Anyone know how much a pair of 40mm Webbers should sell for? A mate of mine is selling a pair that he was going to put on his TA23 Celica until he got 45's.

I know that this isnt Zed related but need some help finding parts for another car in my family. I have a 79' Honda Prelude and want to know if there is anywhere similar to MSA that sell $^!# loads of parts for early Honda's. I have tried to get parts over here in Australia but no one carries parts (including Honda) due to the fact that the car is over 20 years old. Thanks for any help you guys are able to give me Hayden

Back in the early 80's, Benson & Hedges were giving away a 280ZX to the player of the series for a cricket series over here. I saw it in the background on a replay last year and nearly creamed myself. Nissan are also replaying a 350Z ad at the moment showing the history of the Zed with a few 240/260 photos followed by a side profile of the 280ZX, Z31 and Z32.

Forgot to say before, dont go for a V6 turbo, go an L28 turbo

Good to see that somebody else around here is interested in a 280ZX project :knockedou . I say go for it, try and find a coupe but you will be in for a long hard look. If you dont have any luck finding one, just do what Iam doing and rip out the back seats and register it as a 2 seater.
  6. That car has been for sale for a very long time (longer than 6 months). Originally the price he wanted was somewhere near $13000 from memory.
  7. My advice. If you want somthing that goes fast now that you dont have to wait for, go out and get yourself an R32 Skyline GTSt. In my opinion they are a lot better car than the S13's and the should/will be able to retain their value a $^!# load better On the other hand, if you would like to have the old school car, listen to what Gav has to say. $15000 will buy you an extremely mint condition 2 seater Zed. Also dont write off the L engine. The L28 is a good and strong engine.

Dave, It was good to see an L powered Zed running onto the 12's. Your setup and times are very impressive. Hopefully one day there are a few more L engines running times into the 12's and 13's.

There was also a few Datto 1600 wagons running CA18's or SR20 turbo's that were consistenly running in the 13's. They were very impressive. One 1600 sedan even had what sounded like a big block V8 in it that must have been crammed into the engine bay. Unfortunatley though, Ripper didnt run his R32 so I cant tell you how fast that went. Hopefully he will run it one day when he gets the balls.

The 240Z that ran 12.37 had an L28 with a GT35 turbo. It just looked as if he built up the engine and just found any old body to put it in. It was also a single spinner so that makes the time even more impressive. Gavin Armstrong (surname correct?) ran his 260 that some of you may remember from Nationals with the silver paintjob with the stripes and the number '551'. He ran a best time of about 14.5 sec.

Whilst reading the Cars Guide in Friday's Herald Sun, I came across some information that may interest some people. Whilst also researching this a bit further, I came across information on the NDSOC website. Next Saturday (28th May) there is the Nissan/Datsun Test and tune day at Heathcote. Info can be found here: http://www.ndsoc.com.au/mambo/content/view/18/2/

MSA sell the ZG flares for $199 US for a set of four, which works out to be about $240 - $250 AU. Shipping wouldnt be too bad as the shipping package weighs 30 pounds. http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=50-1562&Category_Code=7BSA

if you like it that much, you could always fork out for the convertible conversion. as for a targa 260Z, good luck. I would just buy a 280ZX.
