My introduction
G'day Miles, Thanks for the links and info. I do remember reading the exchange between Brian and the other guy, as Brian pointed out, all it would take to confirm his claim is a pic of the chassis rail stamped prefix...oh well. My Skyline is also a '72 GT-X (GT-R Clone) very similar to Brians before the upgrades, so I enjoy reading anything you have to say about them. Can you tell me more about Uchida Motor Works ? Another thought Miles,...if someone was after parts, badges etc for the KGC10 and KGC110, are you a possible alternative to Yahoo .JP? mainly GT-R clone bits, over fenders, stuff like that. :classic: I think this photo is great! really catches the agressive stance/look of the KGC10 and is enhanced by the modern vehicles around it! Cheers, Jim.

240z finally registered!
Looks alright Vince. Will the suspension always be marginal with those wheels? What else can you do (pump the guards, add ZG type flares?) to make it a permanently acceptable setup? Is the only problem the offset of the Watties? Nice to see your progress :classic: Jim.

Zcar Microfiche CD (do I need one?)
I've had exactly the same experience Gary. Late seventies ;Went to a dealers parts warehouse, and got laughed at (literally!) when asking after parts for a low volume performance model. Eventually got hold of a parts book and...waddaya know!? " Geez mate , I never knew we had any of these left!!" or " Ohh OK,... so THAT'S what these bits are for!" One trip they found a head casting still in it's cardboard box that was listed NLA years before. It happened to be beside or under whatever they were checking for me, and thought I might be interested (ooh yea!)....So yeah, if you can ask by part number rather than part description, it can open up a whole new world!! Jim.

wrong firing order but it ran perfet
How long you had the V6 in there Gav? Sorry mate! I couldn't resist :classic: ...It can only be 1-5-3-6-2-4 in the Nissan L6. The cam demands it, as does the crank. People can do funny things with dizzie caps and leads, that can confuse and befuddle. Multiply this by the power of having the dizzie drive gear out a tooth or two...(can't do that to a Nissan?) divide by reading the rotation backwards....well you see the capacity for confusion. There are other ways to get the timing way out of kilter, but only once you've had the engine apart. Start afresh! I'll bet you just read it a bit cockeyed. Jim.

tripple SUs on L24
Now that is an interesting setup. During the '60's and '70's it was a very popular mod for the Aussie Holden "Red 6" motor. Can you tell us a bit more about this one?? Never seen it on an L6 before!

Hiya Sakijo, ..and Welcome! Thanks for the information. Do you know of Rocky Auto ? I see from their site they seem to specialise in the RB conversion to a few cars. What is "Monkys Office in Osaka"? Are they an agent or a dealer? It'd be good to see some photos of your 4 door Skyline Jim

My introduction
Same car alright Brian! I keep in contact with Ron, He and his son Greg have a soft spot for the old Skyline. Is the motor you pulled out a 2.8 litre? I'd be suprised if it was still the original 2 litre, running the triples and all the rest of the good gear. might be worth investigating considering all the nice internal bits available in Japan to build up a healthy L6. I would love to establish the history of mine. My interest in this model stems from owning and playing with the earlier Prince Skyline GTB's.These were sold through dealerships in Australia from 1965 ~ 1968. It was at the inaugural Australian Prince owners national meeting that I first met Ron....and had a drive of the KGC10. As far as I know there are 4 other KGC10's in Australia..2 of those are works in progress. They were never sold new in Australia. You sound like you were pretty serious about getting one, how did you get interested in such a relatively little heard of car? (outside Japan!) Good luck with gathering the old Skylines together, and when you do...let's hear about it, I'd love to see pics of that event!! Jim.

My introduction
G'day Brian, ....and welcome! good to see another KGC10 owner. That's an interesting twist on the KGC10. Nice to see you'll have suspension and brakes to back up the RB. My preference is for the original look, with the Watanabes even if what's under the bonnet is later technology something to do with the fact I'm pushin' 50 :classic: . then again, there are so many already done with the triples, watties, silver paint etc your departure from the masses makes it all the more interesting. I don't think I would ever do that to mine, and because of that it will never be the track weapon yours promises to be If you're familiar with the old Prince Skyline GT, I have a friend who has done much the same to his Prince as you've done to the C10...(aagh! bloody turbos, they're takin' over!..give me the induction roar and exhaust note of a normally aspirated mill anyday) Thanks for the great pics too, and please keep us up to date on your progress. I just wish I could see the finished product in action! Jim.

Ken & Mary in West LA
This model, or the export version of it, was sold in Australia and elswhere around the pacific as a Datsun 240K, probably to align it with the earlier released and popular Datsun 240Z (you guys have heard of them..right?). My daily driver is a 1975 4 door version of the same car. You may have noticed the Datsun 240K discussion forum on this site? ... well this sorta car is what we are all about. '73-'79 Skyline, Datsun 240K, basically all the same thing under C110 code. Jim.

Finally! on the road!
The Prince originally had a big electric boot mounted pump, similar to what's in the KGC10 now. This is a much smaller pump physically, but has no problem with supplying a constant pressure. It has been used successfully in a Holley 750 equipped small block in an inboard ski boat. It simply sits in series in the original fuel line, and is independant of the original fuel pump. FUEL TANK------INLINE ELECTRIC PUMP----FILTER-----ORIGINAL PUMP---OPT.FILTER-------CARBY I'll dig it out Wednesday and organise something with you. Jim.

Finally! on the road!
If you must use the EFi pump, you'll also need to install an inline fuel pressure regulator to ensure the line pressure does not get high enough to upset your carby (needle and seat, float bowl venting, gaskets....). I have a (modern) electric pump from the Prince project you can try until you figure out the best option. It's a simple boot mount setup, and is used in conjuction with the mechanical pump. Jim.

240K coupe project car for sale Gold Coast
An offer of $1800 Australian is a little under 800 pounds sterling...or U.K. Worth your while Lachlan to round up an even $1000 cash and front up with a few "hundred" notes just peepin' out of your bulging shirt front pocket. You know ...just drop in to look at his car while "on the way to check out another" :devious:

Solex Solex Solex
Zpoint (Guus) a member here, might be able to sell you a Mikuni manual, at a nice price, that's where I got mine. The triples are really only suited to a motor that has been built with 6 chokes in mind, you know..cam, headwork, extractors,.. part of a package. A nice trait of the mikunis is they seem to be almost a set and forget item, or in other words, once you got 'em right...don't mess with 'em! Get the manual and make a project of detailing them, and putting them together just right. They do make an expensive decoration...but you 're spot on about the look! That would be some conversation piece for the garage :classic: Jim.

Datsun wheel identification help
First mention I can find is Sept. 1975, for the top of the line 1976 Skyline. last one I can find is for the 1978-79 C210-211 series. As Steve has pointed out, it's distribution was probably world wide, but not common. where are you located Dan? Jim.

Datsun wheel identification help
Hi there, These wheels were first fitted to the C111 (Nissan Skyline) on the Japanese domestic market, I'll get back to about the date, but it was mid '70s. This was not the only Nissan they were fitted to over the following years, we saw them in Australia on later Skylines, but I believe they (the C111 series) were the first. I'll see what else I can dig up on them. Cheers, Jim.

Nostalgic Hero on eBay
Hi Eric, I'm interested in anything technical/mechanical for the KGC10's like mine!! I love those underbelly shots of cars with highly detailed underbody and suspension, it's something for me further down the track. Same for extreme attention to details under the bonnet/hood. I have 1 issue only, and the only skyline info is much detail on a showroom perfect, S20 powered KPGC10....very nice, but I'm after ideas to keep the "L" gata looking the best it possibly can. Thanks, Jim.

From memory it was the Lotus twincam 1600. It is a reasonably serious race car, probably set up NOT to handle like that! ...yeah, fishtailing was what I knew it as as well....Gee! are you old too Mr C? djeva chucka broadie on your Malvern Star?(or was it Speedwell?) Jim.

Hear the beast roar!
Video . It's only 6 seconds but sounds ok. I found a short video of myself and friend in our KGC10's playing at Oran Park Raceway, Sept. 2004. I've uploaded it to the Z Videos and member galleries. Mine is the second car, not going as hard  as the other KGC10 belonging to a friend. Thanks to John at Unique Autosports Sydney . Some good video in their downloads area. Jim.
