  1. And I wont bother to mention what I was quoted on my last inquiry. But, a hint, The ebay $70.00 was a deal. Expensive carboard indeed! Like Carl, I too haven't the previous motivation, But I do have cash for someone who becomes motivated to mass produce.
  2. Just an update on the Volk TE37's I found a local shop that specializes in the import of Volk wheels Cartunerz Gee, I've walked passed this place dozens of times, and only thought that there would be nothing in this "Rice shop" for me. The Z fitment is only in 15 X 7 ($308) and 14 X 7 ($284). I called and Dennis told me he will have no problem getting them, But, It's a minimum of 5 weeks shipment from Japan.

Let the others poo-poo the ZX. To heck with them. I know a beauty when I see one. Nice ride Z Driver!
  4. Joseph! we were simultaneous
  5. It eases assembly and disassmbly. With the bolts out, you set the exhaust manifold on the studs, set up the bridge washers, start the nuts, then you slide the intake manifold down under the bridge washers and install the bolts. This saves serveral minutes of dropped nuts trying to install them on the bridge washers while reach under and around the intake manifold. It's a common modification we do on the roadsters, but stock on the 240. BTW all the 240's I've worked on had the same "TR" "7" bolts.
  6. Who went to the show? What was it like? how many Z's came? Lots's of birds? Any cool cars, beautiful women? was there enough photos taken? Do I need to make a gallery in 04 events? questions questions
  7. Well, since I'm the first to vote, I think that L24 set up sound good. You'd spend more than 1.5k reproducing it.
  8. True. But, suprisingly, it would be more expensive to restore. All those gadgets cost money, and will no doubt require replacements. auto door locks and elec. window operators add up quick. And, since the earlier cars are considered more "collectable", reproduction parts have been made availible. Example - you find plastic interior panels for the S30, now find them for an S130. Seat kits? Carpet Kits? In the roadster world we have 67.5itis. What's that? Since the 67.5 roadster is the collectors dream, no one bothers to make reproduction parts for my lowly 1970 model.
  9. Nate, Please, please keep us informed where you find to order them from, how much they end up costing, How long for delivery, How well the fit.. You know ... the complete 411. I like "the Vintage look" but willing to sacrifice that for really trick, light wheels. I think, the Gram lights qualify for totally trick and super light.
  10. Can't see the link, cause Ebay is blocked here at work. But I do want to let you guys in on something. Be on the look out for original nissan mainfolds for the roadster u-20 engine with the Mikuni Solex Carbs. Since they only made 14,000 2 liter roadsters, and only a small portion of those were fitted with Mikuni's, The manifolds are now rarer than hen's teeth. And worth major dollars. yep, the manifold is worth more than the carbs. After all, they made a lot more 44 PHH Mikunis for all sorts of cars. Even things associated with the mikuni set-up, such as the factory air cleaner housing. One of these is currenly selling for $600. Pretty pricy piece of stamped aluminum! So, If your at a yard sale, and see a box of car parts, and the fella says "that stuff came off my old daatsaan roadster" " five bucks for the lot", pay the man and smile.
  11. the link bombed Here's what it said: Finish: Silver Painted Size Selected: 15x7 Price: $129 each Estimated Availability: In Stock Recommended Tire Size: 195/50-15 Wheel Offset: +17mm ** Lightweight: 14.0 lbs. ** Additional Specs Bolt Pattern: 4-114 Finish Warranty: 1 Year Country of Origin: Japan Construction Type: G. Cast/Shot Peened and a photo of the wheel for a different fitment
  12. The good They're light They're inexpensive They're readily availible The bad They're cast - not forged the open look says "How about my rear drums" would the +17mm offset be too much for a 15X7? Such a small amount wouldn't seem to matter. Kosei K-1 Racing Found these by searching tirerack.com for 1985 toyota gts
  13. Rick, I'm ALMOST certain that the 70~71 shift hole mod would be the same for both transmissions. #1 priority - Which trans do you have the most confidence in as far as condition?
  14. Will these fit? 15'' 7.0JJ 0 offset 4X114.3 price 40,950 yen (apeice?)
  15. even the panas are too cheap. I'd like those crazy light "Ray's Engineering" Volk TE37's I believe the 16'' wheels are about 13 lbs and the 14's are only 8! Phenomonal!
  16. With a good coating of neverseaze grease. galvanic action between the steel plug and the aluminum case is one of the reasons you can't get it out now. the other was the over zealous wrencher on the last serviceing
  17. More tounge-in-cheek than real. It would be a real hassle registering a non-california late model car than it's worth. I've look at my share of S12~14 out here and they are usally too beat up to bother with. Yours, on the other hand, looks like a cream puff. And it's a stick! so many auto's were sold, most you see for sale are automatics.
  18. Dam! I'd buy it if it was 2,600 miles closer
  19. Dude, Remove the reverse switch and fill from there. Save the plug for the next time you drop the tranny or the next time your car is on a rack.
  20. I just did this yesterday. I have a "workmate" style table, that I open enough to pass the hub, to rest the rotor surface against the table top. After removing the four 10mm (14mm wrench) bolts, I cover the rear of the hub with a block of 2X4 and smack it with a 1lb hammer. I keep my other hand under the table to keep the hub from falling. Doing the rears now. Just found a very contaiminated right rear. Luckily, I have another slave cylinder. Not going to install my new Nismo "Green Stuff" shoes, just to have the ruined by a leaky cylinder!
  21. Don't think he got a shot of my roadster. No worries, I got plenty already! :classic: SRL311 10500 would be a 1969, about the middle of the production year. Nissan made more 1969 SRL Roadsters than any other year. So, your chances are good in seeing one.SRL311 10593 White with black interior? Must be a repaint, as white roadsters, as well as the black ones, only came with red interiors. My 1970 roadster is pale yellow (Nissan Code 665). Very few 70 roadsters were made, as the 240Z production scramble dominated the assembly line. SRL311 13136
