Could I barrow 1.5mil
Careful with that axe Eugene.. The environmental liability could be included in the price as well. you could buy, for the mere price of 1.5 mil, a 20 mil enviro remediation liability. Oh joy! 1st step in this kind of deal is to demand a phase I and II site assesment. If the seller wont comply, you run, not walk, away.

A sign of things to come for vintage Datsuns?
510 are getting very hard to buy. Project cars are now selling for over $2.5K. recently a finished SR20 swapped beauty sold for $30K. Roadsters are also on the move up. The market on NLA old stock Nissan parts are drying up. Soon restoration parts will be reconditioned or remanufactured for only the most valuble models. I don't like it. I don't want my cars to be too valuble for me to enjoy as intended. I'm not running a museum. I have a stable of thoughbreds that need to be run hard. So what can I run when I can no longer afford to break a Datsun? Toyota Soarer (Lex SC300), Z32, S14 instead of an S30? Toyota AE86 instead of a 510? Miata instead of an SR311? Can't modify any of them without taking them off the road for ever. None of those choices have any soul for my tastes

1980 RHD JDM Nissan Skyline 2000GT ES Turbo!
Maybe in Carolina, But in Kalifornia, that 1983 skyline is not going to get tagged. Although, it would be alright for it's FJ20DET to find it's way into my 510

street flares vs works/semi-wors flare widths?
Eric, I'm just eyeballing that size. 15X9 @-19 is an availible R type size/offset. Just judging by the appearence. No guarenties of accuracy stated or implied. I'm wondering if he sold the car or not. Kinda kicking myself I didn't buy it. A little spa treatment and it could be a beauty! Bill, ya really don't like them? They are VERY "Correct" to me.

The Internet Z Car Club (IZCC)
Why not Merge? Why have two? Classic Z car is not a club. IZCC could adopt the forum as IZCC forum central. Keep the info site and mailing list intact. The ONLY issue I can see is IZCC is all models and ClassicZcars.com is an S30 forum.

240z Drifting
Drifting blows chunks. All the real drifters will tell you it the very worst thing (abuse-wise) you could possibly do to a car, except, perhaps, launching it off a bridge. Go to a Corrola GTS meet. All the drift cars have front end damage and have been through several engines. Watch a drift - 3 seconds of drift - 20 seconds of recovery.

What's a 300Z Fairlady-can I have a RH drive car here?
Lachlan, If you know an exporter, I'll get a loan. Can't believe I just said that. But, I'd really would rather you kept your car. And in five years or so was documenting your fittment of an S20 engine and R192 444-1 rear

Wheels for 72 Z
I you end up using Nissan factory 81-83 ZX Wheels, You must use the special Nissan lug nuts. Very few aftermarket sources are availible for this special lug nut. Other aftermarket wheels use more common lug nuts

street flares vs works/semi-wors flare widths?
Nauto's car. I meet him at the EXC/Club4ag car show, a week before the Little tokyo Showoff show. Yea Super big flairs covering Super deep R Type Wats. He wanted $9,000 for the car. Pretty good price figuring the 3 grand Wats, the $300 fender mirrors, the priceless headlight covers, the Works stlye flares. The Grand nose was the 2 piece FRP knock-off. The engine was stock and badly needing detail. The paint was a 6 out of 10 and then there was the bent hood. The interior was clean. Photos creditited to JTuned online magazine.

What's a 300Z Fairlady-can I have a RH drive car here?
Yea, "Federalization" is a big expensive legal hassle, that will go nowhere if the DOT says NO ahead of time. All the R30, R31 R32 Skylines, All the late model Toyo Crowns I see, are not registered and Not legally drivable on US roads. Last weekend I saw a cute little Nissan PAO (a retro lookback to the Cit 2CV, Fiats ect.) I asked the owner if he got it cleared. "No way!", he replied. "It's not legal and there was no way I could have got it through". "Fortunatly, It's not a Skyline, so it's not a target for the cops". Meanwhile, If you imported Alfadog's C110, no one would bat an eyelash at the DMV and you could plate it with no hassle. I'd rather hae the C110, C10, SR311, P510 SSS Coupe, PS30, S30, HS30 than any R32 skyline anyhow.

FS: 1973 Nissan Skyline GT-R Replica (Datsun 240K)
Mr. McCombe, have you lost your mind? Over the past couple years, we've all watched in absolute rapt attention, the meticulous steps you've taken to build this car. Your quest to build this car can not only be described as a labor of love, but of lust and passion as well. Selling this car must be equal to selling a limb at this point, at least it would to me. Now that that is off my chest..... OH GOD do I want this car!!!

And Y'ALL thought Tail lights were EXPENSIVE!
Just think... in 66, if ya filled your DatMan coin bank with quarters, that would just about cover the cost of a brand new PL410!

"Ha 240zx it was worth a try even if I only got a dollar" Did Tom give ya a hard time? Dude - I need the same push. I took my z apart more than 6 months ago, and there she sits... Apart.... Now the 510 has taken all my attention. Gotta get back to the Z. I really miss driving her.
