Absolutely! We have enjoyed a relative free form forum, that has successfully fulfilled it's objective as an information source as well as maintained a general comfortable, relaxed and friendly environment. True, there has been "those times", but no more than can be expected. In my experience, what we enjoy here is rare and worthwhile. I personally find little to take offense to, and see no calling for more control. When you consider how much more an effective communication channel this has been, over the previous method of internet mailing lists, you'll conclude that the internet bb has/is revolutionized forum communication. On the web today, you will find few that have developed and implemented this method better than this site. We can thank Mike for that, but it has been the some total of the population that uses it (YOU) that has really shaped this forum.

Thank you Mike! Even more fantastic photos. Gee, you shot every C10 Skyline you saw! Your detail shot of the S20 engine will be a reference photo.

I bought a universal unit from one parts store or another. It had a mouning bracket molded into the housing. I ground it off and slipped it into the original rubber mounting.

I've never owned one, but I've seen the "Faded Mustard" and have also seen Safari Gold in it's full glory. What a wonderfull complex color it really is. buffed out and waxed, it's deep enough to fall into.

Anybody else!?! It's this coming Sunday! See you there! -
If you've done the EI conversion, you need a low ohm, 12volt coil like the ZX (fat) coil to use without the ballast resistor. However there are cheaper alternative - you buy a coil for a 1980 310 (210), it also used the EI dizzy, the coil meets the same specs, it's the same diameter as the stock coil and is much cheaper.

It will take quite a bit of time and patience to unravel the PO's modifications. You must get a FSM for a 73, or at least a good wiring diagram. Then determine why the PO did these repairs/mods. Was he adding something or repairing something. Usally I see a PO will add a radio, or some other component and patch into cicuits pretty indiscriminally, leaving a mess. Even our local L.A. auto electrical shops wont bother tracing a wiring fault, opting to take a quick fix and string another circuit, outside of the harness. I'm not a very good electrican, so my repairs only come after long study of the circuit and the use of lots of reference materials. I will often go to shows, to check other cars to see if I used the right wire to the right spot

So far, Konig only offers Rewinds in 14 X 7 @ -9, a 15 X 7 @ 0, and a 15 X 7 @ +40 for FWD cars. Not at the Konig web site, http://www.konigwheels.com/ , or at any vendor sites is a 16 X 7, refered to or offered. As far as inexpensive, wide, deep wheels go, nothing comes close to the Sportmax's. I like the looks and I think it's GREAT that the market has offered SOMETHING in our fittment (Thank the Toyota AE86 market for this), but I'm not much of a fan of the single piece cast alloy wheels. Yea you paid $400 bucks for them, and the look good, but I'd give ya more cred (if that counts for anything) if you rolled up with NLA, used 15 X 8 @ 0 SSR reverse meshes you paid three times more for.

Most Chrome shops will do buisness via UPS shippment. That makes most of them as close to you as the UPS truck can get to your door.

70 SRL 2 liter in bone stock 555 white. All whites and All 505 thunder blacks came with red interiors. In the home market, the silvers were also fitted in red, but in the US, they had black interiors. Roadster people often go on about the rarity of the 67.5 SRL's since there was only 1,000 US markets made. The production numbers indicate that less than 1,000 1970 SRL's were produced before Z car production stopped them cold. In november 69, the roadster line stopped, while the Z car rampped up. It started again, but much slower around March of 70 but only made a few more before halting, forever.

Bu Zamil, It's very exciting for an American to see these cars in Left hand Drive! Most that we see are Right hand, from Japan and Australia. I've seen photos of a few from Finland, but they rust so badly there. Please upload photos of the cars you see in your area. Do you have a Datsun/Nissan car club in SA?

Thanks Will, It is a blast, and a challenge. If something can be an issue mechanically, It will arise during this run. I "Nut and Bolt" inspect for this run and never 100% sure I'm not going to flat bed her home. This can be a Motoring Tour, if you prefer, but there is a core group of real "hard core" Canyon carving degenerates (I wont name names) who treat this three day event as more of an extended open road enduro. I had my moments, But at times, I was too exhausted to even try and rejoined the motoring tour crowd. It's best to do this with a navigator. Especially if you intend to lead a fast group. Otherwise, you should follow the lead of someone who DOES know where they are going! There are a bunch of Z cars that go each year. The Z's populate both the Motoring tour bunch and the canyon crazy bunch. I took my roadster last year and will be taking my new 510 this one. If your a faster kittyKat, the roads WILL be challenging, amazing, hard, dangerous, the shoulders, non existent, the drop-off, shear and deadly. You are guaranteed to push through water hazards, dirt sections and narrow single track unimproved with woop-t-doos to try to throw you through the roof (buckle down baby). You are guaranteed rock chips, airdam damage and of course, bug laden windshields. Motor touring will allow you to see fantastic central coast California in full spring bloom. Roads that you never knew existed before and will never forget the vistas of natural splendor that will be seen from the overlooks. The planned stops will be interesting and a few will be worth the trip itself. But of course, the trip is the main event. Oh, and of course, there's the cars, I take it, you all do like classic cars, right? Do you like them in the show, our do you like them in your rear-view mirror? Do you like to know why you can't catch that silly, boxy, Alfa Guilia? Gee, I know his engine is much smaller than mine, I guess that means he's just a great F'n driver! That night, over margaritas at the "Bar Car" you ask "where did you learn to drive like that?". "Oh! that wasn't me" that alfa owner replies, "That was my Wife" "She's the fast one between us.", "When she drives, I just hang on and shut up". Washing the dirt off you car during this event is considered BAD FORM. Any washing should be done by proceeding through the water hazards, way too fast.

Got the first "Heads up" from the main "Disorganizer" of the NFIBMT, Ed Pasini. If you plan, It's time to start planning...... ------------------ Forwarded Message Follows ------------------ This year we will be going back to basics. That means NO ALL HANDS MEAL. Finding a restaurant, guaranteeing a minimum number of attendees, fronting the deposit, choosing the menu, collecting the money, and listening to the inevitable complaints flies in the face of our motto NON CRANIUS INVERTUS RECTUMUS. We will be in Paso Robles for the nights of April 12 and 13. Start you research now, find a restaurant, get your group together, make your dinner reservations and have your own party. That's what the NFIBMT has always been all about. Do your own thing. 9th Annual No Frills Iron Bottom Motoring Tour THIS IS THE VINTAGE TOUR WHERE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO DRIVE YOUR OWN CAR ON PUBLIC ROADS FOR FREE. DRIVERS WHO COMPLETE THE TOUR ARE PAID Because of the mutual disrespect of the event co-founders the NFIBMT is now affiliated with the California Mille. If you have entered your car in the California Mille you can do the No Frills for no additional fee. Two classy vintage tours for the price of one. Who can participate? Anyone with a pre 1976 motor vehicle When & Where? Meet at 7:00am on Thursday April 12, 2007 at Arroyo Blvd. and Seco St. near the South end of the Rose Bowl in Pasadena What does it cost? THERE ARE NO FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENTS OUR MOTTO: NON CRANIUS INVERTUS RECTUMUS 9th Annual No Frills Iron Bottom Motoring Tour NON CRANIUS-INVERTUS-RECTUMUS Why This is a No Frills Event and What you need to Know One of the disorganizers has driven the entire route, but he has an unreliable metric odometer, so all mileage is estimated. Use a map and your best judgement. The California map provided by the Automobile Club of Southern California, includes most of the roads on this tour (some roads are not well marked). Even the guy who lays out the route gets lost. If you have a GPS BRING IT Start with a full fuel tank. Gas is available at several locations but there are some long stretches without gas. Keep your tank topped off. You will need your drivers license, car registration and proof of current insurance to gain access to Ft. Hunter Liggett Carry a cell phone. Tom, I read your post twice, maybe I didn't read it right? Positive Offset - Think of the honda next to you at the light. His wheels are +40 offset. And then there is Negative offset, as perfectly demonstrated by the REAL "TYPE R's" in this case 14X9 @-19 RS Watanabe Type R

Want o change interior colour - what should I do?
Victor Laury replied to Darkstar's topic in Interior
I too am a happy SEM user. Yes it does cost more than most vinyl paint/dyes. But it's on there to stay and looks like the part was manuafactured that color after painting. I use their Phantom White for Datsun truck headliners and sunvisors. As an unconfirmed side note, if you order a set of red or butterscotch plastic trim from CDM, they spray it that color with SEM brand dye. -

Lachlan, Thank you for the wonderfull, detailed PHOTOS! You've outdone yourself McCombe Oh that blue Isuzu Bellet is to die for.. The C110 with the VG30DET - Yeehaa! Alan Bent's 320 flatbed pickup looks better in your photos than the old one he had on his site. Was the Sore Blue 1500 roadster the one he built for his new Girl Friend? most of the conventional engined Mazdas I have never seen before and the little one with the rear engine (bigger than the 360) is also a new sight for me -
PM'ing you with the details

Can someone in Riverside look at a car for me. I hate to drive out, just to find out it's a clunker. Of course, in the description, it sounds like a cream-puff, but I've seen how reality can quite different. The owner claims to have no digital camera. PS - It's a 510
