Thanks Enrique, I checked with Les a couple of months ago to no avail. Les has a lot of stickers but his stuff is more geared to the 70 ~ 71 stuff.
  3. Let's see if this works
  4. Did you get it to work? It works for me

I know this might label me as anal retentive beyond cure, but, has anyone duplicated the flasher sticker (cross shaped sticker on the dash, just below the flasher switch)? I carefully peeled one off of my last car, but wasn't as carefull about where I put it!

It's OK! Take a deep breath. If you missed out in buying that one for 14K, you can still get this one for 15K. http://classicdatsun.com/fs/mannz.html Hey! if this is really going to be the prices for Z cars, Then I really F'd up scraping my brown one. I could have stuck some old parts on her and got 5~6K out of her!

I got a set from CDM, just before the MSA show. But, Les offered me a "Special" set with "240Z" embroidered on the head rest. how could I refuse? Fitted them on in my living room. they look great.
  8. funny you should ask. A link posted in "Bumpsteer Spacers" led to this, http://240z.jeromio.com/hvac.html
  9. Lowell, Does this mean you still have your air pump connected? I think the vanes last only 2 years.

I tried to find my paperwork for my Tokikio HP's to no avail, But I do remember the tid-bit about adding a small amount of light oil under the the word "Important"
  12. Victor Laury posted a post in a topic in Suspension & Steering
The oil is needed. It creates a thermal connection between the strut-tube and the strut cartridge. Without the oil, the strut cooks in it's own heat. I have a quart of 10 weight I use for SU dampeners and stuff like this.
  13. Right, It's the roadster trans with all the mods already made.
  14. That air cleaner is so very, very Nissan-ish. I can't think of another Nissan inline 6 except the P motor from the Patrol. But, that was fitted with a single carb and a Huge round upright can air filter and was mounted on the passenger side of the engine.
  15. To get this box (FS5C71A) to fit you need; (Prices Quoted from http://www.courtesyparts.com/) Clutch Housing* Code: 30401-22010 Price: $362.91 Tail Housing (1 required) Code: 32130-A7100 Price: $150.00 Main Shaft Code: 32241-A0200 Price: $100.00 Diveshaft (to 8/71) Code: 37000-E4100 Price: $170.00 Striking Rod Assembly* Code: 32890-A0100 Price: $30.58 So for $700 you install a 5 speed that you can no longer get parts for! too bad as they are good boxes. You could keep an eye out for an Fairlady in the states getting parted out. I love the one in my 70 roadster.
  16. Is your glove box in good shape? I had no trouble swaping my clock through the box, but mine is torn beyond hope already. Releasing the hvac cables is kinida tough as it's upside-down-on-your-back-in-the footwells work. It gets more complicated if you have a AC installed. But, still doable either way
  17. You may need a new gauge. wont know untill you remove it. This is the middle fuel/Alt gauge? best bet is to remove the consle, remove the heater panel and release the gauge. There sould be enough slack in the alt connections to see if you can re-set the plastic bezel. What state/city are you in? We might be able to recommend a shop or offer assistance.

The Z fits right in with my Betty Page Kink
  20. Eric, Lachlan is dreaming about your car again! I'm driving my dream Z. But I do fancy restoring one complety and correctly from the bare shell to the last, plated bolt. Untill then I live my Z and Roadster Dream. My ideal 510 is still out there, I can feel it.
  21. This Victor agrees with the other Victor. There's got to be a point where you stop planning on the job and just do the job. I'm getting ready for a clutch replacement. I've gathered up all the pieces and some "While I'm at it" pieces. I was planning on have on of my extra 4 speeds rebuilt and swap it out, "While I was at it". But, Dam, I just gotta do the job, and get it over with!

Cuong! We anit back-woods dummies! We're Nissan fans! I got to ride in one, once. how lucky is that! Seriously, that's a beauty. even without seen the photos, I'm envious. With the Rice-Boy culture out here, the Sklyline, especially that model, is of legendary status. Deservedly so, in this case. Lucky you! Obviously a Nguyen-Win situation!

Allen, It's going to be worth it to chase down your suspension woes. It may look daunting now, since you just got the car and facing a list of issues. But, if you care for those issues, the list will get smaller. There's got to be a Z club in the Dallas/FW area that can suggest a reputable Z shop. Your ride will never be right if - Your tires are worn unevenly, Incorrect tire pressures, wheel bearings aren't set properly, struts in poor shape The answer for me was to replace the entire front end. It was that hard or expensive.
