Pictures of Custom Interiors
First of all Hi Will, So your sick of the RB20? What will go in it's place another RB engine? I too am looking at my interior these days as I'd like something a bit show pony like. I like Z rushes interior but I like to keep more within the classic theme. I especially like the diamond stich vinyl over the strut towers and transmission tunnel it just looks so classy. Zrush your interior is great take no offence infact I had taken a few ideas from it. I just am in love with the diamond pattern dunno if it's the 70'z porn effect . I like the way you retained the original seats I have been tossing up between going race seats or reupholstering the old ones like you have. What i really wanna deal with is the centre console and as much as i love original I keep thinking of fabricating something that bit better. I was considering using the old one as a template and making something out of the same material as the dash or even aluminium as the plastic just isn't strong. Hmmm maybe i'm thinking too far ahead of my wallet . Either way keep the ideas coming guys. :classic:

engine
Ok no need to feel bad you don't know. The P30 would indicate an earlier style block definately l26 or l24. On the right hand side of the motor opposite the intake and exhaust manifolds. There should be a number stamped onto the block starting with L24 or L26 that will indicate your engine size. I believe above that will be a head stamp saying E88 most likely let me know if it's otherwise.:classic:

Wantanabe Price?
I converted the figure so they cost you about $509.977 AUD great price was that for just the 2 or a set of 4? I'd really love a set of Wantanabe's for my Z I have the superlites if you look in my gallery but the Wantanabe's are just that bit nicer and of course the all time great wheel for the Z in my opinion. I wanna polish mine up but.

Nick Howell's Big Sam
I can't take the credit Nick sent me this photo along with others. He was having trouble uploading due to their pixel dimensions as the description states. It's a very nice car indeed and it's the real thing alright painstakingly restored by Nick. Hopefully he will upload the rest soon.

carbs . Check float levels, richness, lean condition. Vacumm leaks, hmmm check the plugs see if they have fouled up at all. Hmmm could be distributor but very hard to tell from explanation. Once you had set your carbs correct. Then we will worry about that the distributor.

max revs for cast pistons
Nick H am i to understand your the owner of the restored BIG SAM from the UK ? I read the article on zhome.com a while back and was very interested if you have any pics of the car please share . As the others say i don't think your cast iron pistons will be the problem in your motor. But that's from what i read not first hand experience. Have you read the How to Modify and Race your L engine? Book? It's possible to get a Z to make power above 6500rpm. My mates car runs to 7500rpm no worries it's the SU's that restrict him from there.

Thanks for the reply i had a think about it anyway and decided it's not worth buying even so that i could sell them for more later. So if anyone wants them there here at. http://octane.nt4.com/firesport/?section=item&action=show&id=5380 I wasn't gonna fit them on my Z anyway just thinking about them because I was under the impression that they were sort after and expensive. Thanks Again.

What engine does your 240Z have???
Currently nested under the bonnet is an L28 and i've never been late . It's a early E88 head N42 valves porting/polish elec ignition etc currently on stock SUs. I honestly don't think you need another engine unless it's for the ooohhhh! factor that most people do when you say the code RB26 but depends on what driving you will be doing and where you wanna go. The old L24 block is in safe keeping so i can revert back to original. Power is an estimate around 200HP. The old owner said it was over 200HP! with the tripple mikuni's that were on the car so yeah!!. Goes well anyway.:cheeky:

Thanks Ben yes she's indeed very straight. Except 1 or 2 small dints that probably only i know of and nobody would notice. I have intentions of putting the bumper back on at some stage just gotta save the $$$ to chrome her up. And no overiders either . Your car looks nice Ben don't feel to down on it

Agreed not sure why you don't feel it flows Brian maybe the front spoiler isn't the best taste and maybe the flares arn't your cup of tea but it's definately a looker. I agree deep dish rims are great but at the same time I don't like color coated vents i have them on my car and after seeing this car thought black was better but I have bought a non vented bonnet which will probably take it's place and keep the vented 1 if i ever build a race car or turbo motor.
