Hey dude really sorry to see something like that, makes me think again before i even go out on a track with my car . I'm even more frustrated i never got to see your car when it was in one piece. I'm wondering if that other car in your garage could be used as more than a roof donor now? Best of luck at getting things back together.
  7. It's not a bad car, I saw this in person too around my area a few times the paint is very good and the car is ok. I don't mind it being hacked up because it's a 2+2 and their roof line don't impress me all that much. He's lying but i saw this car for sale already in a magazine hehe. cheaky begger . He wanted more in the vacinity of $11,000 at the time I'm pretty sure. Looks like it has a P90 head on it. Hmmm i guess it depends how much you wanna spend and if you want a convertible Z.

Those Porsche seats are very pricey especially later model probably because of the electrics which I wouldn't both with in the Z myself anyway. I saw a 944 the other day with some nice seats in it that would suit a Z. Worthwhile considering i guess but I'd have to research those prices. Nothing on Ebay in Australia anyway maybe more luck in the US. Meanwhile I found the attached photo on an ebay car that has been posted on the forums recently. I think these seats work well because there not oversized like most seats you see these days. They also follow the original design flow. I wanna know what type they are anyone know? Gav:geek:

Looks like a great car i think it's owned by a business i am not 100% though. I think i found the seats I want however . They are just right for the Z. I'd say go for it looks to be a good all around car, maybe go see in person if possible first though. Gav:cheeky:

When i read about your post James I thought well hang on you have to do them properly as I'm told they are a trick area and IMHO not worth going cheap on. As i read on i realised what you were getting at though hehe. Go Zworx Rob has done mine and I can't complain. Gav
  19. You have to relocate the catch where the locking mechanism on the door is and perhaps also the mount where the door hangs off. The skins would fit as they are the same dimensions but it's a bit of work either way and i think most just repair 240z doors. I have not completely confirmed this but was told when I wanted to fix my 240z doors. on my old 240z, my new 240z still has this issue and I will address soon just deciding on if i should repray the entire car as the paint job on my bonnet wasn't the best when i had that redone.
  20. I think the door skins will fit but the locking and mounting positions between 240z and 260z are quite different.

My current Z has been pretty good to me it's all about preventative maintenance rather than fixing things when they break. I had many problems with my previous Z due to PO's and poor rewiring taking shortcuts etc.. The way i look at my z is more of a weekend car, I take public transport and rarely drive it during the week. The only way you can really daily drive it is to spend lots of money on servicing, yep sure sometimes you wanna sell it but think about how many other cars have problems. Even new cars break down, I remember a lady was getting into her brand new car Holden Vectra at my parking lot where i attend Uni and I could tell she was turning the key not action I said can i help at all and she was like it's brand new it's not supposed to do this. She had called for help and I said i won't jump start it then just incase as some new cars don't like it. I laughed as i turned the key in my 30+ yrd car and she fired over first time hehe. Another words dont get too down maybe your not spending enough money on it and fixing the right things before they become problems?? Gav
  22. This would be what i'd try first .
  23. yea do what I SAYS. j/k around but it must mean i spend too much time on here .

Sorry dude but honestly the best place is Zworx goto www.viczcar.com and follow the forums, recommended specialists has the contact details listed or in fact www.zworx.com.au i had to fix both of mine but it cost me ~$200 ea side. Yours looks a fair bit worse so i think $450 is quite reasonable as it's not an easy area of the car the weld up. Gav:tapemouth
