an even more sanitary look, keep an eye out for a pre-71 510 thremo housing. It doesn't have the extra hole machined into it. Not only will your manifold heat be removed, It will look like it was never there. It's actualy not a manifold "heat" feature. It's more of a temperture stabilizer. But, no worries. She'll run just fine and you'll have less hoses to deal with. Plus-Plus in my book.
