Vic British
Gee, I ordered a free VB catalogue from their website and it arrived in Alice Springs about 3 weeks later. Its just a soft cover magazine style with 131 pages. I cant find any heater control knobs in there for you, but it hasnt got a few other little bits and pieces I was chasing either. The freight charges are calculated on purchase value as you probably know, so it makes it too expensive for smaller orders to overseas.

260Z 2 Seater
He has been trying to sell that one for about 10 months on ozdat and a couple of other forums. Price was about $8500 to start with, but did have some flash wheels on it at one stage. It hasnt had a RWC for a while either, so you would want to have a good look at it. But $4000 seems to be reasonable if it's in as good condition as the pics indicate and you dont mind the colour (VT SS??)

Springs in OZ, Kings, Lovells and Eibach
Scott, I have just been throught this whole process myself. I ended up going with king springs on the recommendation of a mate who has them on his car. I havent installed them yet, so sorry I cant comment on ride or height. With the shocks, I found it really hard to source a reasonable set for close to a reasonable price in Oz. Monroe no longer make them for the front, they stopped in 1999, but the rear are readily available. I steered clear of Gabriel, again on the advise of someone else, but I have them on my ute and am not overly impressed with them. They are stocked as choice brand of 'super cheap auto' but draw what you like from that good or bad. zworx put me on to the only Aust distributor/wholesaler for KYB shocks and he priced me a touch under $300 a pair. Anyhow, I ended up ordering a set (all 4) of Tokico's from www.shox.com for $249 US, plus $49 freight. So a good price compared to locally. They have KYB's for $129 for all 4 if you want those which is also heaps cheaper than local. They do springs too. That was the best I could find after a lot of searching. Hope you get something useful out of all my babbling

Rear Brake Bits (Aust)
Hi All, I have a pair of Tokico rear wheel cylinders and other rear brake bits from a 240z. They have been completely rebuilt and resleeved with new pistons, seals, caps and adjusters. They are in perfect nick and have never been installed. I've got a set of as new brake shoes that I will throw in as well. They have been sitting on a rolling shell for since March but have never been connected up. I'm open to offers as I dont really know how much to ask. I've got the rest of the rear brake assemblies that someone can have if they want. Just need to pay postage from Alice. Unfortunately the actual drums are rubbish. Thanks

Front Door Seal
You could try these guys. I know that they arent the cheapest for some makes, but have no idea how they compare for z stuff. Of course nissan would probably be easiest, but would definitely not be cheapest. http://www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au/Datsun%201969-78%20240Z-260Z.htm Sorry, I dont know how to do a link fancy like.

Springs/shocks combo.
Thanks all for your replies. I have gone with a set of Tokico's from shox.com. Will be delivered to my door for less than what I can get KYB's for here in Aust.

Springs/shocks combo.
Hi All, Im re-doing the entire suspension on my '72 240z and am looking for an opinion from someone who has a similar set up to what I am after. I have already purchased a set of lowered king springs and am looking for a set of shocks to go with them. I didnt want to spend a whole bucket on the shocks and am looking at KYB at this stage at about $400 for all four. Has anyone got this setup, or can anyone foresee any problems using standard shocks with lowered springs. In an extreme case, I guess the spring could dislodge when the shocks are at full travel. Any ideas of an alternate set-up and price would be great. It doesnt seem real easy to source shocks for a 240 in oz. Thanks

Doing up a Zed
I have a couple of manuals, but I think the best one for what you are after is "How to Restore your Datsun Z car" by Wick Humble. It's probably best used in conjunction with a sevice type manual though (haynes, factory). It covers pretty much everything and I got it ordered through Dymocks (spelling) for $42.

Uni Joints
Hi All, Can someone please tell me where to get replacement Uni-joints for a '72 240z apart from the Z shops or Nissan. Thanks Again.

All Z Carpet Kit
Hi All, Has anyone bought the Carpet Kit from AllZ parts in Sydney. The guy described it a "2 x floor carpet and sill, and cargo area". It's $235 which is pretty good, but too much to throw away it's not real flash. Also, any one got any suggestion where to get new diff mounts for a reasonable price? Thanks

For Z rubber bits in Australia www.scottsoldautorubber.com.au is a good spot.

Where's Spares?
Hi All, I'm after somewhere that has parts for a '71 240z. I'm working in Alice Springs at the moment and there isnt a whole lot of stuff out here. If anyone can suggest a wrecker or store that has anything can they please let me know. I'm not fussed about where it is. I've been getting most stuff off Ebay and Classifieds online, but postage from the US starts to add up real quick. A list of places in OZ may not be a bad idea to start anyhow for all the people on here. Thanks.

Which FSM?
Hi All, I have a '71 240z with an L28 and 240z Su's in it. I have ordered the FSM for the body and chassis but I am unsure which manual would be best for the engine. Am I best off getting the manual for the L28, or are the engines that close it wouldnt matter, and the 240Z manual would be better for the carbs and other associated bits?? Any opinions would be much appreciated Thanks Again.

Will Tokico shocks fit??
Hi guys, I'm looking at buying a set of new Tokico shocks. The guy who has them bought them for his 260z, but I want to know if they will fit my '71 240z. The model number is 3012 and the Tokico website lists them as for 74.5-78 260 and 280 models. Would they just need a spacer or something to fit, or would they be no good at all. Just looking for an answer before I spend $20 on an international phone call to Tokico. Thanks
