Yair...I was thinkin' the same thing Miles, so...just for 240KMan...here's the scan from the parts cattledog of the window regulator for the 240K GT and GL. NO mention anywhere in this parts manual for power windows. I had a dig through electrical and options as well. I've included a scan of the cover of the manual for reference 'nother post coming:)

This is from the same book, a chronological listing of all Skylines to 1983. Note the "first selling time" of S47.9 (no idea about the "S" in this context) Second pic; if you look around the pic of the white C110 you will note the same "47" with the year 1972 in brackets. I cannot read Japanese but that seems to me to be suggesting this was the year of release? If anyone can interpret this for us , it would be greatly appreciated!? Anyway Tom, there's my case. It's been fun. Like I said , I like a challenge, now it's back to you for the case for 1973:p Cheers, Jim

Hiya Tom, Miles, Everyone! Goodonya Tom, I love a challenge:p Hey Miles, I had a look, beside (left) my hazard switch is the fan motor switch. Up beside (right) the radio is a capped blank. There is a separate parking lamp switch mounted below and to the left of the steering column, when operated it lights the drivers side parking lights only...like some Euro stuff? Here's what I base the SEPT/ 1972 release date on Tom. Taken from the 1983 issue of The Skyline Symbol of 25 years of Quality(since 1957) Any reference to the year of a particular model or event appears to be a number that, if you add 25 to it, you get the Gregorian calendar year. For example, the pics I've posted mention 47 48 with reference to the C110. This translates to 72 and 73. I don't know why this is, it would seem to refer to 1925 as a starting point or event in Japan. Perhaps Industrial Japan was first on it's feet by then?? If anyone can answer this I'd be happy to hear about it. Anyway, back to the evidence! The first pic is the first adv. for a kgc110 I could find. Note the 47 9 reference in two places of the script at the bottom of the Ken&Mary adv. I interpret that as 1972 Sept.

They sure did! Confined to the JDM models though.I've only ever seen one in Australia, an imported Skyline badged C110 two door with lotsa options including power windows.(~20 years ago in Newtown!) The K&HGC110 GTX ES & EL model Skylines from 9/72 on would have been the most likely candidates. I have a '71-'72 KGC10 GTX that has factory fast glass! I do have a 240K parts manual I can check later........ Jim.

Well you had me tricked Rick! As soon as I saw the reference to "Precious" my mind immediately conjured up images of "Gollum" from "Lord of the rings" with his fixation on "My Precious!", an all absorbing ring he fished out of a river (when he was known as Smeagol). .....And here's me imagining Rick walking around talking to himself, doing a passable impersonation of poor little Gollum

240k for sale KPGC110 Apparently.
This is Ray Fergusons (AKA Prince) car. A production line oddity. It does carry a KPGC110 chassis number, and rear wheel disc brakes, but Ray believes it left the factory as a GT-X, single cam L20 twin side draughts. Ray has done a fantastic job on the mechanicals with the RB setup with triple dcoe 18's and a distributer. Anyone remember the thread here? Jim.

Dyno results of Rebello rebuilt engine
Thanks Steve! . A very informative post. I have a growing interest in the characteristics of the Nissan L6, and your .xls file along with your explanation of what you were after is just great. I hope you go with the sound of long headers into a twin system. I would love to hear a Rebello engine "bellow" through one of these. Jim.

Not that anyone is likely to ever see one....but I have a correction for one of the more obscure motors on the list. The 2.5 litre Prince motors G11 6 cylinder used a Four Barrel Hitachi carb. 20 odd years ago I saved an S41 Gloria Grande from being pushed into a landfill. The motor was complete with its four barrel hitachi. It was destined to go into one of my Prince Skylines using a set of triple webers to replace the 4 barrel ....but like nearly all my Prince stuff, all gone now :disappoin Peculiar thing about the engine number, it was exactly one number prior (earlier) to the first listed in the parts manual Jim.

Ha Haaa I loved it! but I'd only heard it sung by "Peter Paul and Mary" before today. A much more energetic version, if played while driving, it makes your whole body wanna join in, like dancing the Samba while hanging onto a steering wheel....geez ya get some looks in traffic!!! ..but then they can't hear it! Arlo's version sounds like he'd need wipers on the inside of his screen It's all good fun,..right up there with; (Altogether now with the famous Guthrie nasal twang).... " I don't want a pickle, I just wanna ride on ma motorsickle.."

Fan clutch seized - repercussions?
Apart from sounding like a Cessna...I don't think you'll have any problems from the seized fan clutch. Last year I drove my 240K 1100 Km ( about 650 miles) over two days with a siezed fan clutch, most of it at highway speeds. Better to fix it sooner than later. Much quieter and more pleasant to drive, and less strain on water pump bearings. Jim.

'66 Prince Skyline GTB
Is that the one from the "MuscleCar Museum"? A good starting point for a restoration.....for a very dedicated enthusiast. You can get some parts but....boy you need lotsa money,helpful Japanese connections and patience. I first played with these in 1973, by 1983 I had three in various states of repair, and only recently parted with my last. Careful,...they get into your blood . ..And you can't do with out these guys! Aussie Prince and Skyline owners ...if only I had a big shed ..lotsa money...hmmm Aghh good onya Mr C!

Classic Japanese Car Show Oct 1 in Long Beach
Not yet Lachlan,...not yet, but I think the time is fast approaching when a classic Japanese vehicles show would be an attractive consideration for a switched on promoter. Our biggest problem in Australia putting together the cars that would bring people in, is "The tyranny of distance", relatively small target groups spread over a huge area. That being said I can see smaller gatherings in each state, utilising car clubs to ramp up interest over time in a national gathering. Amazing how easy it is to say , but the reality will be a lot of work for a lot of people...over a considerable amount of time. The guys of the Prince & Skyline Register of Australia called their first ever National meeting over three days in May 2004 in Beechworth, Victoria. A fantastic time, I went into Weber overload , but it kicked so many things into action on the Prince scene in Australia & New Zealand. Maybe fuel for another thread for further discussion? Jim.

...and welcome. It's good to see another early Skyline join the forum. Even though it is an early Z car site, us Skyline owners have been made to feel nothing but welcome, and you are right...a great place for Nissan L series information. There is a lot of experience here. When it comes to Prince and Skyline, early Nissan performance cars and motorsport, this seems to be the place! :classic: I'm with Alfadog, I'd love to see and hear more about your "Hakosuka" :ninja: Just for the heck of it I'll start with a pic of mine Definitely be talking with you later! GTX coupe tail lights and rear panel for sale

The unit was found sitting in a garage, where it has been for the last 20 odd years! Condition is described as unmarked.
