  5. I vote without.... That is, if Ryan promisses not to bump anything! My favorite bumperless 280 was Steve's (Zvoiture), Remember this one? It's got a "Shark like" quality or a late 50's fighter jet look, to me. Somewhat Aston Martin - ish? Whatever, It looked way aggro, especially when it was climing up your tail pipe!

    We could write a small book on Nissan models and model evolution. It helps to start by making a family tree. Here are the main branches Trucks Patrol Bluebirds Sunnys <STARTING p in 67<>Fairladies Silvias Skylines <AFTER p merger Prince only<> Cherrys <STARTING p in 73?<>Cedrics 2000 Sedans <LATER p as known Laurels?<>Presidents Now you can fill them out. Now these model numbers were NOT used for every market And there are quite a few variations within each model species Trucks 221 1959 222 1961 320 1962 520 1967 521 1968 620 1973 720 1979 Bluebirds 210 1959 310 1961 312 1963 410 1965 411 1966 510 1968 610 1972 180B 710 1974 180B? 810 1977 200B? 910 1981 Sunnys C10 1967 110 1968 1200 1970 B210 120Y (don't forget the "Z" big engine varients! 1972 Sunny Pickup 1976 B310 140Y? 1978 Fairladies SP212 all "L"s 1960 SP213 all "L"s 1961 SP(L)310 1962 SP(L)311 1965 SR(L)311 1967 S30 1969 R30 1974 S130 1978 Silvias CSP311 1967 And then a long break! Why? It's just two dam funny watching this guy stomp all over common sense, basic mechanics and physics. What's next? Electric leaf blower boost?
  12. All the ZX wheels are 14 X 6 + 12, except for the turbos which are 15 X 6 +12. I think they look a little "too tucked in" for my tastes.

Ill? Suicidal? Whilst I may be guilty of both, at least here I'm in good company. This is a site for the love of a sports car, not a mini van. Yes, I often travel at 100+ in my Z. Albeit an antisocial act, it is indicative of true sports car enthusiasm. You may not get much argument in you assumption from my fellows who have had followed me up and down a mountian road. What you may refer to illness, is real joi d'vive to me.

  16. oops! moved to the correct forum! guess i was sleeping. Although, it would be nice if our 240K brothers could come to the show! I guess that whole "crossing the pacific ocean" thing complicates that a bit.

Don't forget the fender mirrors! Saw a set last week for $150.00. Should I have bought them? Oh and good JDM wheels are bought and sold daily on the club4ag.com site.

Yea, I know - and added unsprung weight - I was thinking of looks alone. By the Way, I let the deal on those wheels go by. Keep myself under the frivolus spending reins. Plus that, My SSR MkII are just over a year old. How much of a wheel wh0re do I need to be?
  19. That's a good way to look at it. I'd like to keep our vendors in buisness. I can only get 2 years out of a set of seat covers.

Joining ZONC is good advice, no matter if you find a good shop or not.
  23. Why are you attempting to adjust the timming under 10 degrees BTDC? Is that a spec you read in a book. Are you sure what the initial advance is on your dizzy? There are several different advance cams that may be installed in your dizzy. You need to confirm, either by direct observation or by total advance adjustment. If you carefully unscrew and lift the breaker plate and look at the advance cam below, You'll see a number stamped on the flat area before the slots. Typically a 9.5 or and 11 sometimes a 7.5 and as high as 15. This number indicates the total dizzy advance. To get total advance, you mulitply that number by for example 9.5 X 2 is 19. Now, on pump gas, and 8.5 CR and stock cam, You do not want to exeed 35 degrees total advance. So, 35 -19 = 16 So the optimal timing for this dizzy is 14 ~ 16 BTDC. If it was an 11 dizzy, optimal would be lower, 11 ~ 13. In reverse, if it was a 7.5 unit, 7.5 X 2 = 15, 35 -15 = 20 so 18~20 would be the range. If you car sound "Super Retarded" at 10, It just very well might be.
