  1. Sounds right! and that's a good price. when I was planning this, it apeared that a $60.00 to $75.00 price was as low as I could get it out for. You must have found a good low price for the relays. good on ya!
  2. There is a K&N filter element for the stock air cleaner. Available at MSA, part #11-5001 $56.06. You get the benefit of the reusable filter with the stock air horns. Win-Win?
  3. Yes, Mine now sports a rubber furniture leg-end cup from the hardware store.
  4. That Turquoise engine color is much darker than the air box color. I bought a can of the Duplicolor DE1610 and partailly painted my 1970 L521 air cleaner. Here's a Photo! color comparision It's close. The stock is a little grayer? greener? What do you think? Will it do?
  5. color comparison of Duplicolor (brand) Engine paint, # DE1610 and Nissan "Air Cleaner blue" the example is a 1970 L521 pickup air cleaner
  6. even more info. Take a look at the color for the "1971 - March 15, 1973 Pontiac V8" on this page ponitac engine colors
  7. DE 1610 Pontiac Blue, looks green in the chip chart but as I recall, it's quite close.
  8. You're a brave man, Bob. I'm far too cowardly to add up my receipts!
  9. Both my early 72 and my late 72 used these carpet clips. I only have 1 clip that has survived the years.
  10. One of my favorites. In 1980 a former team car was campained through the south on a shoestring budget. It was fun to watch it kick arse of big money cars at PBIR and Road Atlanta. One of the reasons I love Datsuns was watching the B210 tear it up.
  11. I miss my root-beer/butterscotch car! It was a pretty little rust bucket!
  12. Hey, Tom! Yes! Balcome Canyon road was very fun. Not another car was seen, and I took those tight twists at balls out. The only dissapointing thing was the road was too short. If I hadn't of needed to get home to do "life chores", I'd have turned round to take it again! Hope you do put together a ride. It's close enough to me to make it easily. A lunch destination works good.
  13. Marty, Do you really think so? I felt a "seat of the pants" gain when I added the headers and exhaust system to my otherwise stock L-24. Of course "seat of the pants" Dynos are hard to calibrate.
  14. Don't know the Nissan part #. MSA sells them at $140.00 a set, 24-5520 for 70~76 and 24-5521 for 77~78
  15. Nismo "Green stuff" shoes on both my roadster and Z. There maybe a better "Pure race" compound, but these have been fine for street and my AutoX outings.
  16. I don't think he should! The sight of this car coming up on you at 90+ leaves a lasting impression. Visions of being chased by a ravinous beast or a large shark is not too far from the expirence.
  17. Ten day of unbearable Zpression when my baby was stolen. Still thanking all applicable deities for her return!
  18. The kits go on exactly as the originals did. It's not a complex job. when you take the seat-backs off, you'll see the metal points that pierce the vinyl material and fix it into place. As you peel the old covers off, you'll see the places the originals were "drawn in" with hog rings (hog ring pliers and rings are at your local hardware store for about $12 max). It's about a 3 hour job to recover the seats. I did it 1 evening in my living room. Silicon spray? Hey! that's a good idea! I tried to use baby powder as an installation lube. DON'T DO THIS! I had baby powder coming out the vent holes for months! I was talking Z's with 240ZX the other day and he heard that it helps to leave the covers laying in the sun, to warm them up and help the install process.
  19. I bought the 6 into 1 MSA header with the "jet-hot" ceramic coating. I had the 2.5'' system built by a exhaust shop well known with the Hot Rot crowd. Drove to the shop with an open header, drove back happy! I think it sounds pretty dam good. What did you think of my exhaust note TTDriver?
  20. For an even more sanitary look, keep an eye out for a pre-71 510 thremo housing. It doesn't have the extra hole machined into it. Not only will your manifold heat be removed, It will look like it was never there. It's actualy not a manifold "heat" feature. It's more of a temperture stabilizer. But, no worries. She'll run just fine and you'll have less hoses to deal with. Plus-Plus in my book.
  21. Dam! I'm sure it's just the lighting, but the silver makes the car look like it was formed in polished Aluminum.
  22. Alan, here's my question on the L engine development. I've heard many say that the "L" motor development is directly attributable to the Prince engineers coming on-board. But, how could Nissan debut the "L" motors so soon after the merger if this was so?
  23. Mine is long gone and don't miss it. Also in SoCal
