Tokico Springs and Shocks
Hello all, I have a quick question regarding Tokico springs and shocks. I have an 1982 280ZX 2+2 and wanted to get Tokico springs and shocks for it. I found a kit on ebay for all four corners (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOKICO-HP-SHOCKS-NISSAN-280ZX-79-83-BEST-PRICE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33590QQihZ006QQitemZ160115090679QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW) but the guy says that they will only fit the 2 seater. However, on the Tokico website (http://www.hitachi-hap-la.com/TokicoGasShocks/app/19a.html) there is no mention of a difference between the 2 seater and the 2+2. Personally I cant see why there would be a difference, but I dont really want to buy them and have them shipped to Australia just to find out they dont fit (especially as we didnt get the 2 seater over here). Thanks for any help anyone can give me. Hayden

Crikey
I was sad to to read about the death of Steve. What a shock it was to sign out of hotmail onto ninemsn to find out about it too. Needless to say, I had a few beers for Steve Monday night with the other Aussie I had dinner with in Japan.

Other cars you own, or drive?
At the moment the train is my form of transportation. Probably going to buy an AE82 Corolla as a run about for the weekends and would love a new ML Mitsubihsi Triton to tow the Datto around when its done.

Going to Japan, need things to do.
I am going to Tokyo in late August to visit a very good mate of mine. I intend to have a good look around at the car museums, swap meets etc and give you an idea of what you can do. I have also heard that its worth going to Fuji speedway on a drift day. My mate went for a look one day and ended up in the passenger seat of an R32 going aournd the track a few times.

280ZX Bushings
G'day all, I am in the process of replacing the bushings in the front end of my 82 280ZX. Tonight I intended to replace the front control arm bushings but came across a problem. The bushings I recieved from MSA (urethane) have a larger diameter than the standard ones. The busings I have for the rear (also from MSA) are the correct diameter but are longer than necessary. Was there a difference between bushings for the coupe and the 2+2? Cheers Haydos

1978 Datsun Farilady 280Z 2 Seater (S130) Oz Ebay
H stands for the L28 Engine. From my experience with the 280ZX, I would be weary of the rust around the fuel cap in the rear quarter. This area tends to be a major rust spot. Other areas I would look out for are both rear window sills and the surrounds of the tail lights. Its amazing what you find when you remove bits.

OT-Carl Stahlnecker Died June 16th
Very sorry to hear about the passing of Bambi Killer. You could almost always guarantee that when you read a thread, his contribution would be there. From reading everyone's messages here, it sounds like he spent most of his days and nights on here helping people. RIP Mate.

For Sale but not on Ebay - my 260Z turbo special
Sorry to hear that the 260 has to go, but once you have that 280ZX going, you will be a happy man once again.

How is The Project going?
Not much has happened since I had it painted in January this year. Got a lot of parts lying around ready to go (mainly interior), but I am waiting for some seals to arrive from MSA so I can stop water getting in my car. I really have to take a few weeks off work so I can redo the front and rear suspension and start looking at getting the engine rebuilt. Recently, I have also started helping out a mate who is running in the VRC (Victorian Rally Championship) this year. That has unfortunatly left me with little time on my weekends to work on the Zed.

Might be good news.
Fingers croseed very tightly. That would be close to the perfect finish for any Zed car (unless of course you still have originals).

Have a Top Australia Day!
Spent Aussie day at cricket training in the morning and then the afternoon watching the cricket sipping on a few Crownies in the hot summer weather. zhead240, we dont really drink Fosters down here. We tend to export the $^!# beer and make the whole world think we drink it for some reason. Make it a VB

Help please
The previous owner of my car decided to put silicone around the seals of the windows and targa tops instead of replacing the seals. I now have a problem of bits of silicone on my chrome trimming parts. Does anyone know the best way to remove the silicone (which has been there for at least a few years) so I can clean and polish up the chrome?
