Hear the beast roar!
Video . It's only 6 seconds but sounds ok. I found a short video of myself and friend in our KGC10's playing at Oran Park Raceway, Sept. 2004. I've uploaded it to the Z Videos and member galleries. Mine is the second car, not going as hard  as the other KGC10 belonging to a friend. Thanks to John at Unique Autosports Sydney . Some good video in their downloads area. Jim.

Was this a z??
"OK people move along move along, nuttin' ta see here even vaguely related to a Zed car!!" As Mr Camo stated, Australian kit car loosely styled after the '68-73 Corvette. "Perentti" I believe is an Aboriginal word for Goanna or large lizard!?! This particular one has been further (heavily) modified to represent the star car from the Mark Hammil Movie of the '80's "Corvette Summer". The real car from the movie came "down under" for a promo tour and ended up for sale in a Parramatta (lookit up) car yard!...saw the movie when it came out, and saw the car in the sale yard. You gotta remember, late seventies, early eighties the custom car, body kits, aero kits, murals etc were king...this car was the ducks nuts... for a short while, bit like disco clothes I s'pose! Bit of trivia and probably why the car was sold in Australia,...it was built right hand drive for the movie!! Jim.

Great Escape 2005
Kim, I'm doing a little electrical work on a '69 Holden Kingswood Bash car at home tomorrow (Friday). It's fairly well sorted if you want to have a close up look at a car thats just about ready to go. Some interesting mods. It will run in the Bakery to Bethany Bash in August. Jim.

I love that sound Dave. Sounds like one very happy engine. What spec cam is that? ..and what's the exhaust layout (3x2 into 2 pipes or 1 big one?!) Jim. :classic:

drooool....
I think you are spot on Chris. My C10 was retrimmed a few years ago in , what appears to be the correct vinyl. People often ask (and sometimes tell me!)"Is it leather?", I suspect only because it is still nice and supple, and a quality job done with later technology upholstery vinyls. Jim.

Top speed and MPG of 1974 260z??? help
Hi Steve, It's a bit of a tangent, but is the glovebox tyre placard in Kilometres per hour, or miles an hour?. For safetys sake it's a big difference. 100mph is ~ 160 kph...or 100kph is ~60 mph. Jim.

Racecar replica
Really? G'day Eric, was the car a real PGC10? a 4door GT-R? or a GC10 Skyline GT? Could it have been an R192 rear end from a GT-R swapped into a 2000 GT that had the rest of its driveline beefed up? Hot "L" series etc? By the way, the other GT-R lookalike KGC10 in Australia is up for sale. Nathan (owner) was using it more and more for circuit days and is worried as he gets faster the risk of bending it increases, so he now has a pretty little race setup 510 coupe for fun, track days, and feels 7 (it's not fair I know!) road cars is a bit much, so the Skyline is on the market down this way. Oh, and ..arrr..sorry about all the question marks, I got 'em cheap down the markets and had to get rid of a few before they go off  Cheers mate, Jim.

For those interested in 1973 Skyline GT-R KPGC110
G'day Mike, I did try placing this in the galleries, didn't seem to like it as it is, but no message I could see saying so. Perhaps it's too big? or is .pdf upsetting things? Thanks. Jim.

1981 L2.8 compression
Here's something I have done in years gone by that has definitely worked on motors with erratic/low compression. NOTE!! This technique WILL create more smoke than the '94 bushfires, so keep this in mind when you choose a site to start work! Remove all sparkplugs. Remove airfilter box from carby. Add 20 ml of your choice of upper cylinder lubricant/ cleaner to each cylinder through the plug hole (I used on old plastic syringe with the prescribed amount of "REDEX" but I'm not sure if it's available in your neighbourhood!) Let this sit overnight if possible, but at least a coupla hours. This is where it gets a bit messy. Cover the open plug holes with a rag or other absorbent material to prevent the expelled leftover lubricant/cleaner spraying your engine bay ...and you! Spin your motor on the starter for a count of five. Remove rag/material from engine bay.Replace sparkplugs.Clean up. Start engine and raise idle to around 1500-2000rpm. For a downdraught carbied motor, slowly dribble about 100ml down the intake. For twin sidedraughts, perhaps a syringe with a bit of flexible tubing? Apart from replacing your airbox and going for a bit of a drive to blast the remnants out of the cylinders...that's about it! The idea is the lubricant/cleaner soaks into any carbon and varnish around the rings and the ringland areas of the pistons, softening the rubbish and breaking it's "grip" removing any restriction to the ring sealing action. The shot through the carby is aimed at the valve seat and immediate area, usually better served by cleaner fuel and additive/cleaning agent added to tank fill ups over a longer period of time. This is a basic cleaning process, if the gunk isn't there to begin with, it's not going to have much of an effect. Oh, and for the comments you'll no doubt get during the first 5-10 mins of driving after trying this....tell 'em it's a limited edition 2 stoke version of the Datsun Z. In my experience, the motors that showed improvement after this treatment were much easier to tune afterwards. Good luck with it, Jim.

The R380 outside Japan
Before I read your post Chris, I thought the same thing, but didn't feel game enough to say it :nervous: Thanks Alan, I've only seen a few pics of the V12 engines. I thought the Cam covers looked just like those of the S20. I don't think I have a pic of the GR8 out of a chassis, but what I could see didn't resemble anything else I've seen. The GR8 has a seperate cover for each cam? Is that Car Graphic book available...hard to come by....or "forget it!" ? Thanks for the pics of the A680X. I think they were lucky Sakurai came along :cheeky: !! Jim.

The R380 outside Japan
G'day again Alan, I also was in contact with Lincoln Small re the first R380 and it's BT8 connection. I sent him a few quality pics. His last email said it was rumored 12 BT8 chassis' were sent to Prince Motors, but this could not be confirmed. His last email was Lincoln Small . My last contact was Feb. 2004. South Africa you say? Interesting! Was the R382 GRX V12 basically 2 S20s' grafted at the crank?..but 5.9 litre? I read Shinichiro Sakurai had a twin turbo version set up on a work bench!! Is there any good info out there on the R383 or this earlier Nissan A680X project? I think I can dig up a few more titbits on the 380 lineage, be a few days though. Catch ya then eh? Jim.

A bit of Z432-R info
I think that's it in a nutshell Alan. It really reads like they saw the car simply as a hotted up version of a 240Z, which I suppose to the casual uninformed observer....that's all it appears to be. I'm just happy I know better...now! Please do not hesitate to set things straight. I certainly appreciate any input relating to the Prince/Nissan performance car history, it's so d*mn hard to come by. Thanks Alan! Cheers, Jim.
